@Sophia Domenico you can use any gel by cantu or shea moisture just not the STYLING ones like eco gel or gorilla snot, eco gels are used for edges and slicking hair back and stuff
Be careful with the coconut oil. Overload of it and it will look like you have protein overload : dry, brittle hair. And for the gel before trying anything industrial, try flaxseed gel. Homemade. It's a holy grail. Especially for those transitioning. Good luck.

TIPS TIPS TIPS !!!!! (from a natural curled hair girly) •use deva curl no-poo and one-condition. it's AMAZING and has taken my natural curls from trash and completely transformed them. •on that note, don't use shampoo. it's very drying and isn't the best fit curly hair no matter how many brands advertise and say it is. •coconut oil masks are great too •don't always wash everything bit of mask and conditioner out of your hair. let some stay in after you wash most of it out and a little more back in as a leave in condition after your shower •leave your conditioner and masks in your hair while in the shower to let them soak in. add product in little by little and don't glob it on. it'll help your hair become smoother •DON'T BRUSH IT EVER, and let it air dry (showering at night is best especially right before bed so you're not messing around with it and it has time to dry) •buy silk pillow cases, your hair won't stick to them and is able to slide around without becoming frizzy and such. •find someone who does deva cuts. they specialize in cutting curly hair and layering it and it looks amazing compared to getting a regular haircut from someone else
Awesome tips for curly haired girls! Just wanted to add if anyone's hair is more wavy than curly and you're trying to bring out/define the waves, these are great tips but also consider: 1. you may want to comb in the shower to form proper clumps to scrunch, 2. coconut oil may weigh your waves down, 3. you might want to try adding gel to your hair after your shower (scrunched) so that your waves dry in the gel cast, scrunch out the gel in the morning. if your hair is not holding a gel cast, try a protein treatment/mask.

@Chloe Haynes I also have 4c hair. And I can tell you, if you have thin hair, then I don't think you should relax it because my mother did this with her thin, 4c hair and when her hair gets long, it breaks off because she doesn't know how to properly take care of it. @@clinhhh6436 While I agree with you that people should love their natural hair, a hair style is a choice. That means your are able to alter it any how. Even though I personally love and wear my natural hair, one day I might color or even permanently straighten it (which isn't likely), but still, you get the gist.
@Chloe Haynes I also have 4c hair. And I can tell you, if you have thin hair, then I don't think you should relax it because my mother did this with her thin, 4c hair and when her hair gets long, it breaks off because she doesn't know how to properly take care of it. That being said, you could relax your hair if you're able to maintain it. I hope this helps❤
dont chemically straighten your hair!! u might not like your curls but it WILL damage the entirety of you hair; curls n all!!! lol just dont do it for the sake of ur hair 😭
I chemically straightened my hair two years ago and I do it every 6-8 months and I absolutely love it !! It doesn’t get damaged if you go to a good salon .... it gets more damaged if you straighten your hair everyday which I did before i chemically straightened mine
It's amazing, I feel like curls compliment your face. I've been thinking about taking the dive again (I had a perm in middle school, bad choice really with the whole braces/glasses combo) Buuuut the commitment is REAL.
Omg you look like those natural beautiful girls from 70s and 80s 💗
coming from a family with curly hair, Deva Curl is a pretty good product for curly hair, and you can get it wherever, i get it from target or ulta. hope this helps :))
Molly Penn don’t get deva curl from target because it’s usually boot leg. Deva curl doesn’t directly sell to target.
I’ve always wanted my hair straight, now I’m starting to embrace my wavy hair (to be honest my hair is more wavy than curly but I feel like if I did the curly method it would be more curly) you’re mom is such a professional hair dresser! It’s so cool how she cuts and styles your hair!
Coconut oil is really gonna help get it soft and healthy, my sister's perm looked exactly like yours just a month ago
Coconut very rarely works on textured hair, it's a disaster.
best on high porosity hair though. it just depends
Svellah it works on high porosity hair and chemical treated hair
Your mom is the cutest lol. She did not want to do this it seems.
I really like the finished look!
This is how my natural curls look like and i havent wore them out naturally since third grade and i think i should try to(im 13)
Update: I’m now 16 and been wearing my hair naturally for 2 years and loving it
I ACTUALLY FREAKING LOVE IT I KINDA WANNA GET ONE TOO NOW 😍😍
ARMY love ur profile pic
Army is everywhere!!💜
ARMY right!
Eh I can't I have curly hair already
I love my hair tho I just have prominent ears so I can't style it up all cute
it damages your hair more than bleach and dont diy it but yeah!!!
The perm suits you well!!
*Legally blonde was just running through my head during this whole video.*
“Im a sensitive girl” ok big mood. Also your mom is gorgeous!!!
i was in cosmo class in highschool , and did perming as an assignment, it smelled like rotten egg and chemicals bleeeeh LOL
Lmao, you just stepped into a whole 'nother hair world.
i think it looks really good your really beautiful so the perm just makes you prettier
wow lovely perm, your mother did a good job perming your hair. And yes the smell is terrible
I have the STRAIGHTEST hair and I just wanna perm 😰🥺 looks rlly cute!!
Is it just me or does she look like a girl version of Noah Schnapp
yeah, when she had her hair up. It really resembled him as well.
she kinda looks like his twin sister

