I think on of the most freeing feelings there are is when you are scared to try a trick, thinking of all the ways you think you WILL get hurt, and then you try it, and you DONT get hurt! Then you feel ready to actually do it! And sure enough, a few tries in you stomp it! Thanks for the reminder of the process!!! Cool vid, congrats! (and Voted !)
I learned this trick from a local guy down at Mayan Watersports (Playa Del Carmen QR MX). I did it sitting and with no wakeboard on. Once I could consistently land on my feet, then I tried it with the wakeboard. Keeping the arms in, waiting for the line tension and the chin on the leading shoulder (much like a simple boat hs backroll) was all it took to initiate and then it was pretty easy to land. It's a fun one for sure!
Congrats, David! I was hyped till the very end - is he gonna land it? Is he?... And in the end I literally raised my hands and cheered, like I did it myself!
love your stuff mate, i know the struggles of this trick and beleve it or not its a lot easier to do it switch if your a goofy! this also menas you can really square off and get a lot more tension. you can then really pop and get some height.
You are jumping bit too fast thus not allowing cable to do all the job for you. Just wait a bit longer so that hands are bit more extended and goes with cable forward, by that time you should feel gentle but powerful pull from cable and only at that moment jump and jump up not forward. Cable will do the rest and your jump should be higher thus allowing to have proper rotation. Also do not lean backwards, be straight, opposite force just creates bigger pull on your hands and setting off forces that pull you up and forward thus not contributing to the jump. Another thing, squat a bit more already before cable starts to pull so that you are more in your knees. Try to find that sweet spot where you become sort of part of cable, hands start to straighten out, add upwards jump and you will fly :) It could help also to start from flat and just do high jump without rotation, after you catch that proper point of release, rotation will be just as small thing to add. I am not close to you in wakeboarding capabilities, but these things helped me to get in water with a quite spectacular jump :)
Haahah very true! Probably the third most difficult trick. 1. Toeside wake to wake. 2. Not butchecking on a toeside front roll. 3. The flip dock start 👀

No way!! That's class! awesome, I'll try that next time!
Sick! It's cool to you learning new tricks and posting the process.
Plenty more to come as I’m about to begin my comeback!
Nice one!

hahahah love that! thank you so much!
I love how he rides with that board, not even having the base fully attached to it anymore.
I love how he was laying down, class
I know it’s mental. I find it so much harder!
You are amazing at this!!
Haha thank you!
U nailed it!
Thank you!

So cool man🤙
Difficulty is the the eye of the wakeboarder. The pursuit of progression was real!!! You stomped it!
haha no sweeter feeling than landing something that takes many many tries!
Where are you?) where is this park?)
JB for the win
Fire up 🔥

this is the new challenges for my sons, 100 euros if they succeed (with 3 boys it could be another expensive day soon)
hahahahah I laughed!

disclaimer,
this isn't the most difficult trick in wakeboarding.
at all...

👀
It’s good seeing u fall for a whole video
heart attack, slim chance o KGB dockstart is way harder than this one
You need to go switch. The rope is getting in your way and messing up your rotation. It's way easier behind the rope as opposed to in front of it.
Way I think that must be it!
Nah it's not hard.
Haha for me it’s so tricky. Struggle to get my head around it!
