When Siera competed in the Miss Universe pageant that was held in the Philippines in January 2017, she was one of my standouts or favorites to make the final3, in my opinion, because of her confidence, killer smile, and her ability to be noticed on stage. When she started speaking on stage, I was hooked by her excellent communication skills and her intelligent answers. Had Iris (France) not compete that year, Siera had a big chance to make the top 3 cut and eventually capture the crown.
I just hate how everyone is making it seem like Harnaaz has let herself go, she still is so beautiful. Siera wasn't even plus size 😂🙄 size 8, really???? The pageant world can be so unrealistic
So sad! Most of the women are not able to go on the unrealistic diet these ladies go through to look skinny for their pageants. Now, it's Bohol's turn to be pointed out that she's not as skinny as the rest of the girls, being called overweight. She has a toned and healthy body and that is not enough for them. They're basing their judgment on how the Latinas look.
Finally! Someone speaks up about this "issue". Truthfully, there is nothing wrong with adding in more weight. What matters most is how comfortable you are with your body and can take a stand on what you believe in, hence "Confidently Beautiful". To add, MUPH was even criticized for removing the height requirement. Why? There's nothing to talk about it because ALL WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER HOW THEY LOOK! It is the character that matters the most. If body is an issue, maybe you can criticize VS too for including a woman with uneven skin tone to walk the catwalk. But no! They embraced it. Why not MU? Why not all pageants? Inclusivity and visibility is the advocacy we must all stand for, and respect is the key to that advocacy. Again, thank you Sierra for talking about this. Feels more comfortable now that a queen has spoken up about it and assures that being yourself is OKAY. ❤️🇵🇭

I always remembered the final question in the Miss USA 1997 when Brooke Lee gave the most amazing answer about this "issue" when the reigning Miss Universe at the time Alicia Machado had gained weight during her reign. This should never be an issue. At the end of the day, everyone deserves to be happy in their own skin, regardless of their shape.

I thought, maybe it's Haarnaz's way of making a statement that you can be beautiful and be a queen regardless of your size. She's changing the beauty pageant standard. If they allowed a transgender contestant, then sizes should not be an issue. Those people criticized Harnaaz because they got used to the idea of beauty pageants with 24 waistlines. She's still gorgeous with brain.
There are fashion designers now who are including all types of bodies in their shows especially plus size models. On pageants it is different, I guess fans want to see their favorite contestants to look the same at least during their reign which is usually a year. ... If the current MU lost weight .same reaction to her gaining weight. To me, a healthy weight accdng to height is ideal. I really didnt mind your weight at that time coz it fit your height and your heritage And you looked healthy.

Harnaaz interestingly “gained weight”after she got to the US. She is a vegetarian which means pastas etc and much of that here in North America is GMO unfortunately. She had a legitimate reaction and I do not fault her at all for that. And she has actually brought more media attention to MU. She has in essence ushered in the new era in MU and she is doing a spectacular job at it. LOVE Harnaaz. And you are one of the Trail Blazers for sure Sierra because you were also good with who you were then and you are good with who you are now.

I think you accepted the issue smoothly, I meant for me “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” it’s just maybe it depends on the situation you are in like for example if you are in a pageant which is known that candidates must be in shape or in a certain body type. For me, you are unique and empowered with your own personal way. As for me, I’m just a normal woman when I was younger I was bullied because I was so skinny and malnourished. Nowadays miss universe is not about the body and the face it’s all about women with firm advocacy to empower people especially women around the universe…..in short Miss Universe with a heart.
What's wrong with Miss Universe Philippines: 1. Chavit Singson = a well-known womanizer and a wildlife hunter. He has a gallery of trophies like horns from wildlife hunting 2. FRONTROW = an MLM that sells skin bleaching products (very hypocritical for MUP to team up with this type of MLM while they promote loving your natural skin color) 3. ARTE Partylist = pops up in every MUP 2022 video. This is represented by MUP National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee. This really leaves a bad taste! They are literally using the candidates for their political ambitions.
