But considering he was at peace at his final moments, it ultimately satisfyingly completes his character arc and developed his character. In short, I didn’t like Morro’s personality because he was an immature brat about it, and even as the fabled Green Ninja, he didn’t do much than using Lloyd’s body for Spin and Airjitzu, but he just did anything else he could do in his ghost form. But i’m glad that in his final moments his redemption didn’t feel forced (like a certain so and so in Crystalized), and even DOTD picked up where that completed character left off. At least there’s one thing DOTD did good in.

As one of the 3 Day of the Departed enjoyers, I think Cole's story was so strong that it carries the entire special. Him ascending up the temple and collecting an arsenal of weapons like a dungeon game, then fighting Yang at the end is just so cool. And there's an alternate cut of the whole special, which technically doubles Cole's arc. It's not the best Ninjago entry, but I'd definitely rank it higher than some others
I enjoy day of the departed just bc I love the concept of Cole being afraid of being forgotten; they def could’ve done more with it but I still think the special is solid! I’m a sucker for any Cole angst haha
I'm so glad you put possession at #1, its such a good season. ive probably watched it at least 20+ times by now. i love the focus on all the characters and the plot of it is just amazing. it's just a darker season in general which i loved. i also really like the scene between lloyd and garmadon - its really emotional and gives closure to lloyd. overall, its a great season because i love lloyd angst!
I totally agree with possession being number one! Sky bound is also great along with tournament, SOG and Hunted being amazing too. I love all Ninjago though, these are just my top picks. While Ninjago will always be my favourite show, there are some dumb things I will never get over. Like the fact the ninja just straight up forgot about Airjitzu and their elemental dragons. Ahhhhhhhh that annoys me so much!!! Like imagine hunted if they just immediately forged their elemental dragons and dipped back to Ninjago. Plot solved.
I always wanted to finish Ninjago someday. I watched the first couple of seasons, but I was never really compelled to continue . However, I still do enjoy the memories I had with the show (like the time I won a book from my school). Those were the good ol’ times.
Honestly ive never gotten past S10 and i dont think i want to, i feel its satisfacotry as a final season i maybe watch the other 5 seasons but idk, but this winter break im definetly rewatching ninjago from the pilot to the march of the oni
I think hands of time was sought to be forgettable because of the hype of the lego ninjago movie and the the temporary but huge controversy behind sons of garmadon and its design changes. But I think its an overall decent season. The animation (only in fight scenes) is amazing and the execution of the time travel plot is brilliant with the time blades, the vermillion warriors and the hands of time themselves which in my opinion are some of the best villains.
It's hard to be remembered when the season that came before it (Skybound) is arguably the best in the entire show and it was immediately succeeded by the Ninjago movie and another absolute banger of a season (Sons of Garmadon)
i really really really loved seabound but my favorite is hunted because i loved seeing young wu, i loved jay being crazy, i loved seeing cole being a dad, and i loved it all in general. But, in terms of the soundtrack, i absolutely adored prime empire. It’s ost was AMAZING! (I also am a big fan of electronic and chiptune, so I’m kind of based.) I literally have the shopkeeper’s theme saved on my playlist. (also okino is my favorite side character aside from benthomaar and scott)
I liked the idea of Master wu having a student before the ninjas, because I kinda found it weird that Wu decided to train ninjas at an old age (ik he lives longer than a human I just expected him to have student at a much younger age)
Speaking of the love triangle I have a theory that the overlord changed SPECIFICALLY nyas perfect march to be Cole to cause infighting between jay and Cole to weaken the team
I've always sort of had a soft spot for Ninjago. I remember when I was younger how I would watch it with my older brother. Even if I didn't really quite grasp the plot, but hey pretty colors and funny Lego men make brain happy. Jay was always my favorite, really I don't why. He's one of the only one's that can make me laugh out loud. Skybound is probably my personal favorite season, but I'm sort of bias. The Tournament Of Elements and Possession are tied for second.
