A few movie words from driver .....as follows Ryan O'Neal meets the thugs or gang in car park Ryan O'Neal says you already have a driver other guy says he doesn't have the balls for driving ..... Lol how do we know your any good with that driver says get in ....👍😁
Loved all the characters in this film but the stand out for me was Bruce Dern and his attitude throughout. the dialogue and play off between him and O'Neill was priceless
What makes this movie timeless is the lack of any soundtrack during most of the car scenes. If there'd been lots of stock '70s car chase thriller muzak, it would've badly aged the film.
ICE COLD !!!!WHAT A MOVIE EMMOTIONLESS & DEADLY !!!THE HOODS FAILED TO SEE THE RUTHLESS KILLER IN HIM !!!THE Girl said BEST !!!YOU HAVE NO HEART and are COLD TO CORE !!! THIS Film IS IN THE LEAGE Of BULLIT !!!BRILLIANT Cop v Villain !!!g
I remember watching this as a boy and that piano you open with which ends the film always haunted me. Seen it dozens of times since it remains a brilliant and entertaining film and a serious antidote to the modern diet of SFX Marvel movies.
I must have watched The Driver over 20 times on VHS. He hardly says more than a paragraph in the film. But he was perfect for the part; both vulnerable & yet tough as nails. Rest in peace 🙏🏻
Hill is the most underrated genre filmmaker in cinema. The Driver, 48 HRS, Long Riders, Southern Comfort, Extreme Prejudice, Trespass, Last Man Standing...........
Benim hızlı araba kullanmama Ryan O’neal sebep oldu 1982 yılında 10 yaşındayken izledim ve bu filmi en az 50 kere izledim yarın tekrar izleyeceğim sana çok teşekkür ediyorum Ryan amca 👍👍👍🇹🇷🦅🖤🤍🖤
Epic classic car based film ever…. That beautiful Orange Mercedes took a bad carpark test, they just don’t make Mercedes cars like that now to take that kind of treatment..
Yeah, because boomer twatwaffles don't need crumble zones. Also, that merc needed its front reinforced to survive those stunts, because, the S-class had crumble zones since 1955.
1:45 I love that LTD front end.. looks evil and powerful, To that add that beautiful demon sound of the 4 barrels coming from the v8 guzzling fuel... beautiful cars!
As a student of mechanical engineering, automotive kind to be specific, what I find the most incredulous about this production is the lack of anyone wearing a seat-belt, stuntmen included, even if three-point seat belts being installed in most vehicles as standard here. Stunts being done with out a safetycage in the car and you know, a carbon fiber crash helmet isn't even a laboratory item at this point. Its a miracle this movie isn't known for number of stuntmen killed.
Why would the police open fire at the blue Ford they were not being fired at surely this is against the rules and could land them in serious trouble even prison for attempted murder
Back to the time you could really enjoy a good movie. Not stupid sh*t like " A$$ and Furious "! Great performance, cinematography, direction, you name it.

Ryan O'Neal has never been better..
Oh man oh god.....
O'Neal was excellent in _Paper Moon._
@@Brendan-Black"What's Up, Doc?" is my favorite Ryan O'Neal film.

"Read the baseball pages! You can find out who won, who lost...." LOL
brilliant film seen it in 78 at the harlow odean always loved a classic red chevy step side ever since!!
No matter how many years have passed, I want to watch it again and again.
Brilliant and exciting film with melancholy throughout , especially the music, similar to the Fighter. Walter Hill is superb.
What makes this movie timeless is the lack of any soundtrack during most of the car scenes. If there'd been lots of stock '70s car chase thriller muzak, it would've badly aged the film.
True, they avoided anything that would date the film very badly, beyond just the costumes, surroundings, cars, etc.
You know how you can tell that the cinematography of any movie, like this one, is excellent? Cool looking cars and streetlights
So sorry to hear Ryan O'Neal passed away. RIP.
Classic and still very underrated film.

I love how Ryan just walks around looking like a bartender, or used car salesman, or whatever. But never wears a tie! hehe
Great film... Ryan and Bruce Dern at his most menacing...
Best part, no CGI!!!
One of best movies if not the best car movie.Loved it .awesome very enjoyable.
Isabelle Adjani is so beautiful ❤
I know, in the neighborhood that I grew up in, the guys would say "Damn she's fine"
Looks like Monica Bellucci.

Bruce Dern had lifetime performance
The gentlemen at 2:39, (Dark Hair) was a prolific stunt man/actor Nick Dimitri. He was the final man Charles Bronson fought in Hard Times!
I hadn't recognized that. Thanks. Both superb films by Walter Hill. I could imagine Ryan O Neal in the Streetfighter.
Hill did THE WARRIORS and several great films!@@steadfastandyx4947
Yes
Proper film with some Proper driving a legendry film
I love this movie and love this red truck ❤❤❤
It's classic, I remember, I have seen it several times.😉

If you guys like this movie, then you will probably like Ronin. That's one crazy car chase. Even Deniro looks like he's not acting but is petrified.
Top film 👌
RIP Ryan O'Neill 😢
I remember the arcade game that used the film reel.
Driver on ps1 take the sound effects of accidents (like in the parking with the Mercedes)
@@nicoryu9135 the smashing sound was used in the game and they forgot to edit out the gear shifting sound when he slams it in reverse

One mean movie,whew!
You can tell that red pickup Ryan's driving is hopped up. The trucks suspension sticks every turn and powers thru them.
So ryan goslings version is a take off from this .
Refn, the director, claimed he didn’t, but he’s always been a bit of a troll. So, this film most definitely did
very loosly although i loved drive to
@@DarkFireFly64 it's clearly inspired to some degree by The Driver. No shame in it, DRIVE is a great film as well.

The Pontiac firebird trans am sure took a beating at the final chase of the movie driver ……😅

My question for the team behind this restoration: why did you wash the original picture out with so much teal?
It's the trend. Every movie now is tealish as shit.
Bad camera. You can clearly see the dummies and the stunt driver.

Dern's detective isn't quite as good as he claims, by the denouement of this movie. They get the better of him by then.