Ikr
I got a perm when I was 16 and I remember every time I would wet my hair they smelled like rotten eggs... 🤢
Your mom looks so young and gorgeous plus she's got a sweet voice. Goals!
I had this video paused at 4:45 and my mom was literally death staring me while judging what I was watching
it makes me so happy knowing a lot of people here have seen legally blonde 😂
The curls looked so CURLY at the start but at the end they looked wavy/straight
I’ve been thinking about perming my hair for a couple years now and I love the way yours turned out.
Liz Smith hey one I have had a perm twice!! It’s amazingggg
i have naturally wavy hair and this makes me wanna get a perm😩😩 seriously you look SO dang cute!! curly hair is my absolute fav
Same ksksksks👀
Same!!!!!!!!!!
To my fellow naturally curly friends: I highly recommend looking into the “curly girl method”, guys can use it too! It’s the best thing I’ve ever done with my hair, i never have bad hair days anymore!
Actually I feel like it would help you if you have a perm too! It just helps the curls not be frizzy like ever again
my only prior knowledge of perms was that my mom got one when she was 20 lolz
ella cascone my mom got one when I was in elementary school and I cried when I saw her and wouldn’t talk to her for a couple of days 😂
Tara 907 omg😂😂
yesssss i love when people want curly hair i was bless with it naturally
I love my curls and it’s so refreshing to see girls geek over what I have naturally 😌 I feel blessed. Also the tight curl bangs looked SO good on ya girl, I love curly bangs
Yeah, if you put chemical over chemical it can literally burn your hair, it happened to my sister
Oof, is she alright?
J J yeah lol, it didn’t burn it all, the hairdresser took the paint(because she had done the straightening perm before painting) in time, so it only burnt her ends, thanks for the concern though
I'm sorry, but the way you said "change" at 6:58 is hilarious
You're actually one of the rare ones that perm looks good on. You have a nice 80's look, but take that as a compliment! It suits you and your face. I hope you like it too and that's all that matters, actually :)
avery out here with that crackhead energy at the end
If anyone is wondering about the song, it’s called “You’ll be fine” by Spring Gang
the hair is great but omg your mom is adorable
You've inspired me, your hair looks so good and natural! honestly don't listen to the negative remarks you look amazing. I'm definitely doing this to my hair!!
The 80’s is BACKKKKK
It actually looks gorgeous, I love how it looked up at the end
Dude I've always wanted to get a perm 💀
Alana Grady I accidentally read it as I’ve always wanted to get sperm😂
@@connietrevino1567 lmaoooo
I got a fringe because yours looked SOOO nice and now I wanna perm it arggggh 😂😭
