Team USA Has The WORST LIVE ATTENDANCE As Fans NO SHOW Their First Round Game Against Japan

  • Team USA, without Caitlin Clark, played their first-round game in the Paris, Olympics and the fans did not show up. It was the worst-attended game by far. Let's talk about it.
Caitlin Clark, the #1 overall pick in the WNBA draft has completely upended the entire league. She's shattering records both on the court, in viewership, live attendance, and even merchandise sales. From selling out WNBA All-Star jerseys in mere minutes to selling out of her Wilson basketball 'Limitless" signature series in hours, she's revolutionizing women's basketball.

Clark's notoriety has spread world wide and so has her Olypmic snub. I think the world wide audience feels it has been robbed of its chance to see CC on the world stage. We are watching retribution in real time. The snubb'ers are being snubbed. Poetic justice if I ever saw it. You can't even make this shit up! Imagine if they lose a game? But I do think Coach Reeve gets some credit here as well. How could she think she could behave in such a manner in front of the world without consequence? She taints the entire team before they even hit the floor.

Thursday game will be well attended by Belgium fans. Belgium borders France and not far away from Paris. 179 miles away from the border. These Networks are F'ing disgusting. The WNBA screws the TV ratings by not selecting CC. Then protect the WNBA by not reporting the viewership numbers. Networks should put the blame on the USA Committee and demand free ad space for loss revenue to the sponsors. NBC will have to give the sponsors free spots because of this after the Olympics. They had to do that in the last Summer Olympics.

DO IT COACH Make that FAN VIDEO - Let me explain - I'm a huge football/rugby/soccer fan! We are crazy, fun loving, talking smack, painting our bodies and faces, screaming screaming screaming, and in the end we all meet at a local sports bar, even with our greatest adversaries/rivalries, and have a huge party! I'm also former athlete coach and mentor to young adults in the entertainment and sports community. I feel the biggest problem in this whole Caitlin Clark WNBA situation has to do with the culture of being fans in the WNBA versus being fans in other sports.
(No, I'm not talking about the 5% racist idiots on both sides. I'm talking about pure crazy fun fan epic sports fans)
I became a Caitlin Clark fan like millions of others, I became a real Caitlin Clark fan, doing all the things that great fans do! But then I hear Gino, the women on ESPN, many of the Hall of Fame players, which I like, telling me that I'm acting with disrespect, by being crazy and nutty for CC. Then on top of that, I see the league punishing my player,CC, for actions! I feel like a 10 year-old who's running around the neighborhood having a blast with his friends and then going into old Mrs. Johnson's house for Kool-Aid and her scolding us for our rambunctious behavior.
I really feel like WNBA is a bunch of grandmas who don't want crazy fans! They are telling me that I should like A'ja Wilson, and other players as much as Caitlin Clark, and if I don't show EQUAL excitement then I'm being disrespectful. Does that happen in any other sport? Does the commissioner of the NFL and top Hall of Fame players get mad at Cleveland Browns fans because they don't cheer on the other hall of fame players.
I'm not gonna apologize for being an old dude screaming at the TV telling CC to kick their AS...@!!! Because thats what FANS DO. Why do you (Coach) and many others have to spend so much time trying to explain why CC is good? We know why she is so good.
And thay can't netuerlize us by throwing us a Double Double record to say - "SEE! There are other players who are better. We want your money and your attention but you have to behave and be respectful to all of the other players equally first before we will endorse the player you love so much. WE are not the NFL!" - Thats what it feels like.
As far as the OLYMPICS -We all know they didn't want their sorority to be invaded by CC and all her fans.
I wish they would just come out and say that. "We understand that Caitlin Clark is going to come into the league and change things up for us with the style of play that she brings and all of the millions of fans that are coming with her. We want this year's Olympics to be the last year where we recognize those that have built this league to where it is now. So we're choosing not to bring in any of this year's rookies. We are all nervous about what the future looks like for the WNBA but one thing we cannot deny is the tremendous growth that CC brings along with a few other of this year's rookies's class mainly Angel Reese and her fans."
Im sorry, COACH, but us FANS are coming and they better put plastic runners on the rug and lets in to drink our Kool AId!!!

To put labels like "new fans" and "CC fans" is so offensive and petty. I'm one of those "new" WNBA, and let me tell you something - I started watching NBA in early 90' (30 years ago) following Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Steph and the common between those is that they excel in what they do and I describe myself as basketball and NBA fan, love watching special games, amazing performances, records and out of this world class plays! The fact I don't watch WNBA is because the difference between NBA and WNBA games is day and night, both in terms of talent, speed/performance, competition and overall watchability. So, not following WNBA is only because it hurts my eyes and I have twenty other things that I can do and not waste my time with WNBA or Team USA.
The fact that I've subscribed for WNBA games this year is only because what CC brings to the table makes is good enough to catch my attention and actually want to watch Fever games. Still not exactly NBA game level, but good enough to follow what is going on. However I have zero interest watching Team USA in France, so good luck!

The ratings are embarrassing and they won’t probably even put out them ratings. If the attendance is low, then ratings are probably even lower and they can’t get away from Clark and her fan base because one of Japan’s Fans had a sign and said you need Clark to beat us so funny and the funny part about it is team USA looked over there and pointed at the guy. Clark got the whole WNBA thinking about her 24 seven but I actually think if Japan had tall girls on their team, they would’ve beaten team USA, because all they needed was a tall girl in the post that can actually score and rebound, because Japan made more threes than the whole entire team USA 😂😂😂😩😩

NOW I get it! DT's "reality coming" comment must have been about all the packed arenas and huge TV ratings following all the new hoops fans brought on by CC. So many commenters whether on podcasts or elsewhere so obviously uneducated about basketball. 🙄 I know I knew absolutely nothing having played, coached and watched for years and I'm quite certain there's many more just like me.
Good grief! Call it Karma or whatever but it certainly does appear in this case what goes around, comes around. This "old guard" mentality is just nauseating. It's becoming more obvious by the day more and more fans are growing tired of that crap!

This statistic is somewhat misleading as the games are in Europe and, as such, it should be no surprise that the EUROPEAN teams are drawing more spectators to that event. After all, it's much easier to hop on an express train from Spain (for example) than it is for a person to fly to Paris from the U.S. So, while I personally refuse to watch Team U.S.A. because of the extreme hatred the coach and some of the players have for C.C., I don't think this statistic necessarily proves anything.

I mean, we're talking about Stephen Curry, Keven Durant, LeBron James, etc. Heck, we've even got Steve Kerr on the coaching staff. So yeah, I can understand why fans in Europe would prefer watching them play Serbia (a European team) in Europe. But even if they draw a big crowd in their next game with Sudan, that doesn't mean that it has anything to do with Caitlyn Clark. But hey, you could be right, and I mean no offense--but it just seems like an apples-to oranges-comparison to me.
