They’re American because Americans ride them and have been and it’s almost a tradition atleast where I’m from that your dad shows you how to ride one, my dad did and all of my close friends dads did besides a few. They’re also city boys so that explains that.
That's my bike! 99 CR250, best dirt bike I've ever had and no plans to part with it. I just wish Honda hadn't stopped making parts for it!

Got a 2000 cr 250 and 2001 cr 125 both mint condition. Went through both of them. fresh suspension, fresh top ends, all pivots greased linkage bearings greased, new plastics, new stock repop graphics . New dunlop tires Beautiful bikes ! They were very low hour bikes when I got them . Even the original sprockets still mint prove there low hour bikes . Can't wait to ride them this year at the local tracks

I just got done with my 97 cr250r and love it. It hangs with my cuzin 99 all day long. You can’t go wrong with the 2 stroke Honda’s.

I'm from Australia and hunted for a 2001 cr250 for years and I've got her, I love it dearly hehe just need a lectron carby and take off the massive rear superx sprocket and put a nice smaller motox one. My blood is Honda Red! I own a 2004 CR250 . I cut my 2 stroke teeth in the mid 90's on a 1991 CR250. That bike fuggin ripped!! Gotta come up there oneday and meet Kaplan and talk Hondas....!

Sup guys. I have a low hour 1999 cr250r I got in 2010. I did the suspension myself, rebuilt the complete engine just cus the cylinder had a scratch. I had LA SLEEVE do a.big bore. Stage 3 porting, VForce 3 reeds, new tires and I had to gear it a little tall due to the mass amounts of bottom end the big bore added. FMF Gnarly pipe. ECT. The bike absolutely flys. It holds 450s off. I love it and it is a Beast. I enjoy your videos. I'm almost 50.

Brought back memories. Someone showed up in our trails when were kids (crossed it up and tore the tree bark off one of the trees with back tire) - lit our trails a blaze and left. To this day, we still don't know who it was. God Bless America 😂🇺🇸

My CR250 was 10 years older than that one, but I'd be instantly at home on that thing slingin 40ft roost. 500's are beasts, but with a little bit of skill you can wring-out at 250 with WIDE eyes and a MASSIVE smile on your face!!

I’d say the most fun dirt bike ever, I’ve road them 25 years.
I feel fortunate that I have an 01' CR250. Based on condition I would guess it has 60 to 80 hours on it. I may have put 10 on it in the last 2 years. Amazing machines.
I used to have a built '93 CR125R and I loved it, was my first bike til I sold it to a young kid just getting into mx riding so I'm glad it's still living on

@@marthamryglod291 showa suspension was and is considered one of the best do you know how to adjust it correctly? I have a 1998 screaming 🦅 So I know. If you said bad head twitch and a little unstable at high speed I'd agree but not on the suspension thing.
@@caseyanderson7600 yeah it was never serviced when I bought it in '99, so I only know what it felt like worn out. After factory connection did the revalve, it was a huuuge improvement

I had 1998 Cr 250 from new and raced it in the uk, hell of an engine handling, bit of head shake but awesome machine 👌

I have a 2001 yz250 everything has been completed rebuilt and restored it’s just as clean person I bought it from had frame paint and primer to go with it everything from wheel bearings to the clutch cables have been replaced

I know yours is a 1999 but I’ve been on a lot of 125’s. I had a 1998 cr125, personally the fastest 125 I’ve ever been on for some reason. One beast of a bike. I can’t even imagine a 1999 cr250 lol. I ended up selling it to a kid coming off a Ktm125 and he said that Honda was way faster.

I'm 6'3" 240lb and had a '98. Awesome power and ergonomics. Sold it to get an '01 because of internet hype, saying it was a better bike. Nope. Not for me.
The '98 felt better ergonomically and I preferred the "rigid" frame and suspension. The motor felt stronger in the '98 too and both were fresh, so I don't get the hype? Wished I'd just kept the '98 even though the '01 was in overall better shape (everything new/upgraded).

I’m 5’6” - had the ‘99 when I was 115lbs out of high school... I swear that bike didn’t know I was there, when ridden by a flea there is literally nothing it wouldn’t lose a drag race too 🤣 But scary as hell for a guy my size!
@@Ahomesteadersdream Same same ... Even at 240lb that motor pulled like I wasn't even on the bike! Best 2-stroke motor I've ever owned (power curve per CC). It had power everywhere and just flat out ripped when you pinned it.
I loved trail riding when I'd get onto a straight logging road and could just pull thru the gears. I've owned a Hayabusa and that ole CR was just as fun in a straight line. Off-road vs on road, but still....
I love it. Straight up given 'er hell. Just screaming through there! God I love hearing 2 strokes roar and watching them just tear shit up.

Back in 1999 Lusk, Windham, Tortelli, LaRocco, Pichon, Voss, and Hughes were on a 1999 Honda CR250R.
Its a shame the plastics cut into the sub frame and main frame alloy,i place rubber under my plastics to stop the wear on the frame.I came 1st in a 2hr hare and hound race in the uk last week on my 98 against 2020 bikes.love these vids ,i would love to visit you guy's if am ever over in the USA.
