“All BMWs leak” 😂. I once told a car salesman 👨💼 that my trade in is a BMW and the first thing he said to me in response was “how many leaks do you have” ? I was taken aback 😂
hey can this problem happen in a volvo xc60 2010 D5 2.4 AWD diesel.I have noticed that the whole turbo black big tubed covered in an black oily sludge?
Not changed properly. Did you remove the old residue ? Used some sealant on the spots that need it eg. Where the head meets the front cover(don’t know the right word for „stirndeckel“ lol) and the last step would be to check if your actual valve cover is bent. Check it with a precise ruler. Don’t know about the us but we call it hairpin ruler. The newish plastic valve cover from the n generation of engines tend to vent over time due to heat cycling
I have this on my e46.. every once in a wile i need to add like a small cup size of coolant....engine doesnt leak....(apart from oil) 🤣 and nu clue were it leaks
tubros use oil to cool them down, thats why turbo timers exist. so you dont go drive your car hard and then shut it down right away., that hot oil in the turbo will cook and then destroy your bearings on next startup. if they used coolant those bearings wouldnt last. at all
That line he showed is called turbo Coolant line.Look it up on any BMW parts website. I’ve seen the pressurized gasket it uses leak before. Happens on some n20/n26 engines.
Not every turbo car runs coolant through the turbo bud. Don’t misinform people who are just trying to learn.
Lmao he’s right guys not every turbo..
@@wr450sm5 99% of vehicles doesn't have water cooled turbos.
@@bomberman4046 they do these days

Only US petrol BMWs leaks. In Europe diesel BMWs never leak
Cause the diesel engines are far better engineered and don't run as hot
Where's the link to the full video?
Which BMW model is it?
Can someone help for the o ring replacement do u need certain ones or are the universal ones rings just fine ??? Need a ASAP answer PLEASE !!!

Imagine putting a turbo in a car only to top off at 200hp then adding a rubber o ring next to an exhaust to add insult to injury.
what do you recommend for a valve cover gasket leak. I changed the gasket but still leaking! Any advice?
might be the valve cover itself. They tend to crack due to age.
That happened on my e46 , it’s because the cover is warped , so changing gasket didn’t help, you must replace the entire valve cover
Did you add RTV gasket stuff to the corners?

My seat Leon mk2 seems to lose coolant every few weeks can’t find the leak anywhere
0:02 LOL!
Hilarious, yet informative vid, guys.
Was that you being showered in oil? Link?
Why don’t you buy the right tools and pressurize the coolant system
I have a leak on these. Could you repair it on my x1 ?

They all use oil, some use oil to lubricate and also coolant to regulate temps
Don't have that issue in my STI
You can pressure test a car with out it running to find the leak🤷🏽♂️
How you know its that problem
I can’t be the only one that has zero leaks💀
You have a leak, you just haven’t found it yet.
Turbos use oil as coolant
Yes and no some of them use both.... Its a mess....
@maniacwombat figured some must use it If thus guy said that
@@parkerr080 was still curious about the answer 😄 and some very popular cars use such turbos, like subaru and aome porsche just for side knowledge
Lol just assumed it’s that, replaced and says it’s fixed, but won’t actually know till dude starts driving it again lol
Yeah, I call my e38 the Valdez!
„all BMWs leak“ yeah right if you don’t maintain it properly. Just like any other car.
Sorta. BMWs leak just from hitting a pothole sometimes
Can usually smell it.....but turbos suck
Turbos don’t use coolant to cook it down lol he don’t know wot he’s talking about
Never heard of turbos using coolant especially on BMW.

BMW's are just got garbage on 4wheels
