I'm an overweight mom who has never gone mountain biking before but I saw a video about this place and thought it'd be a great Christmas present for my kids. I borrowed an old mountain bike from a coworker and brought my kids' Wal-Mart bikes and despite being complete beginners we had a blast. I thought I was going to end up in the hospital when my nine-year-old took me on the green line, but I'd love to go back when I'm in better shape and rent out a bike that is actually decent. Thanks for reminding me of how much fun it was.
lol season pass holder here and i’ll watch just about any good video posted about Rays. Ive picked up a ton of tiny little things watching people ride. certain people ride differently or do a transfer i didn’t think about until watching
wish i didn’t miss you! from the other rays vid i must have just missed you, i recognize the people there that day riding around, and you did some laps with some of the locals! Hell yeah man someone had a good day out there
I'd just wanna go here and follow some of the easy trails with all the bumps and roof runs just to get fit. Beats a Gym! I'd be slow so I'd just let others pass but looks fun
You should check out horns hill in Newark Ohio by Columbus. it’s a local downhill spot that has a shuttle on most weekends (just had one New Year’s Eve ) they also have other trails in the back that are fun and great for beginners.
11:09 reminds me of when I was seven and I told my dad I wanted to bike on one of the rails on the railroad tracks. I don’t know what I was thinking when I said that
I dont ride, and damn sure not at this level or calibur of skill or whatever but i can say that the sections such as at roughly the 1:30 - 2:00 minutes section of the video, are surely to god, even among top tier or frequent denizens, a tib-bit too narrow for immersive, effortless, almost thoughtless lines, that extremely satisfying and addictive sense of having accomplished something challenging and doing so well ,which i gather from observing the hobby is kind of that unspoken, unacknowledged, but universal factor that hooks those who love it
Wow, what a place for learning the MTB process or to have fun\train BMX.. It is realy amazing to see something like this, do you have more places like this one troughout the US or is this a rare sight even in the states?
Your an awesome dude and an awesome rider! My gf is taking me there next weekend for my bd! Wish I could ride behind you to elevate my riding! Feel free to head back next Saturday lol. Thx for the tour brother 😁
One of my riding buddies broke his back on those big jumps on the advanced jump line like 2 or 3 years ago. He's all good now, but damn that was scary.
Hey Phill, was wondering if you were going to do another video of The Wheel Mill in Pittsburg. It’s been along time since your video there and allot has changed inside. Would be really fun to see you ride there again and thanks for the great content!
Phil I have a video idea I would love to see you do. As a ex bmx rider who has made the transition to mtb something I have always struggled with as I am sure many have. Is doing stuff oppo. So I would love to see a skills video on oppo airs whips and hips.
This is bike is a "dirt jumper", it's the kind if bike you'd rider pump tracks, dirt jumps and skateparks with. For that reason they usually don't need aggressive stopping power like you'd need on a normal mountain bike.
I've ridden there on a hardtail 29er and had a blast. You'd probably spend less time in the rhythm room on a 29er but It'd be fun nonetheless. I'd recommend a dirt jumper which you can rent for 20 bucks from rays
For tire choice, I'd say any grippy street tire is best. But even grippy knobbies can work. I had 29 x 3" Maxxis DHF/R's on my bike and had no major issues. I recently put some 29x2.5 Maxxis Grifters on and they were too slick ( I think I need to wear them in a bit more). As for whether 29s are a good choice it depends on what features you want to hit. If you want to do things like the Bowl or Paul's Boutique I think you'll be disappointed using your 29er. For things like the green trail, the skinnies, pump track, etc. you'll likely be OK. In most cases, a DJ with its 26" wheels seems better suited for everything there. But, like Phil said, there's only one gear and some of those tight climbs are a bear to get up without extra gears, depending on your level of fitness. The fact that he hit the whole park in under 20 minutes is incredibly impressive. I'm not that fit, so halfway through the green line I have to slow down.

pure bliss!
I’ve been to Rays a million times, but just watched a 20 minute tour on it. That’s how entertaining Phil is. Love your vids
I always enjoy seeing how different people ride my local spots.

