Just pre-ordered the starter set, Venom, Black Panther and Killmonger for a surprise gift for my son for Christmas. He always has been fascinated by my large miniature collection, so I figure it's best to start with this for a 9-year-old instead of the Grim Dark Future that is 40K. :) Also, Ash I"m bummed I couldn't come to visit you while you were here in Halifax, I had to work the whole time.
For team cards only half of your heros chosen need to be from that faction. So for avengers only need cap black widow and Ironman for it to count up to 6 models.
I think you're doing size wrong. It's not just height, compared to a 2 template. I've been told that there are sizes listed on the bottom of all pieces of NY Terrain so far.
Yup from my understanding it’s the size number listed under the terrain pieces (there’s also a list in the rule book) vs your characters height. I also think they did movement wrong to get on top of that building.
Can't wait for my copy to turn up. Looking forward to seeing more of this on the channel. 1st game that I have actually been excited about for a long time.
Great content. Thanks. Not sure if it was mentioned but I believe there was an error around 14:45 in second power up phase. The holding cube should have gained 2 not 3
I was interested about this game when I saw it during gencon. I like the idea to make a 10 man team from your multiverse I then pick and choose out of that for what you need. Now I just want venom, carnage and the spiderverse characters.
So one thing to note is that terrain pieces are not sized by the measurement tools so Baron Zemo and Crossbones would need to do a climb action to get onto the building as it is technically a size 3.
Hey, i like your gaming mat. The way it has those rectangle areas with fans on 1 side and the red ground on the other- are those rectangles made to be the correct size of the depoloyment zones? What mat is this that you are using? Thanks!
Hi, not sure if anyone will answer as this is quite an old vid but, I’ve only recently bought Crisis Protocol and really like the mat you were using in the vid! Where did you get it?
I didn’t think successes added to your defense; my understanding is that defense rolls only count wilds, crits and shields. There were a few rolls where successes where also counted for defense rolls.
About 39minutes, I think a Crit exploded into a second crit which then another die was rolled. I'm pretty sure consecutive Crits don't trigger extra rolls.
The 'melee' attacks that work outside of base to base looks weird in this game. I understand it but it does look weird ot have Zemo standing inches away from both Captain's and still be whacking them!
losthemisphere.com/wp/2019/08/gencon-2019-marvel-crisis-protocol/ Link to pictures! I plan to make a roster with Thanos, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Loki, Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, Rocket Raccoon and Thor. Then I can go good, bad, mix it up or just use Thanos as a raid boss vs. two full teams.
Plastic models and comes with a table of terrain. Mission generation is a lot cleaner and the team building more fluid generally (as you do it to the mission, not before). It's less fiddly. I loved the Marvel Minis game but it was a first edition that sadly got canceled before it could really come into its own. This game feels just as good at launch and has generally nicer assets (the boxed set is a pretty phenomenal value). Basically what you'd expect from a AAA publisher vs. a smaller firm.
The Knight one was great but they kinda mismatched offence vs defence for the earlier models so they are super hard to hurt anddon't do a lot of damage if they do so it can be a bit of a slog to finish someone off. Then someone gets Colossus and just shrugs everything off - which is eminently correct! But does slow the game down. DC they sorted that out so they have lower defences overall and more damage output but also tend to have more of the powerful traits/abilities among the characters which can lead back to the damage slog. Hurting Superman for example is really tough without Kryptonite - which is also eminently correct! But still suffers from making the game slow down into a slog to deal with it.
@@sirbobulous oddly enough, I don't find the Kryptonians dominant. There's a lot of irresistible attacks, or methods to bypass damage resistance. It's the characters like Constantine (who requires a willpower roll to attack), or Raven (Resistance 3), that become annoying to deal with. Colossus is still a beast, even versus DC characters. I'm curious to see how the inability to alpha strike a character off the board plays out in CP. I think that's going to be more enjoyable overall, from a beer and pretzels POV.
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames I have to admit that the minis look fantastic. Large, easy to assemble, and they look like a joy to paint. And none of those small ankle joints that KM has. Looking at you Rogue!
@@davidoconnell2631 I think it's mostly due to the characters people like to use here. If you don't have the tools it turns into a grind. You could argue 'well, bring the tools' but...don't necesarily want to play with those models! I do love bringing my Lantern team though. Green Lantern, Sinestro and Atrocitus then add some cheap objective scorer (usually Nightcrawler).
Guerrilla Miniature Games page 6 bottom left of rulebook. “Some active superpowers require a character to spend an action to use. If this is the case, the effect of the rule will be proceded by “action”.

If someone threw a car at you, you would certainly feel attacked.

Love seeing more people play this game! Your minis are painted great!
Love your channel my dude!
Holy crap...thank you Ash for actually talking about the game and how to play it. I just picked it up, and you've been super helpful (as always).
Bugle is actually size 3. Zemo should not have moved long on top of it, but instead moved short. 😊
I noticed that lol he use the the 2 distance stick to measure the building instead of the number under the building as the size
Love when you guys play games the minis are completely amazing. I'd love to see you guys do new Gaslands warbands.

its more than half I believe
@@DavidSmith-te9gg it's more than half of the squad you choose for the mission not the team of 10
I bought this game yesterday, and just finished putting the miniatures together (which was a pain)! Can't wait to play it!
You don’t gain poet every time that you are wounded. Only from enemy effects. The cosmic cube special rule would only give you one and not two.
Power not poet. Lol
I understood :)
The Captain America shield paint scheme for Mike is awesome
I think you're doing size wrong. It's not just height, compared to a 2 template. I've been told that there are sizes listed on the bottom of all pieces of NY Terrain so far.

Just getting started on this today, Thanks for putting out a cool play by play and links to the rules.
You only gain power from damage caused by the enemy. To holding the objectives only gives one not 2 power.
I thought this too. And Red Skull gaining power from injuring himself, I think shouldn't happen.
Loved this video I am looking to buy this game myself seen some extra characters I want and can't wait to get started
Hail Hydra hope to see more Marvel crisis on this channel. Can't wait for my game 😀

They’ve all been previewed! I’m definitely doing a Spiderverse team of heroes and villains!
Have Carnage been previewed? Pretty sure the answer is no.
3 of those are for sure coming
I couldn’t tell but were you paying the interact cost? Costs one power to perform the interact. Makes it harder to store power while grabbing stuff.

size and range are not the same the daily bugle is size 3
So what do you think about the Marvel Crisis Protocol miniatures game? How 'up there' would you rate it?
