- North Macedonia's first female president says she won't use the name North Macedonia.
Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, 70, was the candidate for the nationalist opposition party VMRO-DPMNE, which also won parliamentary elections, raising concerns about the country's relations with neighbors and its EU membership negotiations.

We aren't ancient macedonians you idiots, we never claimed to be their descendants, we just live on the land that they controlled in their empire (most of it is now in greece in their region Makedonia, but there are also two other parts of the ancient macedonian land, the one is the Vardar part which is the territory of my country and the Pirin territory that is part of Bulgaria), also in 20 century the greek government called us slavo-macedonians or macedonian slavs in the census of 1930 i think so the greek and bulgarian arguments that we exist since 1945/1991 doesn't make any sense.

Let's speed up to some years ago: Slavic people took over the area, as well as Turks etc, BUT they did not consider choosing to maintain THEIR roots, no, they chose to "steal" part of the identity of people that were already settled so that they blend in until some high officials decided that it was even better to change things up a bit so that the language that was NOW spoken more, which was slavic with some greek here and there, was to be considered the "Macedonian" language which of course is proven wrong as the Macedonian Greek dialect has nothing to do with slavic roots. This was based on experience from our civil war when the former Yugoslavians used to mostly still self-identify as ethnic Bulgarian ("Macedonians" in a regional sense not ethnic). You know back when the US State Department's official position was no such ethnic group as Macedonians exists.

This is the correct direction, you would think once the name was changed and entry to NATO was confirmed but yet no NATO membership so the prespa agreement is void. Also it was a sham of an agreement where a quarem was not met, more then 50% of the population did not vote so there are many issues this president brings a bright light to the Macedonia people .

One mistake both Bulgarian and Greek governments have made is not working together on this issue. Both countries should be supporting each others mutual positions in the dispute. @@MakedonskaAkropolaMKD Personally I think in this specific scenario they won't respond for multiple reasons. 1) It might cause a domino effect (Middle East). 2) Their economy will collapse which will lower their GDP per capita which now stands at (10,000$). 3) in case we decide to remove you from nato for breaking the prespa agreement which your county has signed , and then turkey decides to attack us they violate agreements and will get strong sanctions. Personally I don't support war and conflict on any form but that doesn't mean that your small leaders can say whatever they want.