Same
It makes me feel a bit better that even Phil is huffing and puffing half way around the green loop. Isn’t just me.
ikr
I feel this
they really need to make more indoor MTB parks like this
this is so cool
M o n e y ... or in this case "capital" is always an issue, there used to be one in Milwaukee that was super fun. But greedy landlords ruined that.
@@icupp8844 I hate landlords buying up everything and ruining shit
I wonder how much liability insurance it takes to run one of those.
I've always wanted to check this place out, but hearing Pantera in the background just moved it up the list! Awesome!
Well done going through the whole place in one go!
The work that's gone into that place is amazing....
That is awesome. Got to give absolute props for the planning and work going into building that.
This place is an absolute trip. Never knew such a place existed.
Wow amazing it's like a old factory turned into a ride park so awesome
This place looks like the roller rink from my childhood grew up. This looks phenomenal
Just imagine how much all that wood would cost. Awesome video
Hope Ray upped his insurance
“…and whatnot.” Takin me back to NH bud. Wicked good content Phil.
That was a fantastic tour video of Rays. You made it all look so simple to clear all of those sections, nice work man.
Place is ginormous, a labor of love to build it!
I love how quiet that bike is! Awesome park too! Really wish we had one of those near me!
YOU DID A BACKFLIP AGAIN!! You are still young :)
I did some earlier this year too that didn't make it into a video.
I'd just wanna go here and follow some of the easy trails with all the bumps and roof runs just to get fit. Beats a Gym! I'd be slow so I'd just let others pass but looks fun

YES
I’m going down to Rays for the first time in a few weeks with some friends. Pretty excited, great tour! Thanks Phil 🤜🤛🤙

Did my first backflip on those resi's in 2006! I haven't been since but it looks amazing now
Wow what a cool place it’s my dream placw for winter time, forget a gym just go ride here every day haha
First video of the new year, so far pretty great, can’t wait to see what this channel has to offer this year 🤙
Thanks for the video. I wish the Ray's in Milwaukee was still around.
This is the coolest bike park I've ever seen. It looks like it could get infuriating with people stopping right in the middle though!
Next time you're in Ohio check out Horn's Hill in Newark. It's got some really cool downhill trails that you really wouldn't expect for Ohio.
11:39 Pantera plays
11:44 mentions Slayer or Metallica... great music either way....
cool tour, thanks.
Thank you man that was awesome! I can't wait to go!
Been there many times..so worth the trip from Wisconsin... heading there in Feb ..cant wait !!
For sure subbing. Awesome video man. Would like to check that place out next time I come to Ohio. Hopefully this coming July when I visit family.
Wow, what a place for learning the MTB process or to have fun\train BMX.. It is realy amazing to see something like this, do you have more places like this one troughout the US or is this a rare sight even in the states?
Been wanting to go to Ray's since first heard about it almost twenty years ago. I'll make it up there eventually
Wow! I have been to Ray's, but never rode all of Ray's in 17 minutes.
This place rocks my friend just got me into it and we’ve gone twice this week so far
This is insane! So rad
Your an awesome dude and an awesome rider! My gf is taking me there next weekend for my bd! Wish I could ride behind you to elevate my riding! Feel free to head back next Saturday lol. Thx for the tour brother 😁
Great tour thx!!! quite the lap !!!
This is SO COOL!!! (62f and overweight) I wish I were in shape so I could ride it. ;)
great video showing off all of what RAYs MTB has to offer!!!
One shot that track is brutal. I make it half around and need to stop
Sick vid phil, already started counting down to whismas
Incredible and creative riding as usual. That place looks like a maze
Great vid phil keep up the good work
I love Haileys Marin!! Those colors are hot!!! I always dreamed of visiting this place:
Ohhh leeeeessssss gaaarsssss happy new yearr
Wow! That place looks sick! Wish we had stuff like that where I live.
This place looks brilliant dude. Wish we had something like that in Scotland 🏴 🔥🤟🏻
Tell me about it 👍 I would buy a season ticket for the winter 😄
Definitely would be ideal 🤟🏻
Woooow, thats a really sick place :-) Biiiiiiig :-) Like it.
This place looks amazing!
Wouaw, great place ! Must be crowded on weekends...
One of my riding buddies broke his back on those big jumps on the advanced jump line like 2 or 3 years ago. He's all good now, but damn that was scary.
What an incredible place!
It truly is
Next excellent Video Phill :) ❤️I want to have Your skills ⚡⚡
Very cool! Planning a trip there next weekend! Thanks for the update as it's been a few years since I've been there.
Nice I go there weekly !
You should make an intro. You have enough sick clips
It'd be super cool if they carried out some sort of contests with prizes and all. Possibilities are limitless there.
I know they used to. Not sure currently
I wanna go up there for my birthday on the 21st cause it’s only like two hours north. But yeah it looks sick up there
Rays is so fun and the day I where my shirt I watch a Ray's vid
That is excellent!
Wish there were more of these. Us michiganders have to drive a bit to ride during the winter
I agree. This place is over 10hrs from my place.
man i wish there was something like this local we even have empty warehouses lol
Great place!!! Saludos desde Argentina
Awesome tour, thanks for uploading
would love to see you wear a gopro on a stick to get a body view of you riding. Sick content sir.
Insane park!
Sick tour of heaven!
so close to 500k!

