with five exclusive surround sound mixes of songs from Jockstrap’s second EP.
These headphone surround mixes were created for an online exhibition of artwork made for Jockstrap’s debut release on Warp Records. You can see the exhibition til June 24 at implied.gallery.
Jockstrap are Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye, an alternative pop duo based in London, who met at the Guildhall School of Music. The pair's firm footing in classical music and jazz is evident in their writing which, combined with their love of experimental and contemporary music, creates a unique and advanced approach to the pop format.
Ellery's lyrics are honest - sometimes powerful, sometimes tender, and largely influenced by Plath and Rossetti. Her songs maybe structured like jazz standards, but are then distorted by Skye's darker instrumentation and vocal manipulation, having been fed through an analog tape recorder.

A response to the coronavirus crisis from longtime Sigur Rós co-manager John Best and sound designer David Sheppard, Isolation Room is a YT channel dedicated providing the very best of binaural (aka ‘headphone surround’) recordings for maximum listening experience during lockdown.
Outside of lockdown, Isolation Room works as Loss/Gain to stage real-life surround sound events, presenting new ways of experiencing work by artists such as Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Anna Meredith, London Contemporary Orchestra, Rival Consoles, Claire M Singer, Todd Dockstader, Colin Curry Group and others, interpreted for d&b Audio’s multi-channel Soundscape system.
