I like the fact that the image is self contained until it comes out. I have seen some where the images comes out and back in, but if your onlocation out side this can cause dirt to get on the heads. This is a perfect solution for that problem.
Hello, Yes, the DNP printers are high-duty printers. In fact, they were designed for DNP's photo kiosks which can easily handle 100 prints per day. They are far less expensive than a "mini-lab" type of printer, however, the trade-off is the cost per print is higher. I hope this information helps.
@Karelin Yes, the printer gives you the option of print matte or glossy. After putting down the color, the printer puts a clear protective coating over the image, this coating can be matte or glossy. I hope that helps, if not please contact us.
@mtetcher the image is cut off because of the print ration in Express digital darkroom. When in the program it shows you the crop lines on each print. to avoid this just do prints individually and adjust accordingly.
@@GolferAJT The DS80 with 8x10 media can print a single 6x8, but it wastes a lot of ribbon and paper. With 8x12 media you can print 2-6x8 on 8x12. If you need single 6x8 prints you are better off printing with a DS40 or the current DNP 620.
I watch this video once a week. These are on my wish list. Do these printers work with aperture 3 program. I do event photo printing, I operate off of my MacBook pro.
The printer ejects some paper to align the paper roll. The manufacturers put extra paper on the roll so there is no extra cost to the user. I put a link above to a blog post on our site which explains the process in more detail.
Interested in purchasing both, but want to ensure this product is what I want. Are the prices above still good? If not, BH has lower pricing. I would prefer to get them both from the same dealer. Please advise. I also have a question about the matte option. Does the same print media print matte and glossy or is there different media?
I see a catch tray like in the video, but that won't work. Is there another print catcher? I currently have a Sony UPDR150 and a bulk catcher that's about 18 inches long and can catch 300, 400 or 500 prints. My Sony's on the fritz, with constant 'Check Ribbon" warnings.
ikhsan agustian No, the DS80 can not print on vinyl or sticker media. However, we do sell a photo sticker printer called the Brava 21. You can find it on our website, just search for Brava 21.
every time I try to print, i keep getting different error messages. One time it says wrong paper size. Then it says that the printer may require repair service. Im exhausted with it. Im ready to sell it and get a Mitsubishi. This doesnt make any sense
Wrong paper size is usually a setting in the driver. The other error could be many things. Please remember, the DS40 has been discontinued for 7 years. Your printer is not new. Like a 7 year old car, there will be issues. As far as replacement, Mitsubishi is no longer in the printer business, you want a DNP 620.

I just bought a DS80. It powers up. Should I be able to power off the unit from the power button or only if I unplug it?
@Cesar No, the DS80 is dedicated to 8 inch paper and will output 8x10, 8x12 or 4x8.
Is there a way to output a 6x8?

It is the standard that is 300dpi. High quality that is 600dpi is good for all text, not good for people.

How do you have the printers hooked up to the laptop at the same time?
what is the operation cost to run this unit such photo paper and ink? how long does this ink last and much paper able per roll.
I'm interested in both these printers... but I am wondering why did the top of the subjects head get cut off in the 8x10 ??
Does the DS40 have a bulk print stacker to catch, say 400 prints, keeping them in order, without standing there watching it print at an event?
Do you need software to print

How to solve the error at size 8x12 on the DNP DS80 printer
Not totally understanding the issue, but if you are using 8x12 media and have been using 8x10, be sure to change the media size in the driver.
can you put a 5x7 printing paper in a dnp ds80?
Do you have dealer in Canada ? if yes please let me know where !

It seems very wasteful to print off all the blank pictures when you power up the printer. What's the cost per print?
Does the DS software support in MAC
What app do you use for your laptop?
That s Darkroom Core software shown in the video. imagingspectrum.com/collections/darkroom-software
Yes. If you search DS40 on our website you will see a print catcher for $35.
Great advice
