- I've been carrying the Flipside 4 wallet getting ready for this review for a while now. I've heard alot of great things about this slim wallet so I wanted to make sure I had all the information needed to give an accurate review. Can this clamshell style wallet compare to other slim minimalist wallets such as the Ridge, Dango & Trayvax?? Or does it fail miserably? I also test out it's "crush resistant" claims as you can see in the thumbnail, you don't want to miss that!!

I think the damage caused by being run over by a car could’ve gone better if the wallet were full of cards, the same way a person would have it if it suddenly fell and got ran over.
14:45 for the car test. Next time test it with with some fake/expired credit cards in it to see if the cards are protected. In my opinion it passed the test. Been using the Flipside 4 since July 2018 and I love it.

I was thinking about the Ridge Wallet. Then I was considering the Aviator. I looked at a $40 knock-off, but was bothered by the fact that they are no longer on Amazon and the BBB does not have any info on them. Now I'm consider the Flipside 4. The biggest selling point is how easy it would be to put my American money in the money holder. Just lift the money clip a little and slip it in there. The money can easily be folded away from the card on the opposite side.
Great review, I`m thinking in buying one, do you know where can I buy the Stow for this? since I cannot from their website.

Cool concept and think it’s great it’s made in the good ole USA. I have a knockoff Ridge wallet. Mine has the hex head screws, not the phillips like in your other review. I’d love to compare it to the Ridge, but just can’t spend $75 when I can get 6 for the same price. Like your reviews, keep em coming. You keep showing me things I didn’t know I needed, lol.

I know this wallet is not as thin as the ridge. But did the flip wallet seem too thick in your front pocket? I mean was it actually slimmed down from a regular leather wallet or is it not meant to slim the wallet down much and is only for the convenience of accessing everything. Thx for the videos.
Wasn’t too thick at all actually. The Trayvax Element felt thicker than the Flipside. I really liked how this one felt when using it.

This Is the best review of all of them. One reviewer said he kept larger bills inside the wallet and kept smaller bills in the outside external strap. He said he can reach in his pocket an pull out the bills to purchase small items without even pulling the wallet out of his pocket.
Dumb part about your review though, was when you were doing the stress tests, is, who the hell walks around with an empty wallet? Fill it up and then do the stress test. I don’t think the Flipside meant to run a car over it! Such a crush resistant, not crush proof. If you had cards and some bills in it, it might survive the stress tests. 🙄🤦♂️
It was an extreme test. So IF you drop it and accidentally step on it it’ll be fine. So I wanted to see how far it could go. So I ran over it with a car. Most people appreciated my efforts. And why would I fill it up to step on it. If I did that the cards and cash inside would protect it from crushing, not the structure of the wallet. Nobody does stress tests filled up man. Now THAT makes no sense.
Chrispy Things - Because in real-life situations, you’re not walking around with an empty wallet, that’s why! Of course it’s more likely to fail if empty. It makes total sense. In almost every product test, they try to test the product to find out how it would behave in a real-life situation.
alan30189 Wrong. That’s the whole point of a stress test chief. To see just how much it can stand! If I had a dump truck I’d run over it with that too, empty, to see if it can handle it.
Chrispy Things - I’m not getting through to you. It’s the same as when they crash test a car. They don’t crash test a totally empty car they have the engine in it, the seats in it, and everything. You can do what you want. It’s your channel. Do whatever blows your mind. Go rent a steam roller and run over it with that. That should be amusing.
I'd be interested to see a shake test for the internal slots if you dont have 3 cards in the slot.
have you done a video of comparing the sizes of the wallets and what wallet is your favorite because of size. I only ask because maybe for some, size may be a deciding factor
I will probably never compare the size of different wallets since there are so many. I mention the size and weight of every wallet I review though. That should give you a good idea

If you had your cards in your wallet, it would have held up better when you ran it over.
I don’t think it would’ve. There’s still space in the wallet for it to collapse. Plus the worse of it was at the hinge.
