Christians speak of joy too. I think it's the context of joy being a tool and how it is defined by the movement. Is it a vengeful joy? Is it a forced joy? Is it a narcissistic joy? The word is fine but the context matters

And there are some later academics who think that ode to joy is code word for ode to freedom. But it seems to be revision on their part.
