One of my favorite late night (2 a.m. in Florida) uploaders. Dave, your content has taught me more about spiders than I ever thought I'd know. Thanks for all the kick ass content.
Same in Michigan!
Howdy from texas!🤠
Same here in Kentucky!
Thank you so much 🙏
And WESTERN AUSTRALIA 👍😃👍
Am I the only one enjoying Dave having a bugger of time with the first couple of spiders and then contemplating giving camera lady a go? 😂
Ahhh, some electric blue spiders just before I head to bed. These guys are so cool looking!
I hope you do a timelapse of them!!!! I'd love to see them web it up! 🕸 🕷
Ohhhh, this would be super cool to watch!
That'd b amazing to watch
i hope you film a time-elapse of them rebuilding the massive webbing. that would be a video.
At the start, I thought we were going to see "Dave's Exciting Balfouri Circus and Speedway", but they seemed content to return to a somewhat familiar home once a few neighbors joined them. Communal life sure agrees with them - they all look to be in superb condition.
Dave never asks so I will,📣 HIT THE LIKE BUTTON & SUBSCRIBE! 📣 let’s get Dave to 100k this year. ❤
Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Can’t wait to see the new decor once they web up their home.💙
Who doesn’t like a good sequel? Hope this one is a money maker too and the audience ratings will be higher. I went to an all girl school and had a blast so I hope your ladies do to. Mrs. Camera lady you were far braver than me last week, you should get an A+. Hello Mr. Beastie I think you must have a degree in interior design. ❤ Thanks for great video and the girl’s night out and back to home again😊. Annie in Kansas
❤❤❤
What excellent cinematography in this episode!
I’m loving the 2 videos a week 😊
Watching your videos has really helped me to conquer my arachnophobia, but seeing this many all at once, all moving, gave me the fear! 😂 Beautiful creatures though.
I can’t get over how beautiful this species is, I just wish they’d spend more time out on display!
Another awesome enclosure. I really do love these spiders. They look so plushy and have great coloration. I was enjoying watching them pick their spots. Thanks for sharing them.
It would be awesome to see a time-lapse of the community webbing up the enclosure from scratch!
I honestly enjoy watching your videos.
I appreciate that! ❤️🙏
Hi ya Dave and Camera Lady!!! These 2 videos have been really fun to watch!! Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you like them!❤️
Hi Dave, I've enjoyed watching the Balfouri Colony being set up, have you ever considered putting a live cam on the Colony for everyone to watch it being webbed up in real time. I. Sure it would be a massive success, and the perfect time to do it?
It would take far too long
Agreed. Secretive and adaptable. Tarantulas remember. Hobby and wild tarantulas have different memories. What I mean is they all have abilities to adapt and remember. Let’s face it as enjoyable as it is when we get to see them they are secretive and have vulnerable times in their lives where communal threatens their lives and if they had the option to move away and establish territory they would chose too. Communal is an adaptation imo for survival more than anything else. It is in the hobby more for us their care givers.
Lovely enclosure can't wait to see what they do to it. Thanks again for your awesome, informative videos. They are my favorite by far!!!
Thanks for watching!❤️🙏
I just love your videos! I always get happy when I see you've uploaded a new video!
Glad you like them!❤️❤️❤️
This video is fun. Pretty and spirited ladies.
They are so pretty. Sure glad I got to see part 2.
Great job both as always! I agree with Dave's hypothesis, manipulation of the characteristic of a T for our satisfaction does not exactly make a T communal, they tolerate like you said. Even so, the conditions of all those beautiful females shows that they are able to thrive with no issues. Each to their own, as long as the creatures are cared for and looked after 💜
Often when balfouri's are mentioned your mind snaps straight to them being "the communal tarantulas" and we consider them that way. However, as individuals they are stunning creatures in their own right.
Thanks for showcasing that with some superb camerawork.
Yes! Another great vid!!! Keep em coming Dave and camera lady😁
Thank you! Will do!
Love the Balfouries they are beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
That looks awesome...I remember watching where you put the original 30 in there! Love their colouring, with the navy blue legs and almost silver carapaces....As usual Camera Lady is right lol
Great video, thanks for educating us on communal setups.
Glad it was helpful!
