Corrado vr6 is just so good, it's drives so well, sounds incredible. One of the best cars ever made imo, a true 90s classic and so ahead of its time.
Nobody can ever deny how good the vr6 sound
Yep, not the fastest for even then considering there was red top novas and astras flying about 😂😂😂. Plus the subaru n honda boys and even then audis n bmws. But with all that said the vr6 sounded amazing! I still prefer the v5 but im that guy that likes the odd cylinder sound.
@@jigzonyt517 for that HP is quite čast acctually still 6.7 0-60mph
Hell yeah, fan for life don't care if it's not very powerful
Except for the diesel truck good ol boys, they roll around in those obnoxious ear raping turds and only hear my vr6 as a "ricer"
One of the best VW ? Best VW ever !!!! And one of the best car ever made !!! This is
I had a VR6 Corrado storm one of my favourite cars🇯🇲🇬🇧💙👊🏽
Lovely motor. I bought my VR6 back in 98/99, put 120-140K miles on her in UK & Europe, she drove like a legend, everywhere. Fantastic car, so good that I'm having mine restored (JMR in worthing - they really understand & know Corrados), can't wait to get her back again.
Corrado VR6 owner checking in. I've owned mine for 12 years now. "Storm grey" (that's the paint colour name, it isn't a Storm), BBS RX2 alloys, electric cloth recaros. I love the car so much. It has sat in a garage for nearly two years but I am getting it back on the road this month.
Still got my VR6 Corrado, love it to bits, drives so well and the sound is intoxicating
Great film. Had one in the late 90’s. Still one of the best looking cars on roads all these years later👍👍
It's a lovely car. :) Actually based on the Mk2 Golf, not the Mk3, with a bunch of Passat suspension at the back!
Again loving this video. I have a 1996 vr6 and would never ever sell. Just had an epic road trip on the Welsh B roads and it didn’t disappoint ❤
Love the Corrado VR6! What a beast! 😎
U can’t beat the sound of a 12v vr6!!! I’ve had a couple, not the fastest but good fun!!
Definitely feel special to drive and the 12v VR6 sound is the best
The Corrado Storm one of the most iconic and nostalgic cars ever made, true VR6 Symphony. I love that Shrek intake manifold very unique!
Perfection. One of the best engines ever!
I can hear and feel and rumble of the engine through my headphones! Goosebumps!! 😍😍😍
A proper FYD car video. Great to see you reviewing & being so happy & enthusiastic about a car.
Great video, great noises!
Had exactly the same car, Storm in blue. I put the R32 engine in which gave it the little bit more poke that it needed. Full nut and bolt restoration. It was great fun.
One of the best cars ever produced. I owned 4 at one point. Planning on acquiring another one soon
Just got a 55k mile 1 previous owner blue storm , it cost £32k new, I have the original bill of sale, great review , Jamie
Always wanted a Corrado when I was junger. Back then they were expensive and now the prices are ridiculous high. Even for the normal 16v ones.
I drove a Corrado VR6 when it was new (somewhat illicitly lol). It felt torquey, solid, and AGILE, like the Reebok shoe of cars, but it didn't feel low. I regard it as the second best handling FWD car I've ever driven.
AH god!!!. Every time I see one of those cars I gotta look away. I had a minting example complete with leathers, sunroof and air conditioning back in the summer of 2009 and went and sold it for £3K so I could go on holiday. Has to be the best sounding and most enjoyable car I have ever driven. Can't get a decent one for under £12k now.
Great video Jamie, good to have you back! 🔥 I currently own a 90s Audi Coupe
I don't have a storm, but I have a fairly performance-upgraded SLC/VR6 and have had several others including a G60... quite literally my favourite car of all time and I will always own at least one. The 12V VR6 is so glorious sounding (especially the early dizzy pre-coil pack ones). Correction though they are not based on the MK3, closer to a B3/B4 passat and MK2 hybrid, but uniquely its own thing and every Corrado I have ever had (10+) has had A/C
Nice to see just insured mine today been off the road since 2019 1993 mot Saturday can’t wait
Volkswagen really knew what they were doing when they bolted these together. They are quick cars and were fast in their day but you can really red line it every gear in normal traffic and have an absolute blast. They were just fun practical sporty cars and WAY ahead of anything from the Japanese or Americans in the normal market.
Great video Jaime i share your enthusiasm about the Corrado i own a Storm and everything you mentioned is so true
Hard to beat the Corrado , Have a late 95 in red just with out the Storm badge... Think every owner has a cheeky look in the rear view mirror evrytime the spoiler rises..lol Great to see the Corrado getting some FYD love...
My 04 V(R)6 TT is still the best soundtrack in the world. Nothing beats a VAG vr6 for smiles
Brilliant Video still the most communicative chassis of all VWs eventhough it is a mongrel of VW parts special!
I’m getting a 90 corrado tomorrow so happy
had a g60 a vr6 and a green storm from new great cars vice to see a well kept one good vid
This review reminds me of your early days when I subscribed all those years ago
I knew I dude in Poland he had that version. Non storm version though. His VR6 had 380 bhp as he had some bigger turbo. Cant remember but 380bhp. A monster.
