    I rented this game so much, I could have bought it 3 times over. This was my favorite game of all time. I even named my son Dekar

    Extremely underrated JRPG. The ending hit me very hard considering i had things going on with my girlfriend and child , was hard to believe a SNES game would go there but it only added to the experience. Any fan of JRPGs must play

    Hey Shinky, thanks for the video! I must say that now that you are a JRPG fan did make me laugh out loud!! Even if I did not grind as much as you in the ancien cavern, I was happy to grind and get overpower weapons for my team! Can't wait to play that one again for my gaming memories!

      Lufia 1 is kinda rough, and very fetch quests. (I did a review on it quite a while ago) but Lufia 2 is beautiful. I hope you enjoy it when you get to it

    Items that are on party-members that leave the party aren't gone forever. They show up in the Pawn Shop on Forfeit Island.

    This is the first time i see this game get the love it needs. I still have the game upstairs somewhere in a box with an original SNES. But i think the saves got erased again by now. And if we talk about the music, the track when you enter the Sinstrals hideout... That heroic but tragic sound... absolutely loved it!

    Lufia 2 probably one of my favorite RPG's since the early 2000's. I really did enjoy they pulled a DQ3 in making it a prequel to Lufia. Funny thing is they enjoyed the idea of the Ancient Cave so much the dungeons of Lufia: The Legend Returns became all random dungeons.

    • @Shinky
      @Shinky  4 месяца назад

      Not to mention there’s a whole phone game in Japan that is just the ancient cave

    • @ttvarek1985

      @Shinky Yea also Lufia 1 had a remake for Japan only phones in the early 2000's.

    I am currently playing an indie RPG on Steam called Beloved Rapture. It just came out, and it heavily reminds me of Lufia 2. Lots of puzzles that actually take thought, turn based combat, great sprite work and a soundtrack that sounds like Lufia 2, it’s pretty good! Definitely something you may want to check out if you liked this game

    It is an amazing game. It's a nice casual play with the exception of a couple of puzzles. I'm talking to you red and yellow 😆. The soundtrack is one of the best of all time. The story is incredible and evokes real emotions throughout. Wish I had played this before the first Lufia.

    • @Shinky
      @Shinky  4 месяца назад +1

      Oh man, that puzzle was definitely a doozy. I’m actually glad I played Lufia 1 before this. Sure it kinda spoils the game but still the references made it more than worth it

      @derpzieb4408 4 месяца назад

      @Shinky You make a good point about the first Lufia. The ending was still satisfying. I was a bit worried about that on my first playthrough. It was awesome how they tied the two together

    • @Shinky
      @Shinky  4 месяца назад

      @derpzieb4408 I could not imagine going. Back to Lufia 1 after playing 2. The QoL changes of 2 would have been such a shock to the system

    • @derpzieb4408
      @derpzieb4408 4 месяца назад

      @Shinky It's was extremely daunting playing the first one again. It was hard for me to readjust my battle plan to remember if you kill an enemy and you have another NPC slotted to hit the same enemy they ruthlessly hit the air 😆 Lufia 2 definitely had some brilliant Qol fixes. Especially for Taito, who hasn't ever been huge in the rpg scene to begin with.

      @@Shinky It's not a bad game by itself, but it's terrible as a Lufia game.
      For comparison, it's just like how Resident Evil 6 is a good action game but completely terrible as a Resident Evil game.

    Didn't make our 15 Must-Play RPGs!
    The Ancient Cave was miles ahead of its time, and it sure looked and sounded pretty, but the puzzles were often annoying, and character development was largely non-existent.
    Tengai Makyou Zero, however...

    • @Shinky
      @Shinky  4 месяца назад

      I LOVED THE PUZZLES! They are supposed to be annoying lol. Most RPGs of this era tend to be like that, FF4 for example, After Mt. Ordeals Cecil’s character development stops immediately and he doesn’t grow any further.
      That being said I haven’t heard of Tengai Makyou Zero, should I give it a shot?
