- I styled my hair like this for a recent photo shoot and got so many compliments on it I had to re-create it! Here's how I did it. This style is best for fine hair that is a bob. For longer or thicker hair, you could probably skip the added hairpiece.

I appreciate the fact that she's so down to earth and tells us how she uses "blushes" for example, as both blush and eye shadow. She shows very basic and easy ideas, that everyone can do.

Love your phrase, "stop a bird in flight". Back in the late 80's and early 90's, I, my girlfriends and our big haired guy musician friends used to use Aquanet Extra Super Hold. It would stop a roach in mid-run and glue it to the wall, too!😂

I have thin, greying hair and I've discovered texture spray. I use joico or dirty sexy and it gives clean hair a "dirty" texture. Love it as I can't go without washing my hair!

I think you’re a hoot! I love your saying “Stop a bird in flight hairspray!” Which will replace my own saying “I’m single handily depleting the ozone layer!” Love your “real life” tutorial for “real life” hair lol, and your relaxed attitude. I was going to cut my hair today after growing out a short length bob and growing my fringe longer. Since seeing you I’m keeping it! I was of the misconception that as you get older you won’t suit longer hair but you have proved that with a little effort ( which I always put into my hair and appearance ) you can look stunning. Well, not as stunning as you but passable. I’m a girlie girl that likes to look feminine every day with make up and matching accessories but if my hair doesn’t “feel” right I don’t “feel” right. I suppose felt I was loosing my identity ( my hair IS me ) and I’ve realised I’m STILL me just because I’m older and getting grey I just need to embrace it. Go girl! That hair piece is genius because I like that height at the crown and sometimes you feel even superglue wouldn’t hold it so it was a 💡moment for me. Thank you heaps. My hair is very fine to start with and also gray. I listened to this video just before leaving on vacation. I ordered a hair piece on Amazo by PrettyWit for 17.99 because I wanted it to arrive before I left. Otherwise, several others sell it for less. It matched my hair perfectly. I followed most of your instructions, and the result was great for a special outing we had in Cuba. It held even if we were whirling down the highway at some point, sitting in a open top Cadillac - quite a thrill at 63! Merci Monique! By the way, here's a tip: I started taking biotine a few years back as part of a supplement for diabetes, and realized that the places that were going slightly bald on each side of my head (genetic) were very gradually filling out! I did some research, and realized that it's the biotine. I stopped those supplements, too expensive, but continued taking biotine 3000 to 5000 unit/day. It's not costly, found in all pharmacies and health food stores. The "awful" effects - it boosts hair, eyelashes, nail and body hair growth. Well my nails are long and hard, manucured or not; my hair isn't thinning anymore. It will not thicken it by much but makes it so that you stop the thinning out and fills out the balding spots. As for the body hair, since it gets fewer anyway as we get older, it's no problem. So there, I'm not getting anything out of it, I thought you might like the tip from experience for thinning hair. I was a natural chestnut brown with auburn highlights, being that my mother was a bright reddish copper red hair and my father having dark brown hair. My mother now has solid white hair and my father had the salt and pepper like yours. You are stunningly beautiful! ❤️

There is a product I use called "Style Edit" comes in many colors. It hides the scalp lines and covers thinner spots, also stays in until you wash it out...Happy Life!

My mom had a long hair piece, braided it, then pinned it, almost turbaned style, to the top of her crown. (C.1970-1973) She was the prettiest sister of seven girls, when her hair was up. She passed away, at 39, from lupus.
I always wanted to try that style, but I'm not sure how to give it a modern look.
Do you know what style that I am talking about and would you be able to do it?

I just started on my journey to grow out my grey hair. I have fine long hair and day after tomorrow I am getting 20 " cut of my hair ! I have chosen a vintage layered bob cut so my hair will just touch my shoulders I'm hoping it will help me to live with my grey roots which are much lighter than my dark brown ( colored) hair.

I really enjoy your videos. I'm 64 and have very long silver hair. As you may image, my hair is no longer thick but with waist length hair I'd love some advice on how to fix it. My Grandchildren like my long hair so cutting is out. Any auggestions?
Use same type comb and still teasing just like that.. Love it, gives perfect height. Must try that hair spray. I like hair spray, but am quite fussy. When you are 57 yrs old, you must think wisely on what you purchase.

Did many up -do's over the years...Try a lock tease and you won't need the bump or as much spray. Hold the hair up like you're doing...put your comb in few inches above root...2 short strokes down and on 3rd stroke bring the comb down to the scalp. This will create the lock tease which will give you a strong foundation to build your hairstyle on and an anchor to lock in the bobby pins.. Can do it a few times more if you want more height in the foundation of style. re: mid-shaft to ends should remain smooth.

Loved this! I have several of the same type of hairpiece, only in a medium blonde to match my hair, wore all summer long, too, for a simple, quick style, messy bun. Thanks for tips on the hairsprays, never quite sure which to buy.
Wow, I have thinning hair and had it all cut off because of this. I am used to having long hair and putting it up in a bun. I would love to be able to put it up again if I let it grow a little more. My hair is naturally curly, so this would probably help a lot! I would also like to have blonde hair instead of snow white. I have read that colouring our hair causes cancer and I have already had stomach cancer so am afraid to colour it unfortunately. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
