      Agree,to turn the tables on the irresponsible parents I would take temporary custody over the nephews,then hire the stepsister as the nanny,only under that circumstances the stepsister could move in with the husband "specifically to grant the wellbeing of the children", however they will have a time limit to get back on their tracks in order to recover custody of the kids, because as they put it "involves innocent kids".

    Story 4: Most people under the influence of anesthesia would call for the mother, regardless of their closeness, because the mother's presence is comforting enough. Also, most hospitals only allow one visitor in the room in 5 minutes turn, the OP should've just waited. Totally the jerk in this situacion.

    story 3: the parents would not have ever tried to reconcile with her if they did not need money. Additionally, when she called it sinner money they doubled down and said "Where did you go wrong" instead of apologizing and saying they no longer felt it was a sin.
    If you have never been disowned by your parents, you don't understand what it's like. You are literally thrown into the world with no safety net and most of the time for things that a parent should forgive their child for. If a parent disowns a child, they should follow through and not come crying back the moment the child is more successful.

I speak from my own experience, when someone is coming off an anesthesia, the person cannot think clearly. It happened to me that when I was coming off an anesthesia I called for my mother and said "Mom, please turn off the lights, I want to sleep" and I don't even remember saying that, It was my mother that told me what happened! In the inheritance story, OP is not the jerk even if their decision leaves two children homeless. As much as family should always be there to support one another, that does not mean that the moment you realize you've made a mistake that will haunt your children, you put the responsibility on someone else's shoulders while crying about how unfair the world is. You are responsible for your own children, as someone who lives with a person who literally acts like he does everything and that the world owes him while he works for less than minimum wage by *choice* and has never considered changing jobs to make even his own life significantly better; I can't tell you how frustrating it is to sit there and listen to someone blame everyone else for the issues they themselves are in control of.

    • @koalaeucalyptus

      YES. That story pissed me off so much because of the sheer entitlement shown by the brother in law. Demanding money and shelter for 4-5 people is absurd, and they should be humble and embarrassed to even have to ask that if that's something they caused themselves. And if a father truly is thinking about his family, he'd gladly take the offer of shelter for his wife and kids, and go find a place to stay somewhere else, just because that would mean his family would be safe and getting the help they need.

    Story 4- Wife is the jerk. I've had dozens of surgeries over the years and I almost always ask for my mom to come when I came out of it, even if I knew she wasn't there when I went in. Mom is a comforting thing for some people. Blaming someone when their high on meds like that, for wanting their mom after surgery, is petty and childish,

    • @dragonfliesnh4204
      @dragonfliesnh4204 2 года назад +2

      Yup, me too! Every time I've had surgery and was coming out of it, I always cry and ask for my mom, even as an adult. It's a reaction and something I can never control. When I had surgery and was with my ex-fiancé, he understood this and was never offended when this happened. He was told ahead of time that this would most likely happen and it did. Mothers are usually someone who is there to comfort their kids when they don't feel well and anesthesia does make people revert to their childhood and feelings as they are waking up. The OP was so selfish and unreasonable even after she told that this is normal by a nurse.

But she was completely justified in what she's done so far in denying and telling them off. Would just be nice to show them it takes a non-christian to do the right thing.

      Stripper Story:
      The parents didn't bat an eye when they left their daughter alone, but now have no problem asking for her help after about a decade. She is not at all obligated to help them after what they did to her, and she should not feel guilty about doing so. However, they are her parents after all, and in their time of need, and knowing that they have medical condition, it's a little sensitive topic.

OP sharing their house with their sister, plus kids, would only end in tears and frustration. There are plenty of services out there that could help the sister. She could also get a job. The fact that the guy jumped from, "Can you do us a favor?" to "You should give us half your money." shows what kind of guy he is. It also wouldn't be a solution since they'd already blown twice that amount, already. If he cared about his wife and kids, he'd agree to those terms so they have a roof over their heads and then do everything in his power to afford a place of their own.

