The case has also brought domestic violence into the spotlight in the country, as UN figures suggest at least 400 women die every year from spousal violence. He sent his cousin to delete the CCTV footage and to drive around with her cellphone, going to the gym she used to go to, etc., to create false data/"proof" that she left the restaurant alive. He asked the trial to be broadcast so he could "prove" his innocence, claiming he had been framed due to his political ties and that his wife had gotten herself hurt by throwing herself into objects, then eventually hitting her head on the toilet and dying due to that injury.
HOWEVER, thankfully, even though a lot of the CCTV footage did end up being destroyed, not ALL of it was. That's how we know he was inside the restaurant for almost 24hrs, actively assaulting her for close to 8 hours. She was stripped, beaten, recorded, made to claim things she did not do, beaten again, and again, and again. She was dragged from the hallway into the bathroom by him, and when she managed to lock herself in the bathroom stall at a given point, he BROKE THE DOOR DOWN to get to her.
He called his psychic (not a psychiatrist, an actual psychic) instead of a doctor when she wouldn't wake up, and only got worried when he needed to meet Putin, but couldnt have their secret service scan the building prior to the meeting because she was still there inside one of the VIP rooms, actively dying.
He dined with a food influencer in the middle of all this, and what's most disgusting is that amidst all this, he's claiming *_she_* was the violent one when it was discovered during her autopsy that Saltanat had a *ONE-MONTH OLD* BRAIN HEMORRHAGE, on the day of her murder. This poor woman, we have not even one ounce of all the pain, abuse, humiliation, and pure terror she must have gone through during her marriage to this evil, vile man.
God, I hope he suffers.

The reason he is the ex economy minister was because he was thrown out of office and was sentenced 10 years on bribery charges but was given a presidential pardon after serving for only 2. He even served as an assistant to the former president so it’s highly unlikely he’ll complete his full sentence or even half of it unfortunately

I don’t know much about Kazakhstan. I’m from the US and even i’m hearing about this. Bishimbaev is genuinely one of the most disgusting man i’ve ever heard. He’s not a man. He will never be a man. His family as well, they are so unbelievably disgusting. Their attitude and actions is straight out insulting. I don’t even think they’re humans at this point. I don’t personally know Saltanat but I know she is such a beautiful person inside and out. The world would be so much better if there were more Saltanat’s in it. But the world is not better…because Saltanat is not here anymore. Her family is so incredibly strong and she is so lucky to have a family stand up for her. We can never forget her. The worst thing about this is how hard Bishimbayev, his mother and sister have made the lives of Sultanat's family after her death. They spread so many rumors; including one that Sultanat's older brother is a pedo who SA'd Bishimbayev's 10 year old daughter. Bishimbayev's second ex-wife, the one before Sultanat, had to come out and refute that statement. The lies spread by those three to damage Sultanat's reputation and hurt her family have no bounds. It's truly disgusting.

I love Kazakhstan and its people. This horrendous crime against such a beautiful woman is just sickening, how a man could do something like this to his wife is incomprehensible.
I hope this family finds some peace through proper justice against this monster, the death penalty would be too good for him.
How could he not be guilty, the evidence is there on the video footage. The lady was helpless. Just because he’s has high authority etc… it doesn’t give him the rights to beat and murder his wife. If he gets away with it, then it will give rights to anyone to beat and murder their spouse. This was his action and he should be held accountable for it. What a disgusting disgraceful person. It will “probably “ cost him jail term but it cost that woman her life. No one (man or woman) has any rights to lay hands on their spouse.
He is not remorseful,he said unintebtional,he was punching and kick I ng her it not a slsp,he lefted her for hours without side or calling for Help.

Justice won. Yesterday he was sentenced for 24 years and his brother for 4 years for not calling to ambulance on time. Prosecutor is a woman and was fighting for justice. Her phrases are now popular in social media among young girls in ex soviet countries. She is a real fighter for justice, we are so proud
Men who practice domestic abuse always deny, deny, deny. As long as it is men who make the laws, they will never make the laws strong enough to properly protect the victims of the abuse men can heap upon women. I don’t imagine that, even if found guilty of his lovely young wife’s murder, he will ever spend much time in jail, let alone 20 years. And, really, 20 years?! He should at least have to spend as many years in prison as was his wife’s age when he killed her. If it can’t be “an eye for an eye,” then let it be “a year for a year.”
Imagine being her parents but also her brother and sister ... worst pain on earth.

In fact many women from historically islamic cultural areas in Russia and in countries neighbouring Russia (regions like Caucasus and CIS countries in Central Asia (like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc ) run away to areas where ethnic majority are Russians and try to find Russian husbands for themselves, Russian men are raised for the most part by women, so they generally much softer and respectful than husbands in their cultures. There are sadists and everywhere in the world, Russian men are for sure not the worst among nations. Russia's population has much more females than males for the obvious reasons, so Russian society is much more feminist than people think.
I have just seen he got 24 years in prison.....I pray ....this time....they actually keep him in there for the full 24years!! If they had kept him in prison the last time, for his full sentence, he never would have met nor killed his wife! It is disgusting how so many people saw and heard him as he was killing his wife over all those hours, and no one called police, no one stepped in, no one dared to do much of anything!!! Weak men abuse women!
