Whitehorse Music My Cello has Machine Head Tuners which allowed me to get rid of those fine tuners from the tailpiece & it also puts the strings at a sharper angle over the nut to help them seat better.
Versum strings! I'm very impressed!!! Great info there, I have a spare A string in case but sincerely hoping I won't have to change it!!! Is there anything you can do at home if your pegs are slipping and you don't have access to some of the peg drops?
@@richthegolferbod3793 Any particular sort of chalk? I just adjusted the fine tuners and pegs today and the C peg is incredibly hard to turn but it's slipping........?
@@madonnabuiter733 Sounds to me like the peg is gripping too well.. A bit of peg paste will allow the peg to settle further into the hole before gripping. :) do you have pegpaste?
@@rbodinnar sadly no......? I adjusted the G & C pegs yesterday after my practice so will see how they settled over night, am about to practice... so hopefully the C peg won't pop and let go... I'm sure you're correct because the C is so tight it's really hard to turn but sometimes when I'm sitting to play if that peg touches my neck it pops and releases....
Thank you. By far the best and most detailed string changing video I've found.

18:45 This is a Stringers Master 7/8 Size Cello, an interesting Halfway point between a 3/4 Size Cello & a Full Size Cello.
My Cello is a 5 string Cello w/ a High E String & it has Machine Head Tuners so I can get it tuned up to pitch.
Wittner Fine Tune Pegs & a Stringing rank would make it even easier so all you'd have to do is turn the Handle.

How high above standard can you tune cello strings on a 4/4? I've gotten a C up to F# and nothing happened.

Whitehorse Music These Strings are actually "Flatwound Strings" because of the outside.
