This album came out the year before I was born, and was the first album I ever owned--as a 4 year old who didn't always understand what the lyrics meant but always knew Mac was my man.
Yes, Elvis did sing this song for one of my favorite movies Live a little, Love a little. and there is also a Remix version that is used in a lot of movies and Ads. This is really good too I love Mac Davis
RIP.. I knew him from the songs he was famous for singing that I listened to in 70s with my mom. Until 2 days ago I had no idea he wrote this for Elvis. Along with "In the Ghetto". 2 of my favorite (Elvis) songs...
Dan DeLano No there wasn't. He never recorded this for the Comeback. At all. The version that appeared on a compilation of 68 Comeback tracks in the late 90s was Take 2 for Live A Little Love A Little sessions. For some reason RCA thought it was a 68 outtake. There was nothing filmed for the song. Don't know where you got info from. Everything that was filmed for the Comeback has been released.
I'm shocked, never heard it before and I like it better than the Elvis version, which I like it very much anyway. Much in the Tony Joe White style. Awsome
I'd love to ask him how he came to use satisfaction as a verb. I think it'd be extra cringe worthy if Aretha sang it... It seems like it has to come from a raw, even semi-retired POV. (Observing, not criticizing) 😂
Mac wrote "A Little Less Conversation" with Billy Strange. According to Billy himself on the Wrecking Crew documentary, the song was written specifically for the Elvis movie "Live A Little, Love A Little" . He said nothing about Aretha Franklin in the interview. I can really see Aretha recording it due to the style, but not so much with the words. Maybe Mac said something somewhere about wanting Aretha to record it first, but Billy didn't.
Elvis version is miles ahead of macs version! BUT Macs version of "In the ghetto" is way better than the remrakble elvis! Either way this MAC DAVIS dude was a stellar performer and writer!
You're just got to be kidding, because I can't believe anybody is that fucking stupid. Maybe you are, there are a lot of dumbass people in this world. Have you ever heard of a songwriter? They make money by writing songs that other people record. Are you with me so far? Maybe you're confused by the long words I used.
I did..in fact he gave it to EP for his film. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of rubbish that is spouted by ignorant people..who need to do some research and stop being so lazy.
Another one gone from my teen years!! Thanks for the great music!!! RIP Mac Davis

One of my favorite singer/songwriters from here in Lubbock Texas ❤️ The other one is Buddy Holly.
My first album by Mac I bought in the early seventies. I still have it ! Fantastic song !

Wow! Didn’t know he wrote it! Great sound!
@curvy71 He was Elvis' main composer in the comeback era 1968-1970
Wow this is first time that I have heard this version.
R.I.P. Mac Davis
There was a version of this song that was recorded and filmed for the Elvis '68 comeback special that was cut.

Mac was very sexy & good looking & could sing so good he is the whole package
I'm shocked, never heard it before and I like it better than the Elvis version, which I like it very much anyway. Much in the Tony Joe White style.
Awsome
Your deaf! Elvis blows this away
RIP Mac Davis! (I like his version of In The Ghetto better than how Elvis sang it+I love Elvis!
@@frankfurfaro2165 Well, maybe I'm as deaf as you are polite
Mac probably wrote this, like he did several Elvis’ songs. I like both versions.
@@frankfurfaro2165 Wow. You're such a geat example.
RIP, Seth.
Mac Davis was a humble man haha
Excellent! More than just a hint of Tony Joe White in this version!
Elvis recorded several songs that Mac wrote...In the Ghetto, Don't Cry Daddy...for starters
Essa musica se tornou maior sucesso de Elvis Presley numa versão remix!
he also wrote Memories.
well tbh elvis got "famous" for dancing like the black folk at the time...
@@dezrons5679 And outperformed all of them. TBH.
Davis wrote “A Little Less Conversation” in hopes Aretha Franklin would record it, but she showed no interest, so he submitted it for the Elvis movie.

Descanse em paz!
I can't say that I like this better than Elvis Version but it is a very good sounding song.

Elvis feel immediate
that was the best dessert, thanks Mac
Как всегда замечательно
better than the Elvis version. this has that feeling of authenticity
Written for Elvis for the movie Live a Little, Love a Little.
@OmarGudmunds oh really thats cool
He did not write dont cry daddy eddie rabbit wrote it
Yeah bit of TJW
I Bet Mac Davis wrote a lot songs for Elvis
didn't Elvis sing this song too.
Elvis's version was faster, more like the beat Aretha Franklin was used to recording with.
Davis wrote it for Franklin
Never got credit for this song. Presly stole it all