my favorite is Kia but..... skybound should be higher. Jay was an amazing lead and having him deal with his lying and disparity just feels good because it feels human. he REALLY liked Nia which in the end is the reason why he won. Jay and Zane are the 2 most emotionally accurate characters in the show and one of them aint even human XD
Recently rewatched S4 - S7 Skybound was good, I liked Jay being the MC. (which was surprising cuz if I had to rank the Ninja Jay would probably last or 2nd to last for me). However, Nadakhans's powers opens too many plot holes. I think if they had been able to stop him before he become Djinn King then it would've been a more satisfying end. Mainly because by that time you would think he is way too OP to even be hurt. Also Kai and Zane got badly sidelined and disappeared for 7 eps or something, the way Kai went out was just sad. Hands of Time was pretty good in my opinion but again the ability to control time just opens up too many plot holes. I thought the plot itself wasn't bad, actually quite enjoyable especially the subplot with the discovery of Kai's and Nya's parents. As for the animation, for some reason I didn't notice major changes. Tournaments of Elements was amazing. There were many great fights, and even though some of the Ninja were eliminated they still had good roles to play (like Cole), Garmadon was an excellent Sensei too. Only complaint was the ending felt meh. Could've been better but the first 7 episodes or so were amazing. Possession is my clear and cut favorite. Morro was an amazing villain. Cole being a ghost was cool too, good side characters like Ronan were heavily featured. The ending was done specially well, the defeat of the Curse Realm was done better than any of the other defeats of major villains. Honestly, no major complaints, maybe just Lloyd being sidelined for 7/8 episodes but when he came back he had that epic battle with Morro and it showed parallel with the Green Ninja and the one who wanted to be the Green Ninja.
As someone who grew up on Ninjago I- completely agree with you. Even though I haven't seen the seasons after the movie-style change (I still haven't really gotten over it. I don't hate it, it's just the seasons with the og designs will always be the better Ninjago to me. But that's with the nostalgia glasses on, I might give it a chance sometime soon). I LOVE the possession season, I was sitting there the entire video like "Where's Morro's season on this list???" and got so hyped that someone agrees it's #1. I agree Skybound isn't *great* but I absolutely love the last episode, and that's mostly the only episode I focus on of that season.
I do wish we got to see more of human Garmadon because it did get a little repetitive when we just kept getting "evil" Garmadon coming back again and again after Lloyd pretty much cured Garmadon of his "evil side". Like getting to see more of his monastery and students, or getting to see more of Garmadon teaching the Ninja.
This is why I will always put season 2 as my number 1: Season 2 was actually the original series finale, and so accordingly the writers and the show spent season 1 and season 2 as a build up towards the final battle where Lloyd becomes the golden ninja. But after the fans demanded to bring the show back, the show was just knocking down problems as they came up. Unlike in season 2 where the events were planned in both season 1 and season 2 to build a final ultimate battle. Do I regret the show being brought back in season 3? No, of course not, the show is still well written after it's brought back, but I feel the planning and the build up for the ending of season 2 is what surpasses it for me.
Not hating here. But I think Season 2 would've been a lot better if the first half didn't exist. It was a crap ton of filler and a total waste of the Mega Weapon.
@@jeremiahgreen5632 that’s not hate, that’s a valid opinion And yes I agree the first half is a bit slow and weak but it sets up the dominoes for the ending
8:35 not that compelling? Are you kidding, Skull Sorcerer is one of the most amazing villains we‘ve gotten from the show. For the first time we have a villain that does not act out of revenge and does not want to conquer Ninjago. He only wants to controll his mountain, because the vengestone gives him and his people wealth. He has an amazing design and voice actor, he is a skilled fighter, he is intelligent and imo the most charismatic villain. They hinted that he is not only motivated by greed, but also slowly getting corrupted by the skull, adding depth to his character. He also has a great symbolic meaning; King Vangelis is like a god ruling the angelic people in the sky, while the Skull Sorcerer rules the flamming hell like the devil, but in the end they are the same people. In the end he was the perfect antagonist for Cole. Also, his reveal was the best Plot Twist in the entire show. I was so shocked to find out who he really is.
