Nice Video. I know this particular train very well, because I live in this area and use this route from time to time. So I want to add up some things: First: When you entered Chemnitz Main Station, to arrive the platform, you seemed a little bit lost. Sure the station is confusing., but before entering the station there is an alternative way to the platforms on the left an it have an escalator. Second I do disgaree with you about the seats in second class. This is a regional train, so you can't expect and ICE level seat. And there are other regional trains, mostly the Talent 2 motor coach from the DB, which are more unconformable then the seats in this train. Third You mentioned the pricing: Yes for one trip, it seemed very high. But this train can be used also with the So called Saxony Ticket. That costs 37,50 in First class, but you can save a lot of money, when you travel in a group up to five, because it becomes cheaper per person. Plus with this ticket you can travel with every local train, every bus and every tram line in Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony Anhalt for one day, which makes it in my opinion a very good deal. Fourth You mentioned the missing services. Again it is a regional train. The only thing what bothers me too, is the missing wifi. And last but not least This trains will be replaced at the end of this year or maybe at the start of next year with modern motor cabs. They will run with electric power and use storage batteries.
@Marijn de OV spotter There are two trains which that old coaches and one with mostly two motor coaches. But you have to hurry a little bit. They will be replaced by modern electric motor cabs at the end of the year.
These train cars are from the 1990s, maybe even older... they had been taken out of service by DB and sold to MRB/Transdev. they "refurbished" the cars (new seat covers and different paint) - my mom and grandma took this train to Chemnitz a few years ago and for elderly people there's many problems.
