For anyone looking at this, look at 2:09, the code needs to be exactly like that, not the copy-and-paste link which somehow inputs spaces where they shouldn't be. Thanks for this, very helpful.
thanks for this- my question: am I supposed to just type out those survey tag things with the *| SURVEY..... myself and paste them in? do I actually create those "tags"? AND can you control the look or font of what the recipient will see?
This is a great hack Gary! One I've been searching for a while. Do you know if there's any way to edit the styling of the options? I'd like to make them look more Button-like. I assume I'll be looking in the HTML but unsure of the ability to affect the styling of merge tags in Mailchimp.
Yes, @@GaryEckstein I've had a play around with the HTML/CSS over the past few days but it seems MailChimp reverts back to the default styling once preview mode is exited. Hoping for future updates from MailChimp regarding simple polls - especially viewing results or setting up automation on the back of poll results!
Hi Gary, when I try this method, I am unable to receive multiple responses. Once the first answer is submitted for the survey, when I try to answer through a separate email it directs me to the thank you page and says, 'sorry you can only vote once per poll.' I was wondering how you received multiple responses?
Hi Gary. Can you tag someone from a response in an email. ie - they answer your survey question and depending on the answer given, they are tagged automatically? Or do you have to go in and tag people depending on the surveys results? Thanks for the helpful video! Really well explained.
If you're using a Mailchimp survey then this can be done. However, the subscriber will need to complete the survey outside of the email itself - see mailchimp.com/en-au/help/create-a-survey/
I need to create a ballot, where the recipient selects 3 out of 4 candidates. Will this procedure work in that case, or do I need to do something more complicated? It's one question with 4 possible answers, and the recipient is to click 3.
Hi Gary, I am beginner in email marketing and your videos are helping alot. I watched all of your videos and now I am pro in Mailchimp email marketing thank you for that. so can you please tell me what services I can provide as email marketing freelancer. I mean what services there and why people will hire a email marketer freelancer.
Hi Sayan, there are alot of opportunities as a freelance email marketer. For example, small businesses may not have the time nor skills to create their own email marketing therefore hire a freelance, larger organizations may need a freelancer to verify contact information etc. The best thing to do may be to look at what other services email marketing freelancers offer; this will give you a good idea of oppostunities.
@@GaryEckstein Gary do you have any Facebook group that we can join so if someone else have these kind of question they can ask you or other members of group.
Hi Henning 1. Unfortunately if you have more than one question then the results will be incorrect. 2. Yes, you may create a segment to see who answered. See mailchimp.com/en-au/help/send-a-simple-poll-or-survey-to-subscribers/#Create_a_segment_based_on_the_results
Hi Gary, Please let me know the solution - I am having currently 2 customer journeys. one is for free trial, another one is for paid. If the free trial customer signs up to paid during the free trial automation sequence. how do I stop the sending email for that customer from existing sequence and then start new paid automation sequence for that customer.
Hi Aravind, for the free customers, you could add a filter to a journey point to exclude paid customers. You could then create another customer journey where the starting point is for paid customers.
Can you only do clickable answers? I would like to ask about what content they would like in our newsletter, but give the option for recipients to answer something In text.
Hi Dan, unfortunately the merge tag value doesn't always display correctly in the preview. The best is to send the campaign to yourself to check that all is working.
@@katieabbate9228 please confirm that you sent yourself a campaign as opposed to a text campaign? It's frustrating, but in Mailchimp, a test campaign shows ' code' rather than the processed ' code'.

Correct. It'll likely be necessary to configure HTML/CSS

Unfortunately I don't think this is possible. You'll need to create a survey and direct respondents to the survey itself.