3:23 Prime Empire is criminally underrated, it's definitely better than the likes of Seabound and Crystallized. It may not be the most well written thing ever, but boy is it so much fun to watch.
I won’t lie, I’ve been watching since 2011, and I don’t plan on stopping until the storyline is done. I wonder what is to come next for this franchise in the future with the next show coming out next year with a rumored 2D design.
13:02 The text under ninjago translates to: "all new series" It's in the official ninjago language and you have the alphabet in the 1st instruction book for Ninjago City Gardens
As for season 2, the fillers everyone complains about have a lot to offer to the story, thr pirate thung returns in s7, lloyd losing his childhood is tragic but heroic, compare those fillers to the ones in thr newer seasons and they are miles better
The serpentine arc is one that really sticks out for me cuz me and my brother watched it religiously and waited for each episode and jus could not wait for the next one
I genuinely am so glad possession is #1, possession is arguably one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES like genuinely I can rewatch it so many times over and I just appreciate it even more each time, no other season (that ive watched) really does that for me, morro is also one of my favorite villains, and the entire soundtrack and opening of this season was just so peak, nya discovering herself and becoming the water ninja, and this season introducing the concept of realms is also a highlight
My favorite season will always be number 4. Coming back to this show, the first few seasons I was so excited to get to season 4 since it was my favorite from my childhood. Still will most likely always be my favorite.
Holy crap I didn’t know this show didn’t stop. I stopped watching after season 7 (I don’t know why I stopped, maybe because I didn’t like it as much as previous seasons). It’s insane this part of my childhood still persists.
Decent rankings, Morro is one of the best written characters in the show and him plus Ronin plus Nya's subplot are what make Possession so great imho. If you saw Brent Miller's interview with the Hagemans, they both said Morro's their favorite villain as well. Would be interested in your take on Dragons Rising! I honestly thought it was lame at first, but just completed a full rewatch and it actually slaps really hard by the end, pumped for season 2
2:15 I agree that S7 was horribly done. Its such a shame because I found Krux and Acronix to be a fun villain-duo and wished their story along with the main plot of S7, was executed well.
I am happy that you put Season 4 as number two. Number one does have a problem to me. The producers think its good to have to bring up the "who gets Nya" and delays the outcome for 4 effing season. I would put it at two and Tournament of elements at 1. No hate and I love your Ninjago content! *also Lloyd and his father have an amazing seen plus character develpment at the end and it made me cry*.
Yup, It Is, The difference are a rumored change of animation (making It the same as monkie kid the other lego show but this is not confirmed yet) and what Is confirmed is that while Is a continuation, the new series will stop picking things from previous seasons and focus forward into new things
For me the best thing to come out of Season 7 "Hands Of Time" was developing the brother/sister bond between Kai and Nya, and seeing Ray and Maya. Oh I forgot to mention "Rise Of The Vermillion" by the fold absolutely slaps.
I started watching during Rebooted. Watched all on Netflix. Have seen every episode ever made, other than pilot, which as a 5 year old, my brother read to me from the school library. The first kit I got of it was the Thunder Raider, with Jay, Cole, and a Nindroid. I cried at Crystallized. And I never cry at shows or movies. I got Wu's Dragon. The original from 2015, and so many others. I want to get all the sets from Crystallized, since it's the finale.