Camera lady can rightly have a laugh
Cheers to a lovely and stress free rehousing 🍷
Thank you camera lady and Dave 😊
Dave: has fancy catch tubes
Also Dave: nah ill just be stubborn and use this box
Wonderful and our Sweet Camera Lady did very well with the catch cup last time! I look forward to the re-house video of today too! Take care dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady, have an awesome day as well weekend! 1👋❤🕷👍
Hardly can wait to finish work and get home to watch this 🤩
Spot on with the ciclids comparison. Didn't know you are also a fish keeper
Speaking on cichlids, I accidentally bred out a set of peacocks. Didn’t realize until I was gravel vaccing and saw fry. Immediately pulled them and grew them out. Also have a dark earth tiger that I thought was a male drop eggs about an hour ago. Sealing over them now and I’ll pull the unfertilized sack this week
Fantastic as always Dave thank you!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Such beautiful Tarantulas. I'd like to have a setup like that.
These two videos were brilliant. I've learned so much about spiders and their care. I'm looking forwards to seeing you guys at tne BTS
Come say hello ❤️👍
Great video guys thank you so much beautiful spiders xxxx
Thank you for your videos!!!
Glad you like them! ❤️
I need to start a Balfouri communal, so much fun to see them living together. Cant wait to see this webbed up soon. Nice job!
Their colors are quite beautiful; thanks for sharing!

Great video once again, best regards to you both.
Thanks, you too!🙏
Beautiful.
Really pretty spiders and it’s great to see them all settling back into their new improved home, I look forward to seeing it again when they have webbed it up. 🕸️🕷️
Lovely communal there Dave 👌🏼
AWESOME video Dave AMAZING Tarantulas had them in the past but had them in separate enclosures
Your video make me go throught my days! I love the way you (camera lady too✨️) do things! I learnt a lot from you guy so a BIG BIG THANKS for sharing this quality content with us.
Ps: I hope to go to a show there in UK in order to say hi irl some day😂💕
Thank you so much!! ❤️👌
Hello great video information and rehousing Dave
Thanks 👍
I've been thinking about keeping a balfouri communal. Now I'm sure I will because all my questions are answered now 😊
My plan is definitely to have a communal someday. I want to save up enough to get at least 12.
A great video. Hopefully you’ll let us have a Quick Look in a few weeks to see how they’ve webbed the enclosure up. 👍🏻
I’ve been so excited about getting half an hour to watch this through. ❤❤
Dave’s score 6/10 😂😂😂
Thank you for the video Dave , I enjoyed it.🥰
You are very welcome 🙏
I'm imagining Dr. Malcolm from Jurassic Park visiting the beastie room.
Dr. Malcolm: But again, how do you... how do you know... they're all female? I mean did someone go in there and look under all the spiders' skirts?
Dave: Yes, we sexed them. It's really not that difficult.
Dr. Malcolm: And how do you... know... they won't prey on... each other?
Dave: To feel the need, they would have to have territory to defend. We simply deny them that.
Dr. Malcolm: Deny them that?
😂
❤❤❤❤
Very nice video, I also had the problem that I never saw my group. At some point I put a thin sheet of Styrofoam under the terrarium. For some reason this worked wonders. Now I can almost always see some. And they started building a massive web. Fortunately, I have never suffered a loss due to cannibalism. Now I keep seeing baby spiders, even though I keep them very close together.
I'm going to have to add at least one of this species to my collection!
Brilliant video Dave, really enjoyed it, those balfouri are in superb condition and that's a fantastic set up, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
Great vid Dave ..
interesting times to see if all is well PROFF with this rehouse. some great information on keeping the balfs in a communal set up. amazing looking spiders. some great footage CAMERA LADY, many thanks guys and take care
There's only one rule in the Balfouri household, no getting their feet wet. That second female that gained entry right into the water bowl is not happy.
camera lady had less escapees taking them out than you had putting them back in lmao. remind me who is the spider keeper and who runs the camera?
😂😂😂😂
You're correct about cichlids. I used to breed several species of them, some species would tolerate each other in large numbers, then become intolerant once you gave them space.
Have you seen Ohio fish rescues videos ? They have loads of cichlids, in a massive 20ft tank. They also have a group of them, in the 58,000 gallon monster pond. They managed to go through the filter systems & ended up in the monster pond 😂
@@laurabear4899 I have not, will check that out. Thanks!