Got a white air-con model awaiting reassembly in my garage, Schrick manifold too... just wish I had the time to put it back together... one day.
87 of 1995's came to canada in left hand drive but not under the storm badge that was the last left over after the completed the 500 storms.
Such a good looking car and that VR soundtrack
Love this video - great enthusiasm - great watch.
violet ice grey was a colour only offered in Canada 1994 model VR6 with black recaros and the stiching was in the same colour as the body. 500 in this colour world wide only (approx)
Great car Jamie, real nostalgia 👍
God Jamie take me back to the 90s 🙏😁😁😁
Awesome car, I lust for one of these as as a lover of VWs
The storm was so exclusive it's almost unobtainable
I guess I'll have to make do with my 92 VR6 I've owned it for just over 20 years now
I paid ,£200 for a dragon green 1.8 16v in about 2010. Still had mot and tax. Full karmann leather. Paint work was bad. High mileage. Drove lovely. Sold it for £450 a couple of months later....... Still regret it to this day.
best looking Volkswagen golf for sure!
It was a Beast 😮. I should of kept mine it has a great body shape much better than the vw Gti today and the R. They should come with another Corrado bring it out 2027 . I bet it would sale more than the R and Gti if they came with a great body shape.
Love this car, one of the loudest aggressive pop and bang cars once tweaked correctly which sounds wicked!
Any ideas on how to reduce the exhaust emissions to meet ULEZ standards?
lovely, my classic green storm is my delight .BUT the blue ones were black inside including the headliner .so that headliner has been filched from a green un.
My Golf has that interior!
I had the G60 version a many years ago, I paid £2500 at the time and the car was pretty mint.
Just checked on total car check and unfortunately it's now scrapped 😢
sometimes it's best not to know what happens to your old motors I've been heartbroken as well finding they've been scrapped or written off.
How much would it be worth today ?
Wrong” based on a mk2 a2 platform
was you driving round the diss area ?
Wonderful car
Pretty certain the Mk5 R32 engine was derived from the engine found in the Corrado 2.9 VR6.... So technically it did.
Yes it was and you can fit it into the Corrado with a little effot. But sadly the engine never made it to the scirocco.
The Corrado VR6 is also unique in being the only 2.9L version of the VR6 engine. The Golf, Bora and Sharan all used a 2.8L or 3.2L version (with 24v being used on the later versions).
@@tnetroPYou're forgetting the Mk3 Golf Syncro. 4x4 and was fitted with the 2.9...
@@TraceyAllan-g1p I must admit I wasn't aware of that car. I certainly never saw one on the streets in the UK. But having looked it up, you are quite right 👍
One of the best looking vw's ever.
Try get hold of a Fiat Coupe 20vt
U chose well...💪💪💪💪😉👍👍
The figure of 5 Storms on the road unfortunately isn't accurate. Most Storms were registered as just a VR6. It was entirely down to how the dealer registered it when new. That's why the Mystic blue Storm is a safer buy than a Green Storm, because Mystic was a colour unique to the Storm.
Maybe they'll make limited series and bring it back for a year or two
Well, an someone who has a 1992 Corrado VR6 that I bought new, I do not think the "Storm" is the best. I have been driving manual transmission VWs since 1973 but I am not ready to shift with my left hand.
Sorry pretty sure it’s not based upon a Mk3 Golf, it’s the A2 platform, so essentially a Mk2 Golf underneath. But I could be wrong.
4 cyl cars were mk2, the 6 cyl were actually mk3 golf. I know this because I own a corrado vr6, mk2 16v and a mk3 16v. The vr6 rado is identical in chassis to the mk3 I have.
@@suckbangsqueezeblow cool!!! I never knew that, having myself owned a G60 back in the late 90’s and a VR6 more recently.
@@LickyDischargeg60 is on my want list! Arguably the early g60s (and 16vs) and the most beautiful Corrados with their diff bonnet, wings grill and lights.
The Corrados were all based off the MK2 chassis, 4 cylinder models subframe and a Passat B3 rear torsion beam the VR6 had the MK3 Plus subframe and rear torsion beam.
Sounds like Chewbacca ❤
All the US versions of the Corrado have AC from the factory.
Nice to see to see a Corrado VR6 now try a tuned Corrado G60 in blue of corse
Great car but I bet the sunroof doesn’t work!!
Reminds me of an asian woman who questioned the California gov or sombody... she said "im from a communist country that took our arms, if i give up my arms can you ganranty my safety ". The person she questioned as expected gave a weak answer
£17995 lower mileage more original better condition on eBay right now… £25k 🤔 interesting figure. Nice to see 90s classics going for good money though
The golf R should be a corrado. Chop the roof and throw the 3.6 VR6 into it.
The Storm is the Chav version. Plus it’s not black
Insanity. 5 on the road!
Personally I don't think there's a better looking VW out there.
Harp away
Definatly not mate, they are beautifull my opinon the best VW EVER MADE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have a 2.9 red vr6 and few of my buddies have a couple of g60's supercharged. My other bud has original yellow ,green and a blue. These ain't that rare in canada
