Lol. I remembered playing Juan Serrano nostalgia in college for my recital and my index fingernail broke off and I had to end the song. 😭I felt terrible.
The new edition of Luthier set 20 (made in Spain) for some reason break the D string a lot more often.... Still I am grateful this string is back. The last few years of the original NY Luthier brand, the sound quality was very inconsistent. But when they were good they could sound really phenomenal.
Good news is that you can purchase a new one, but in our country, it has become a luxury purchasing a new set. Which country? Of course TR. You can’t imagine that how is it difficult to struggle with tons of stupid. Anyway.. These are my problems, not yours. Stay healthy 🌿
I think the bigger issue is that the classical strings take a long time to adjust to being in tune. so if you're in the middle of a concert even if you take an intermission to put on a new string it will be going out of tune for the next two days... I think the only real solution is having a backup guitar...

lol, this is so relatable, especially the disbelief of "did my string really just break?".
Relatable, but never happened to me maybe because here in Japan I need to practice so quietly that the strings never break.