I still remember when the ninja uses a golden weapon, then go to normal one, and then their weapon completely changed like Jay nun chaku turns into kusarigama and Cole from schyte into Fist of Strength
My Top 3 : Skybound, Possessed and Reboot. Skybound had me really felt like the ninjas were going to die because they were caught single by single and so this made me feel really scare of Nadakhan. The fact that every time they seemed like more and more unpowerful, the pirates context, i loved that. Possessed has opened the door of the 16 kingdoms, the whole background and the final is absolutly insane. The ninjas are fighting Moro and Lloyd, what a good concept, and the good design of the fantoms and the costumes absolutly got me. Reboot is my favorite. In the release context, Ninjago was just elementary powers, Spinjitzu and old Legends. But this season was revolutionary ! The technology, the costums, the power of Nindroids, Dark Wu and Good Garmadon, the limit of golden power, the digivers : so much good ideas and concepts that makes this season a masterpiece and finally the final battle was so beautiful, emotional and Epic, i thought as a child zane died. This season is one of the best ever made for me. (Bonus : I don't like any of the last seasons (8-16) because the graphics are childish, the episode are too short, the vilains aren't that scary and charismatic, the story isn't developed that much, and there's no emotions at all.)
@Noah TN yes, but the character of Garmadon has been already conclued in season 4 and 5, and the fact that they made him comeback has no sense, his wiseness and experiences disappeared, Lloyd is childish again, and the whole Season has no sense, because the characters has supposed to grow up and to remember the lessons from the past which is not the case at Season 8 and 9. That's why I don't like them.
@@jakobwienandt4050 I don't make my ranking by taking the most good fights or ideas in each one of the seasons, but i pay attention on how each seasons bring something new to the show, and how the seasons are developing theirs storys and theirs characters. That's why my ranking is different from the others.
@@skylandersfan6954 Lloyd has got a lot of knowledge through the 7 seasons, but in each fights he's scary like he has never fought before. The point with Garmadon is that it's absolutly dumb to get him back : he was the biggest vilain but the father of lloyd in season 1&2, he was a father and a wise master in season 3&4, he sacrifices himself to save Ninjago from the Anacondas instead of destroying it, he is lost forever in the cursed kingdom, and you're telling me that he's back as the Garmadon of s1 in s9?? This has no sense and the New Garmadon is trash and really different from the past one, he's worse because he's just vilain with Dark power but not a father and a wise master. Finally the story isn't developed because the legend of Dragon and Oni comes out of nowhere, it isn't developed because it just a reason of why lloyd is original instead of why this people is so particular in the conception of the world and finally, the episode of 10 mins instead of 20 mins makes the scenario and the action really short, and so it decreases the quality of the show, in matters of actions, emotions, character developement, and lessons that we can learn from it. It went to a really good show to an average and childish one, from s7 to S8.
Bro I loved crystallized. Actions from the previous seasons come back, all the characters having their moments. Having a great set up, wondering who is this new villain and by the end, gets insane and awesome. Everything pays off so well. One of the best seasons of the show
Finally a video that doesn’t talk terrible about Crystalized: Honestly, I do agree with most people that how the season (both part 1 and 2) was treated poorly and I won’t disagree with that (plus I would like to add that some of the faults with the season were a bit off for me imo) however I honestly think the hate for it was a bit much and I personally enjoyed it despite the faults with this season. Like it’s not my favorite with Wildbrain (aka the studio who currently does the animation for Ninjago as of making this comment) cause that award goes to Masters of the Mountains but I still liked Crystalized.
I truly think Hands of Time is a good season with some of the best story beats, and is forgotten because of it being made at the worst possible time. Not only did CN not promote it at all, but it was aired like four months before the movie, with all the buzz being about the movie. I think there are fair criticisms to HoT, but the fact that it is forgotten is mainly due to its terrible promotion and time it was aired, which is unfortunate.
Im gonna be honest. Season 5 has so many phenomenal aspects: Nya training to be a ninja, the best intro, Cole turning to a ghost and of course, MORRO and RONAN (two amazing addictiions to the show). Ah, and my favorite part: Kai and LLoyd relation (Kai being an older brother to Lloyd:his evolution from envy him because he is the green ninja to being a brother to him iis so f*cking good).

@@shortstackofpancakes13 Let me make it very clear that I don’t hate Hunted. I like every single installment of the show, and in my opinion, there is no such thing as a bad season. The reason why Hunted is at the bottom of the list is just because I like other stuff more. Although this season does have a couple of problems that I should talk about. First I really hate the first four episodes, they are boring and bland. Second, I hate the Ninjas suit in this season(especially Nya’s), third the Ninja are not treated like actual Ninja in this season. They Barely wear the Hoods and Barely use Weapons.
