i visit my girls family twice a year in pittsburg, but i don't know any riders out there nd none of the local bike shops have ever told about this place or any trail systems whatsoever
this place is a drop of heaven!! One could really spend hours in here without thinking of anything else. Thank you for creating an indoor world for skateboarders and bikers. Wish I had access to one like this.
I may be late to the party but the cinema would gladly give you guys a tour if you ever make it up. Check out my channel if you need proof that the burgh has good trails!
Virginian same with Nova Scotia, did a ride yesterday and the fire roads that transfer from trail to trail were sheet ice beat up elbows nicely skidding out heh
I live 30 mins north of Pittsburgh. I heard of this place. I never knew it was so big. I'll have to make a stop down. Seems like it has a lot of areas for beginners and pros. Thanks for the detailed video.
Thank you for the awesome videos!! This video inspired me and now i want to own one of these as a job when i grow up... thats probably never going to happen...
I've been wanting to go here for a while. I wish we had something like this in New England. Thanks for the tour. Thinking of getting a group to go for couple day trip.
I was just about to ask you about your bike. Thanks for pinning this and making it easy! I have been researching building a dirt/mtbmx bike for a couple weeks. I am having trouble figuring out what size frame to run because I am 6' 6".
It's definitely different. Ray's has a bit more to offer, and is more polished. I think the jump room here is better than the jump room at Ray's but I haven't been there since they expanded it.
You should definitely hit up Ray's Indoor MTB Park in Cleveland. It's absolutely incredible, and they shut down every Summer to rebuild and overhaul the park, so it's a different experience every year!
You should have went across the street to Frick Park to shred Iron Gate and Roller Coaster! Pittsburgh has such great selection of parks and mountain bike trails... awesome bike community too!
We try to ride year round. Some good winter riding gear is a must! The wheel mill is a great spot though. Nice to see you do a video so close to my neck of the woods.
Well I saw this video 9 month's later but I live about 20 minutes from the wheel mill. I'm in my mid 30s and ride a hard tail trek so I figured there was no point in going here. Looks like an old guy like me might be able too have a good time here! Great Vid Phil
Phil, next time you're in PA you should check out Rothrock State Forest in Central Pennsylvania. Lots of technical trails but lots of fun. And then you can check out Allegrippis Trail System, which is our "flow tracks" here in the hills of PA.
When I was in middle school me and my friends got board and Decided it would be a good idea to make the ultimate skinny. We took a 2 by 4 and placed it side ways across a many 4 foot wide creek for farm irrigation. Long story short we fell in more than we actually made it across.
I normally ride in Maine but this week I'm going to rye I'm only 15 so I don't have the easiest time traveling so I don't normally do much unfortunately but yeah I'm going to Rye soon
Would love to see parks like this in places like Brooklyn and The Bronx in NYC. Plenty of empty buildings just waiting for someone to create something like this. I'm an older rider that's dying to get back into BMX.
Pittsburgh Represent!! Underrated MTB city for sure. I have had a ton of fun riding at the wheel mill and the trails around the city!
The BMX scene in PA is legendary, but it seems like there's a good MTB scene near Pittsburgh that I wasn't aware of.
I know some mtb shredders, I am a trail builder at death valley trails in Pittsburgh. @traillifebmx on ig.
@@SkillsWithPhil It's a great place to ride. Pittsburgh is my home and I've never been bored with the riding here :) Thanks for visiting!
PHILLS WITH SKIL!
L You dropped that!
love the wheel mill. there is lots of great trail riding in and around Pittsburgh as well, of you are ever here when the weather is better
That's what I'm hearing. I will definitely need to make it back to the area during the warmer months!
i visit my girls family twice a year in pittsburg, but i don't know any riders out there nd none of the local bike shops have ever told about this place or any trail systems whatsoever
@@Sixbillion1 check me out on ig @traillifebmx if you can jump big dirt only jumps i got you
this place is a drop of heaven!! One could really spend hours in here without thinking of anything else. Thank you for creating an indoor world for skateboarders and bikers. Wish I had access to one like this.
Same here! That would be a amazing!
Hell yeah. That's closer to me than any outdoor bike parks.
This was so cool, Phil! The slow mo while you were in the air on a couple shots was great! I want to check this place out!
That wasn't slow-mo, I was born with the unique ability to temporarily slow down time when I'm about to do something super sick! 😂
You're decoding the Matrix!
now youve done a good budget bike do a low end bike (100-150) thats usable unlike the huffy
I may be late to the party but the cinema would gladly give you guys a tour if you ever make it up. Check out my channel if you need proof that the burgh has good trails!
I've been to here it was LIT
Born and raised in the Burgh and didn’t know about this until this video. Went today and had a blast. Highly recommend the wheel mill!

I live 30 mins north of Pittsburgh. I heard of this place. I never knew it was so big. I'll have to make a stop down. Seems like it has a lot of areas for beginners and pros. Thanks for the detailed video.
That's awesome! I go there every once and a while. It's a rad place to ride.
I wish I could make it out there more often.
Awesome video, I can't think of any better way to describe the feel of the wheel mill.

