I agree the creativity is genius and the first Balmain runway show I enjoyed mainly because there's no instamodels flooding the runway with their tacky walks and mediocre looks.
Johnny Gutierrez I couldn't agree more...I kept seeing the word edit in flashing neon lights the whole show through. He has great ideas, but at one point I was seeing, banding, piping, enlarged fishnet, ruffles and cutouts all in one dress. It read a bit inexperienced (though well crafted). It just wasn't up to the usual Balmain standard that Olivier has set for himself.
Now THIS is how you design for millennials! This is FASHION. We don't want cheap, junior Forever 21...we want dynamic, bold and interesting pieces that one can feel good about investing in. This collection was youthful but not immature. I don't know if he just feels empowered by the reputation of his label and how he's been received historically, but Olivier takes some damn chances and they usually pay off. He'c created a signature that's unmistakable but he evolves it through the seasons. He doesn't feel chained to the same silhouettes, techniques or treatments, but when you see his show, without fail, every season, you can say Balmain. Am I someone who would wear any of these clothes? Probably not. Are these pieces what I would call "timeless"? No, they're very NOW. But this collection is a triumph, nonetheless.
Is this a Dream???? Just look at the casting, oh I just can't tell you how much I've missed my Russian 🇷🇺 babes... 😍💘Now this is a hf runway... 👌👏 P's. Cameraman still sucks... 👎🎥
of course. Think how is amazing take a bus with ...osp.....only limousine for this collection. Skirt with "volants" are not wearable in a normal life. I think that THE BEST COLLECTION is a collection wearable. Not only in special occasion. Well. I love Olivier. But this collection is not his best.

The collection is OK for me, after Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, Jaquemus and many others Balmain seems to stick to its formula, which is nothing new but sometimes they used to shake things up a little bit so this for me comes as predictable and uninspiring. Some pieces are great but in general is very "last season"
To let natasha open the show, will be overshadowing natalia. To let natalia open, natasha will always gonna be the second line up. but this balmain show is fair enough. the beauty opened, the queen closed..thump up...
The proportion of some of the clothes are really bad, it makes the models either really short or fat. I wonder how they will look on the customers who are not models :/

Eu acredito que seja uma “identidade” balmain, assim como as outras grifes tem suas particularidades. Se víssemos franjas e babados em outros desfiles já falaríamos “imitou a balmain”. Eu acho super bacana as criações dele, sempre autênticas.

Luis Mejia I think that’s ‘cause they are somehow a watered-down version of what the good runway model should be. Dare I say - very average. Personally I find their body structure not “edgy” enough for runway.
Definitely saw better collections in Paris, but his line-up makes up for it in my opinion. You can never beat having someone like Natasha Poly closing your show, and having Magdalena, Karolina (nearly lost it when I saw her), Jourdan, and Alessandra in this show makes it so much better. Or maybe it's the fact that there's no insta-models on this runway.

Considerably a great sellout internationally recognized -- some things which are especially well suited ones that spur Tokyo Fashionistas looking for the latest in exceptional Black 'n White combis. Or the Brits. Such slurry sultry plasticity. (Ersatz the boots or other footwear... not included.)
I'm so bored of this House ! What he did with the digital and global campaigns for the brands are genius, But in terms of making clothes, he doesn't make me dream, at ALL !! I've ALREDAY SEEN and seen again those pieces !