@@basedcroat Yeah I feel the same. I don’t want to watch the last few seasons but I might just because.
Krux is better than Acronix
@@demonking3673 I think it's the other way around
@@invader8491 They are a two man show, they work best together.
@@plasmazing3612 I don’t think one of them would even want to reverse time due to the "internet"
Same
Am creating Mocs and and AU to embrace the potential that it had.
I think Zane being a robot will always be the biggest plot twist of most of our childhoods
I liked the idea of Master wu having a student before the ninjas, because I kinda found it weird that Wu decided to train ninjas at an old age (ik he lives longer than a human I just expected him to have student at a much younger age)
He did train lots of people while young
He did train lots of people while young
when I'm watching Ninjago sometimes I just feel like: "can we be done with snakes yet?"
I think ninjago is the type of show that never ends because they can make more character and story telling that is amazing so I hope it doesn’t end.
I remember watching seasons 1-5 when they came out each and absolutely loved them
About to make me cry with the ending guitar theme
yeah that gave me chills
Fr
Ayy you did a video about the show :D
Honestly ranking the seasons was always something hard for me, since I have so many mix opinions on it
Recently rewatched S4 - S7
Skybound was good, I liked Jay being the MC.
That’s actually one of the reasons i quite liked reebooted cause wu was now evil and garmadon was good and his sensei side is so bad ass i loved it
This is why I will always put season 2 as my number 1:
Season 2 was actually the original series finale, and so accordingly the writers and the show spent season 1 and season 2 as a build up towards the final battle where Lloyd becomes the golden ninja.
Crystalized was also planned for multiple seasons, since 4 years before its release in fact
HELL YES SEASON 2
Not hating here. But I think Season 2 would've been a lot better if the first half didn't exist. It was a crap ton of filler and a total waste of the Mega Weapon.
@@jeremiahgreen5632 that’s not hate, that’s a valid opinion
And yes I agree the first half is a bit slow and weak but it sets up the dominoes for the ending
He wanted vengestone because Harumi told him to mine it. It says it in Crystalised
3:23 Prime Empire is criminally underrated, it's definitely better than the likes of Seabound and Crystallized. It may not be the most well written thing ever, but boy is it so much fun to watch.
no it is overrated in my OPINION is this season the worst
Saying prime empire is better than seabound is wild.
Fun to see the perspective of someone coming back into the series recently
nearly hit everyone on the mark but possession and a few others, great commentary and I think you did really well with the videos in the background.
I won’t lie, I’ve been watching since 2011, and I don’t plan on stopping until the storyline is done. I wonder what is to come next for this franchise in the future with the next show coming out next year with a rumored 2D design.
honestly , crystalized really didn't disappoint me as much as other people, i put it around 4 or 5 on my ranking
13:02
The text under ninjago translates to: "all new series"
It's in the official ninjago language and you have the alphabet in the 1st instruction book for Ninjago City Gardens
As for season 2, the fillers everyone complains about have a lot to offer to the story, thr pirate thung returns in s7, lloyd losing his childhood is tragic but heroic, compare those fillers to the ones in thr newer seasons and they are miles better
I really wish Poe Dameron cameoed in Crystallized to say "Somehow the Overlord returned."
Yes
The serpentine arc is one that really sticks out for me cuz me and my brother watched it religiously and waited for each episode and jus could not wait for the next one

@@darthmalgus7630 Season 1 is my favourite too, shame I don't see more people praising it here.
@@moonlitm3285If I'm honest ninjago could have ended after season 2, there really wasn't anything more to do.
Skybound will forever my favorite
Enjoy the video 🔥
Season 5 is also my favorite season

Kai and Cole and Morro carried the season

My respect for this dude skyrocketed when he showed #1
Wu regaining his memories will always give me goosebumps
2:15 I agree that S7 was horribly done. Its such a shame because I found Krux and Acronix to be a fun villain-duo and wished their story along with the main plot of S7, was executed well.