Seems like a more chill Rays!!!
Wow, that looks very cool.
Living near Pittsburgh, I never knew this was there. I'm definitely going to have to check it out and hone my skills there.
Phil, you're the man. Next time you're down in FL, you should hit up Grape Fruit Trails in Palm Bay. Heck, I'll join you! I'm sure you'll love it.
Wish we had this place, it looks awesome. Winter sucks
+Mach1320 winter sucks less when you have places like this near by.
You shred yo.... great job!!!!!!
I will have to check this place out, looks extremely similar to Ray's in Cleveland, OH
+Jason Grimm similar idea. This place isn't using the space as well as Ray's but does a lot of other things very well.
OMG, OMG, I that looks like a new home for my bike 😍
Sick!!! Wish NYC had a place like this. Idk why we don't....
awesome tour!
Thanks Boosten!
Nice place and great editing on the video!
+william jarvis thank you William
That place looks fricken badass bro!! Definitely need to check it out some day!!
It is awesome.
Ray's has been my go-to, but it looks like I'll have to check this place out sometime soon as well. I live right in between the two.
It's definitely different. Ray's has a bit more to offer, and is more polished. I think the jump room here is better than the jump room at Ray's but I haven't been there since they expanded it.
i enjoy the jumps at the mill over the jumps at rays. Rays has alot better skinnies and stuff tho.
That place looks stupid fun!
You should definitely hit up Ray's Indoor MTB Park in Cleveland. It's absolutely incredible, and they shut down every Summer to rebuild and overhaul the park, so it's a different experience every year!
There are lots of trails in Pittsburgh like Frick Park.
Cool place for the locals to ride for sure
Wow! As so many of the comments, wish I had something similar here in Switzerland!!
I like the industrial vibe.

Thank you Alexander!
;) Looking forward to more videos
That place is crazy!
I know right! I wish we had one a bit more local.
You should have went across the street to Frick Park to shred Iron Gate and Roller Coaster! Pittsburgh has such great selection of parks and mountain bike trails... awesome bike community too!
Well it's a little cold for that, but that's good to know. Thanks for the recommendation!
We try to ride year round. Some good winter riding gear is a must! The wheel mill is a great spot though. Nice to see you do a video so close to my neck of the woods.

Damn, we need one of these in Detroit!!! We have tons of old industrial buildings they build this in!
RyanCoolVids but how expensive in Pittsburgh it’s not that expensive
Phil, next time you're in PA you should check out Rothrock State Forest in Central Pennsylvania. Lots of technical trails but lots of fun. And then you can check out Allegrippis Trail System, which is our "flow tracks" here in the hills of PA.
Really sucks Rays in cleveland is only open in the winter. It's a really good trip to take. I suggest you all go.
I live in Pittsburgh and the wheel mill is the place in the winter
When I was in middle school me and my friends got board and Decided it would be a good idea to make the ultimate skinny. We took a 2 by 4 and placed it side ways across a many 4 foot wide creek for farm irrigation. Long story short we fell in more than we actually made it across.
added to my bucket list😁
this is basically indoor woodward. i subbed and turned on notifications
Cool vid! Would have been cool to run into you while you were in town. There are some good mountain bike trail systems in Western PA as well.
So awesome
wow that place is awesome and I live in Maine so I know how it's getting cold and I just got a new dirt jumper so I can't wait to use it
Do you usually ride in Maine, or do you just go to Rye Airfield?
I normally ride in Maine but this week I'm going to rye I'm only 15 so I don't have the easiest time traveling so I don't normally do much unfortunately but yeah I'm going to Rye soon
That place is class👌🏼👌🏼
This was great, thanks Phil but "wicked cold"? Give me a break... We've been biking here in Finland though we have -10 degrees with ice and snow :D
We need one of these in Omaha Nebraska 👍🔥
You should go to Mikes Bike Park in Dayton Ohio. It is indoors primarily for BMX but there are a plethora of mtb trails.
I can only dream of a place this nice. There aren't even any pump tracks within three hours of my house.
that looks amazing! you have to come visit joyride 150 up here in Ontario Canada. it's brutally cold so the huge indoor Park is great
Yes I'd love to make a trip to Joyride!
The Wheel Mill is Mega Dope! Too bad I am like a zillion miles away...sad face.
I wish there was a indoor mtb park close to me i would love to spend more time on my hardtail
im not a BMX rider, but i went there and its great! its 17 miles away!
Awesome!! Are you going to come back down for the fat tire festival in Ocala? Keep the videos coming out.

+PittsburghActive with a name like that you better! Haha it's a sweet place!
Imagine the pump track on a wheel chair 🤟
Would love to see parks like this in places like Brooklyn and The Bronx in NYC. Plenty of empty buildings just waiting for someone to create something like this. I'm an older rider that's dying to get back into BMX.
inspirational vid, ta Phil
Thanks Neil!
If only there was something like this in the uk...