And then the other person‘s the asshole for not bending to their will. It’s just ridiculous how people think. And you know, I’m sorry but maybe the idea of her children and her being homeless will light a fire under their ass. Because if he gives her anything, she’s not gonna win lesson nothing will change. She’s gonna be taking advantage and utilizing her children as a tool to manipulate guilt and bully others into complying with what she wants.
    The fact is the sister and the modern law sound like they have a low bit of growing up to do still. And the OP needs to stand firm and let them know that they will not be taken advantage of or guilted into compliance. If she really loved him she would’ve put his needs before her “hurt feelings”. Leaving the hospital over that is so childish and I feel bad for the husband.

    "I want my mom" might be the saddest sentence in the English language. It is what almost all people say when they're in so much distress that they can't reason anymore. Waking up out of the dreamless haze of anesthesia in pain, confused, possibly scared, these are the words that your brain gives you. She is the jerk. The other two OPs are good.

  • @dragonfliesnh4204
    @dragonfliesnh4204 2 года назад +5

    For the anesthesia story and the husband asking for the mom, the OP definitely overreacted. When you are under anesthesia and coming out of it afterwards, you don't always have control over what you say or how you react. As someone who has had MANY surgeries, even as an adult and when I was with my ex-fiancé, when I come out of the surgery I always cry and ask for my mom while freaking out. It's not something I could control as I was still all loopy from the anesthesia. My ex-fiancé totally understood and was never offended when this happened. This also happens other times when I would had other strong medications. OP acted very childish and was also told that this is a common reaction from people coming out of anesthesia and STILL decided to leave the hospital and abandon her husband. Rude and inconsiderate

    On story 4 it depends on how much anasthesia they used. If it was a lot, then it’s understandable that the guy would call for his mom since it’s natural animal instinct that when we feel in danger or scared to call for our mother. But if it wasn’t much then the op still isn’t justified, even an incredibly small amount of anasthesia can make it seem like your either high or drunk or both

    Story 2 - Someone in my city had a dispute over farmland ownership within their family due to unpaid debts. The courts ordered the farm owner's property seized and publicly sold to compensate the family member who was owed money. The farm went for sale publicly and the original owner started threatening people making bids. In the end, a random unrelated person bought the farm. Before the land ownership was transferred over, the original owner connected all the water sprayers with RoundUp and killed all of the blueberry shubs on the farm, causing over $1.5 million in damages. Not to mention the soil cannot be used to grow plants for years as the RoundUp needs to break down, and blueberry bushes take years to grow. The courts awarded the new farm owners $1.5 million, seized the guy's house and sold that too.

    The 2nd story, the land-owner would have made ALL of that $1.5 million besides owing the property taxes and the cost of hiring someone to harvest it. The land-owner did not pay for the seeds (which is not bad for cotton but for corn or soybeans, that would have been about $250000 worth of seed), not paid any of the labor in maintaining/inspecting the field, and did not pay the equipment maintenance and fuel cost. This is completely insane of the land-owner to do. Legally, the farmer could have gotten a lawyer and filed a injunction to stop the land-owner from ending the lease. Arguing a case that the land-owner causing irreparable harm, I would think that would be a easy case to win.

    • @cptblood1981
      @cptblood1981 2 года назад

      Not even close. I read this and decided to respond. To truly understand we would need to see the lease. However, the farmer had no obligation to put in all that work and under most leases improvements made to the property belong to the landlord NOT the tenant. (Best example would be if you get permission to install built in cabinets. You can't just rip them out.) In the story here the big red flags are the herbicide and the depleted soil. If he had a decent attorney, the landowner likely got some kind of settlement of judgment.

    Story 2: apparently its a common practise for landowners to do this. So the main reason why they do it is obviously to reap the profits with free labour but most of the time is because they are changing industry. So after they reap the profit off farmers, they will put up the land as development sites, so they could either get a grant from the government to develop buildings for whatever uses (housing, offices, hotels, etc) or they could sell the land to developing companies. Most of them will sell the land in exchange for alot of money and some perks after development (free house).
