I do believe this teacher acted inappropriately towards a female student. Not just this scene I mean in general. He was with her behind closed doors and hung out with her at a football game. I don't believe he was attempting anything but he behaved unprofessionally. However, Tammy handled this SUPER unprofessionally. He didn't deserve those threats that she gave him and he didn't deserve to have his job threatened. Keep doors open check with parents first about suggesting novels with adult things in it; Julie is only a sophomore. But this is just my take.
@@desisarod As a male teacher and coach of female athletes, there are numerous things that was inappropriate of him. Allowing physical contact and being on a first name basis is crossing the line. Having lunch behind closed doors is EXTREMELY inappropriate. A male teacher should never be in private like that with another female. You don't have to be openly flirting to be inappropriate. The lines between teacher and peer were getting very blurry. You can tell by Julie's reaction to her mother that she was no longer viewing him as simply an educator.
I always recalled this guy was a good teacher and really cared about the kids. I loved Tami and she was one of the few I always thought had her head screwed on straight, but she definitely should have been more balanced here before she acted.
I disagree. She was a 16 year old girl who’s family suddenly separated, so it’s not really that weird to see her act out. Even under normal circumstances 16 years olds find a way to rebel and annoy
@@desisarod isn’t the whole story line behind the beginning of season 2 how her dad left to go to TMU and that’s when she started acting out? Granted I watched season 2 once and swore never again so maybe I’m remembering it wrong
They were both in the wrong here. Tami overreacted and Julie just can't shake this bad habit in which she keeps getting attracted to men who are too old for her. Noah was probably oblivious to Julie's feelings towards him. And I'm sorry but her calling him by his first name is just creepy to me.
I don't think Tami overreacted at all. That teacher was acting inappropriately with Julie. I don't think that Noah was oblivious, he was leading her on. The signs were there that he would have made a pass at Julie. And it is extremely inappropriate to give a student reading material of a sexually explicit nature.
Rarely has a show had so many memorable moments. I would forgive my mom pretty quick for embarassing me as it's pretty clear she was just trying to protect me.
I do think what he was doing was slightly inappropriate, however his reactions to everything just show he wasn’t attempting anything sleezy and if it was a male student no one would think anything of it
i thought this was one of the worst subplots in the show. the teacher didn't seem like a creep, he seemed like a good teacher. season 2 tammy was terrible. she overreacted big time.
not a bad show generally speaking, but yeah, there were some bad subplots, this one didnt actually ended properly, this teacher just suddenly dissapear, hated the last seasons we didnt see Lila and tyra
Also, it is extremely inappropriate that he gave Julie reading material of sexual nature. Also, he allowed Julie to sit on his desk. What I was seeing was he was taking advantage of Julie because she came into his room crying after seeing Matt with that cheerleader. Also, you don't need to make passes for the relationship to be inappropriate. Being on first name basis is super skechy, and one on one lunch behind closed doors is also inappropriate.
outside of Tami slapping the taste out of Julie's mouth during 'The Swede' saga [Julie deserved that shot], Tami was a bit of a shitshow of a person to her family overall around this time; she wasn't paying as much attention to Julie as she maybe should have, & should've been trying to slowly mend their dynamic, she was a consistent asshat to her sister [yet basically cuss'd Coach out for indirectly giving her the boot], & she pretty much had Coach on the back burner [especially that chizz with Glenn at her office]. & when Coach tried to make her aware of what was happening, she scoffed him off.
I didn’t even understand what the attack was for. There was nothing he did that was inappropriate. Had lunch with a student behind closed doors? I mean maybe suspicious but doesn’t prove anything
Nope as a 24-25 yr old teacher he shouldn't be giving romance novels to a 16 year old he shouldn't be hanging out alone with a 16 year old, then later on she's 17 first year at college she sleeps with a teacher that's like 31-32 and ruins his life because of it she's a spoiled brat that has weird TERRRRRIBLE taste in men.
I Believe the One you are Referring to Julie had an Affair with is when she is in College/University this is One of the Dillion HS Teachers(Inappropriate for a Teacher to Have "That Kind" of Relationship with a Student), Giving them a Book with an Adult Sexual theme, Julie gets Pissy with everyone Tami is just Looking out for her Own Daughter Best Interest even tho it might seem to Julie like she is Sabogating her Romantic Life.