Man i was just hoping to see possession at top 3 but man you really shocked me its my favourite most nostalgic season
Made me shed a tear with that ending
I am happy that you put Season 4 as number two. Number one does have a problem to me. The producers think its good to have to bring up the "who gets Nya" and delays the outcome for 4 effing season. I would put it at two and Tournament of elements at 1. No hate and I love your Ninjago content! *also Lloyd and his father have an amazing seen plus character develpment at the end and it made me cry*.
It's been hinted that the new Ninjago series will actually be a continuation, not a sequel or a passing the torch series, a genuine continuation.
Yup, It Is, The difference are a rumored change of animation (making It the same as monkie kid the other lego show but this is not confirmed yet) and what Is confirmed is that while Is a continuation, the new series will stop picking things from previous seasons and focus forward into new things
@@grungedorito5735 I wish many great things upon you for giving me this information
My biggest flex to this day is having the pilot season (with the skeletons) on dvd
Great video man, I loved the outro
keep it up
I loved ninjago so much that I watched all the season more than 3 times, (except for seabound and crystalized. )
Nice short ranking! Totally disagree with some spots but overall it’s great
Season 4 is great, because it explained how the serpentine got locked in tombs, Something that wasn't expanded on in the first 3 seasons
Seasons 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10 being in the top 10 actually makes sense, but sadly you’re the only person I found that puts them in the top 10.
My favorite seasons are Crystalized Seabound, Master of the mountain, hunted, son of garmadon, posscession
The Outro hit me Bro. This show WAS my childhood for so many years. I watched from Season 0 to 8 and i fcking loved it. Nice Video!
My favorite seasons are possession, skybound, sons of Garmadon, hunted, master of the mountain, seabound, and the first 15 episodes of crystalized
Thank you for putting possesion at the 1 spot, it's always been my favorite and I feel like its underrated
Recently been rewatch ninjago content and this show is so good that even Day of the Departed can be enjoyable to me
The fact I also came back to finish the seasons and found a few on the Lego channel is crazy.
I loved Rebooted personally, its the one i have the most memories of
And plus the fuckin “after the blackout” song made for it slaps
I’m glad someone agrees with season 5 having the best intro song that shit had me hyped back in the day
this video is literally a tutorial on how to piss off 99% of Ninjago fans
I completely agree with your number 1 and you're number 2, both MASTERPIECE seasons.
For me the best thing to come out of Season 7 "Hands Of Time" was developing the brother/sister bond between Kai and Nya, and seeing Ray and Maya.
Oh I forgot to mention "Rise Of The Vermillion" by the fold absolutely slaps.
Listen to the time is now it is great
Nah but I lowkey thought the show was over after hands of time😭
I started watching during Rebooted.
Crystalized had a nice ending to the series
@@heathermorris7509 yeah. Not perfect, but good enough
Yeah
I’m so indescribably happy this is still relevant
Season 4 and 5 was the golden age of ninjago
Is this a Joke? seriously i cant tell
@@lunopi.8743 How was Lloyd childish, also thats the point with Garmadon? Also how is the story not developed?
We all knew that Tournament Of Elements was gonna be in the top 3
Bro I loved crystallized. Actions from the previous seasons come back, all the characters having their moments. Having a great set up, wondering who is this new villain and by the end, gets insane and awesome. Everything pays off so well. One of the best seasons of the show
I can not agree more with the rankings and the no. 1 u pick was the best indeed and I loved the intro for that season so much
12:51 well we got a new season
Yea but it SUCKS SO MUCH
Finally a video that doesn’t talk terrible about Crystalized:
Honestly, I do agree with most people that how the season (both part 1 and 2) was treated poorly and I won’t disagree with that (plus I would like to add that some of the faults with the season were a bit off for me imo) however I honestly think the hate for it was a bit much and I personally enjoyed it despite the faults with this season.

Fourth, I hate Dareth in this season soooooo much.
