When tornadoes begin touching down throughout their part of the state, Christi worries not only for the kids at home, but the rest of the family out on the road in the dangerous weather.

I get scared of storms well I was surprised we didn’t get hit to bad
I’m fine with severe storms as long as I’m watching from a distance, but if it turns tornadic or it gets too close to my house, I will be in my hallway since I don’t have a basement. My bathroom has a window.
When I’m in extreme severe storms (I live in Illinois), we go in our hallway, shut all the doors because they all have at least one window, and grab at least two blankets and pillows for each person. My mother has been in a wheelchair for over five years, so it’s difficult to get her down on the floor and safe. We usually push the wheelchair right outside where the doorway of the hallway and living room would be.

I live in Illinois and I know what it’s like for severe thunderstorms
In 1985 there was an EF5 tornado 2 miles away from my dads house. He was ten when it happened and it was in southeast of Ohio and northwest of Pennsylvania and after that tornado, he was not afraid of storms, and he was outside, not even knowing it was happening but it was an EF5 tornado 2 miles away from his house.

In 2011 there was an E-F5 tornado in Joplin and that was where I used to live and it was devastating it also lifted my cousin’s house’s roof a little bit. I was five when this happened.

I was once on my way to school on the bus, the sky was filled with ugly green clouds, lightning, and rain. When we got to the school, they started to send out tornado watches to the area, and we couldnt leave cause of the weather. I forgot my phone at home so i couldn't keep my family updated since we were like in the middle of all this chaos. A couple hours later, i was in my math and science class, i was kinda dozing off cause i just wanted to sleep the storm out, but when i opened my eyes i looked out the window and i swore i saw a funnel cloud in the patch of trees. I didnt know, and i still dont know to this day, if it was an actual funnel cloud cause there were some trees in the way. Even if it wasnt a funnel cloud, it still scared me half to death. 😣😨

I never been in a tornado but my mom and dad my uncle John and his wife when to the outer banks your beach in a hurricane and it was bad and my mom said the roads had been flooded with water from the rain and a lot of houses had broken windows, roofs and siding 🌧💨🌬⛈🌩⚡️🌫🌊💦💧
It is crazy the devastation they can cause isn't it?

I will stay up as late as we are under warnings and usually just put the little ones to sleep in the living room so they are close to the basement.

I live in Oregon and we don’t really get storms normally but every single time that we get a storm here it lasts for not that long and the power would be expected to go out but every time that we do get storms here it just passes😂
Tornadoes are rare here in the UK but there was one in the UK back in 2007 in fact we don't really get tornadoes in the UK

You guys sure gat a lot of tornadoes. I live in St. Louis, Missouri and whenever there’s tornadoes I always get scared because of there being green skies and humid air.
I hate tornadoes but for some reason a tornado always touches down on the last day of school for some reason! ( I live in New Jersey)

We nearly had a tornado here in the UK a few years ago. It was just like the weather you had and the tornado touched down only for 2 minutes and only a small shop was destroyed. PHEW that was TOO close! I pray for you in the future. :D

When we were leaving my house to go to my grandma's house so i could receive a gift sense it was almost my bday, THE SIRENS SOUNDED AND I LIVE BY THE SIREN!
On the way there, Me and my dad's phone went off at about the same time. It was a tornado warning. I was sooo scared so I was texting my mom. No tornado any where. I got an outfit. IT IS SOOOOO CUTE!!

What we do for tornadoes, we never get any in Pickerington, Ohio. But in like all around the state we do, so when we get tornado warnings. We go in the bathroom, bring our phones to see the warnings are going, and we also get a mattress. But I’ve never been in a tornado before.

One day I was at school! The sky WAS BLACK and it was storming! But their was no tornado!!! But I was so scared! I was crying! My best friend was helping me be happy again! And my teacher was trying to get my class to stop talking because she needed to get us down into our school basement! I WAS SO SCARED! But thank goodness their was no tornado!
There were tornadoes touching down in my county 1 year ago. It was kind of devastating. It was EF-0 - EF-1

I love the comment from Zane about "matching shoes" so pleased the tornado passed without causing any damage, they must be very frightening, the thunder and lightening I could cope with but not 150mph winds, no wonder you were relieved when Matt and the kids got back home safely, phew 😊😊
He was so excited to get matching clothes with Aspen, he even got matching socks, lol :P If we are all together it is less scary, but when they were driving and trying to outrun the storm I was quite nervous.

I'm scared of lightning too
Lightening is so unpredictable and there is really no warning to where it is going strike that I would have to say it freaks me out a bit too.
If I lived somewhere with tornados like Oklahoma ( I live in the UK ) I would DIE!!!!!!! I hate lightning so much. I would be more scared of lightning then the tornado 🌪 DD
I know it can come from the ground and from the sky and it makes fires and electricut you it's dangerous and scary.... but also cool and peaceful at the same time isn't it? well I think so.

I love watching bad weather videos because they’re cool. But one it actually happens to me, I get freaked out. I live in Florida. So we get storms very often and they’re pretty bad. A normal thunderstorm always turns into a tornado warning but I’ve never experienced an actual tornado during a thunderstorm warning. Except at school in third grade, we got 7 tornado warnings in one day(one touched down). During hurricane Irma a tornado touched down, but it never got near us... I wanna be a meteorologist but I’m too scared.. idk what this was but whatever

I live south of Tallahassee, Florida and a few months ago we had a three tornadoes in one day. One touched down between a friends house where we were and my moms house that was literally 5-10 minutes away with my daughter. My mom kept calling me to give me updates. When I was in 5th grade in 2005-2006 my class was learning about the weather and we noticed it was getting dark/ black. We all went to the windows and could see the top of the funnel (wasn’t on the ground) and while we noticed the clouds we also noticed the sky was a blue/green/yellow color. They made the announcement as a drill because of the younger kids. It ended up jumping the school.
I never liked the idea of being at school during a tornado. I always wanted to be home with my parents.
Back in 2011, my city had an EF5 close to our home. Nobody was hurt, but our power was out across the city for a week and a couple of our friends had to run to a shelter, since where they were staying was destroyed.
That had to be terrifying

My mom loves all storms
In 2003 there was an EF5 tornado in Oklahoma and I was so scared. I was hiding in the bathrooms in my school with my friend Abby Ritter and she told me the last thing she said to her sister was that she hated her and I was so sad when I heard that😭 once the tornado was over, our teacher said it was okay to go outside then my friend Abby told me her grandpa always came to the school to pick her up and she saw his car smooshed up on top of other cars. Then she found her grandpa and he was okay. We had an outside school by the way. My friend Abby said to me that the school was not that bad but no, it was bad. The school was destroyed. It was a sad day😭😭😭