Dang I wished we had a place like this in SE N.C.!!
I wish I lived closer to Cleveland. Also, you should angle your camera up so we can see ahead of you a little.
We need one of these in Keene !!!!!!
Love your videos!
Ayeee CLEVELAND glad to see it
Great job man! Remember dont push your self to what you cant handle!
best crash reel name: Spills with Phil
Amazing place
U suggest the yellow path for a warm or go straight to green?I'm gonna be going in April bringing jump bike & mountain bike.
Welp, I drove 4 hours and ripped Rays for a day and never found the secret room. Glad I know about it now though
Giọng anh rất hay, cảm xúc nữa ạ.
Could you do, for when whismas comes another series with parts?
Phil I have a video idea I would love to see you do. As a ex bmx rider who has made the transition to mtb something I have always struggled with as I am sure many have. Is doing stuff oppo. So I would love to see a skills video on oppo airs whips and hips.
Nice Indoorpark 👍👍
Finally a new video!
You should come back to Ray's with a BMX race bike
Oh man I'm getting out of breath with you imagining I'm riding this.
This looks like a video game level.
Hey I’ll be up there tonight!
Wish the uk had something like this 😅
Its perfect the only thing that would improve it would be black lights and florescent paint
Very cool, but why do you have no shifters and only one brake? And is it front brake or back brake? Is a single speed bike better for this? Thanks
This is bike is a "dirt jumper", it's the kind if bike you'd rider pump tracks, dirt jumps and skateparks with. For that reason they usually don't need aggressive stopping power like you'd need on a normal mountain bike.
thats kinda cool
love the videos what should i upgrade on the labomba pro
Do you need a mtb to come ride around here? Or will a random Walmart bike work?
Wow... thats TOATALY safe
This almost makes me want to go to Ohio lol
I have a 100mm hardtail and 160mm enduro. Which would be better for Rays? Or should I just rent one?
Definitely the hardtail or a rental.
I would love to go there
2 things: Best tire choice for that place and 29ers not the best option?
I've ridden there on a hardtail 29er and had a blast. You'd probably spend less time in the rhythm room on a 29er but It'd be fun nonetheless. I'd recommend a dirt jumper which you can rent for 20 bucks from rays
For tire choice, I'd say any grippy street tire is best. But even grippy knobbies can work. I had 29 x 3" Maxxis DHF/R's on my bike and had no major issues. I recently put some 29x2.5 Maxxis Grifters on and they were too slick ( I think I need to wear them in a bit more).
