All this actions are absolutely irredeemable.

I love how the Batter keeps his typically stoic expression throughout most of the animation but breaks at 2:20 with that grin of twisted ecstasy. It’s so jarring both because of the context and the character who it comes from. Divine animation, perfectly captures everything about OFF

But it is not an animal. and prey did not fall from that sure hit. I think, that this moment is a set-up for 2:20, which conveys the exact same emotion, but amplified by a hard fight before, this time he cannot contain his smile. Do you not see it?
I gotta say I love the way the addons were used in the fight, like Omega turning into a camera lens for the photo attack, or Alpha literally turning into a set of brackets

@@yggdrasilburnes Come to think of it, it does have much of the same surreal family anxiety that Eraserhead invokes. I think there's a lot more applicability to OFF than Eraserhead, probably in part because it focuses on a lot more, like the Guardians and their implied journey from idealistic utopians to bitter dictators, but the relationship between Hugo, the Queen, and the Batter has always interested me, especially since it's just as surreal and hard to fully pin down as anything else in the Room.
I adore that you actually took the moves each character used, and envisioned them in such an epic way. It really transformed what many feel to be a very easy boss, into dire brutal conflict it was always meant to be. That was the cherry on an absolutely delicious cake. For some reason there's something so powerful in the way the music speeds up when they're not even fighting anymore, the Batter is just calmly finishing the job while revealing more of his "terrifying ducky" form
I like the allegory for a father having to fight everything and everyone so that he can put his terminally ill child out of their misery. Wether or not you think putting down people when they’re reaching a point where the pain is too much to live through, is okay, its a grey zone, and the batter is either a monster or a savior depending on your opinion. I don’t think the batter is evil, i just think he’s tired of seeing his kid in pain. … But theres other theories about the story of the game too- one could easily make an arguement for an abusive household.
I think the allegory is also the differences of opinions on this manner, one being of mercy killing while the other of prolonging the end in hopes of recovery. Either standpoint is valid but the differences in opinion on such a drastic situation is why the conflict feels so significant
Euthanasia will always be a hard topic. Leaving a person alive when the only fate awaiting them is suffering is generally seen as a bad thing. That's why the Judge is helping us thorough the whole game. But in the end doing the deed, pulling a switch requires a person to be a bit of a monster. After all it's a human life that is ended. That's why at the very end Judge turns on the Batter and when we take the position against euthanasia we fight a monster form of the Batter
God imagine a remaster of OFF in this style. Literally one of the COOLEST things I've ever witnessed. The battle between the Queen & Batter is one of my top fights in gaming, and this was so brilliantly realized. 10/10 peak content

This is absolutely incredible. The choreography, the creativity on how each move would look based purely on description from the game.. the only two things that stray from the games I can think of are (though you have creative freedom) : -The queen not doing her bonechilling lines -The batter not being stoic and serious all the way through But your interpretations don't stray so far on those two points that it disturbs me. It's still great stuff.
I like that he was expressive. As much as The Batter’s main characteristic is his stoical-ness, him staying entirely deadpan while he kills his lover is, while unnerving, also unrealistic. Of all the moments in the game where he would show some expression, it would be now.
Not entirely sure if I read Batter as enjoying what he does, but could be it plays a part in keeping him motivated at getting the task done. He was created to be a destroyer, someone to wipe the slate clean whether it was a conscious or a subconscious desire that formed him. He didn't choose what he is, he cannot unsee what he was made to see, he cannot ignore the task that defines his very existence. Is it enjoyment that drives him, is it stoic determination to do what must be done so he too may cease being? Is his temporal existence a joy to be had, is it a manifestation of suffering like the rest of the reality around him? The power to create a reality, to populate it with entities and give them powers, a purpose, and he had to be the destroyer. Why? He wasn't asked, he couldn't have been asked as he didn't exist before his role was already decided. So he does what he must as he knows nothing else. If there's a power that can create anything and anyone and that power made him to be like this, is there any point to questioning it? What good would it even do to question any of it? The world is broken, decaying, waiting to be put down and he was created to answer that call. He could've been created to restore the world, to cure it, fix it, yet he wasn't. The creator asks for an end, so an shall be granted.
Woah! I love the shaky movement of everything, it reminds me so much of the way the Batter and Add-Ons kinda jitter around in the game! Also, I dunno if this was intentional, but I love how the Batter's hat at 2:50 makes him look more like the long-beaked monster he's revealed to be at the end of the game (as Sugar describes him: "the terrifying ducky"). Also, I noticed there only seems to be castle and queen chess pieces...the queen seems obvious, being the Queen, but I wonder if the castle is supposed to represent the Batter? The Batter even makes his killing shot after jumping from the top of a castle piece (when earlier he fell off a queen piece)...I would say it does suit his personality; the castle is arguably the second-most powerful piece behind the Queen, and having straight forward and headstrong movement matches the Batter's stubborn no-nonsense attitude. Quite lethal if used effectively to pin the King (ESPECIALLY if there are little to no "pieces on the board", or NPCs left alive at the end of the game). I suppose the best piece to combat a rook would be the Queen, and if she's gone...then the castle could easily get to the King (Hugo). Again, dunno if it was intentional, but it's a cool thought nonetheless!

So very hard to make art for off and make it feel like it's part of the game; the style, the vibes and even the raw emotions from the game that stick with you for a very long time, I have seen very few capture so masterfully. update. i've literally been playing for like 6 hrs straight i'm going crazy why did it take me so long to play a game i *knew* was gonna be so good. and damn did she deliver. anyway just finished queen fight and came back here for a rewatch; full circle! genuinely thank you this animation was the push i needed

I was putting off watching this because of the uneasiness of the audio, i kept on thinking “oh this sounds super unnerving, i dont wanna get into that today” i was NOT expecting that to evolve into an epic battle theme(despite the title) oh my god. This is an amazing animation and is my favorite depiction of OFF’s final boss.

I knew when I saw the Fear and Hunger one I had to check for OFF. I LOVE this. It doesn't really have the same atmosphere but I'd love to see a Katana Zero animation with your style
So very hard to make art for off and make it feel like it's part of the game; the style, the vibes and even the raw emotions from the game that stick with you for a very long time, I have seen very few capture so masterfully. This animation is incredibile, I find myself coming back to it frequently and every single time I am left shaken and amazed. Hard to describe with words.

From my understanding The Batter represents Hugo’s subconscious wish to end his suffering brought by his illness. Being thought up after Hugo reads the baseball comic in the real world.

I was putting off watching this because of the uneasiness of the audio, i kept on thinking “oh this sounds super unnerving, i dont wanna get into that today” i was NOT expecting that to evolve into an epic battle theme(despite the title) oh my god. This is an amazing animation and is my favorite depiction of OFF’s final boss.