@@gcrauwels941 you’re welcome
@@gcrauwels941 I do like cichlids 🙂 I also like parrot fish & catfish 😂
Imagine a 1000+ in a huge enclosure that's similar to 1000 gal tank.
Alright dave love your channel I've had 2 incidents now with both my geniculatas where they have damaged their fangs by poking them through the mesh of their komodo enclosures! I only noticed because the broken fang tips of the most recent incident where on the top of the mesh! I never knew what caused the first incident which was the more worse and I had to injure freshly moulted crickets for her to be able to eat. Luckily she moulted and grew them back and now it's happened again to my other one but the fangs are not as stumpy on her so she can still manage to eat although it takes longer for her to finish a meal so I'm just feeding her up now to promote a moult but otherwise I've never had any problems with the lids on the enclosures
Very strange
Hi Dave I really enjoyed watching you create a new enclosure for those beautiful spiders. All of the information that you talk about is very interesting, and important information. I do not have any spiders, but they are all so pretty, and i find them very fascinating in their behavior, and intelligence. I did not get the chance to leave a comment on the excellent job that camera lady did catching all of the spiders, and putting them in containers. Their is always one that escapes😅❤🕷🕸Cindy USA
So nice of you❤️❤️❤️
Balfouri spiders kind of similar to Abyssinian cats.
Absolutely fabulous video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! It's very much appreciated! ❤
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Can any other species of tarantulas be able to have a communal setup lmk ty Dave
I do like them balfouri baboons but for my first baboon I ended up getting the harpactira pulchripes SMALL 3CM SLING, 🕷🖤
I will be getting a balfouri but i don't think ill be doing a commune 👍
My set is nearly the same as Dave’s except I have a large hide and mostly covered in substrate. All 10 of my juveniles hang out on the cork bark hide but some webbing with tunnels to get out.
You need to add one male and name him "Sir Galahad the chaste"
Its only African cichlids that you can keep that way Dave, you wont get the same result if you kept other cichlids in cramped conditions, they would fight until there was only one left. Although some American cichlids if raised together will tolerate other tank mates. But I think you are spot on x
Maybe it’s just me, but since you all had to pack up, and move, and Camera Lady wound up in front of the camera more and more, Dave more often uses the pronoun of WE. I think that has been great thing. Another great video you two. Take care.
Hi dave
🕸🕷🕸👍👍😉⭐
When you didn't see them for a while, and you didn't know how many you had, how did you know how much to feed them?
The food is what we gage the commune on
If you turn off the lights on the walls and use the light on the celling above the table i think it will fix a lot of your glare issues :)
Amazing stuff. Is that their forever home now? How long might they live? I want some!
Yes they will stay in here now 😊
lovely spiders, i still don't want a communal setup with them :)
1st?
The logs you used in this enclosure Dave, are they just logs you've taken from outside and stripped the bark?
They are sticks from the wild yes , I use the ones that are totally dried out and hard 👍
Out of curiosity Dave, would you suggest misting the webbing for spiders like the OBT and female Pink Toes? Even though i have water dishes in with mine ive never seen them drink out of the cups i have in there but they eat fine still.
Yes we do sometimes spray the webbing 👍
Hello everything is fine? I don't know if you say it in the video, but I would like to clarify this doubt. I believe that the more Balfouri for a communal, the better...but what number would you recommend to start with? thank you very much.
Could you show the set up in a few weeks time to see the webbing
👍👍🙏
What would happen if you put another species of communal spider in that same enclosure? Would the 12 kill it or could it live ‘in peace’ with the other 12?
Since there are that many in there do they each individually Web up an area each ? And since the last setup lasted two years before you cleaned it I am sure a they use the bathroom in there doesn't it get dirty and smell after some time?
they all share the same tunnels 😂👍
Hello Dave, with several adults living in one enclosure, they all have to be the same species I assume?
Yes they are all balfouri
How potent is their venom? Could it potentially be fatal for a small dog/cat?
No I dont think so
Dave what has happened to your fishing spider and centipede?
They have both passed unfortunately
@@daveslittlebeasties That 's a shame.
Is their a chance a female is currently pregnant? Meaning males could possibly end up in the colony?
Yes always possible
Is a 12x12x12 or 18 big enough for a pair m/f ??
Plenty big enough
@@daveslittlebeasties thank you
Nope, nope, nope! We don’t want any spider fun and games!
