Even though it sucks Dream Team exclusive, Sega Hardlight probably wouldn't have the opportunity to make this game if Apple didn't want another exclusive Sonic game.
I mean the story is a ian flynn story, do ian probably had this in mind, if apple didn't support it, it would still release, probably after 3 years tho
And lets be honest, i would prefer it being on the apple instead of waiting 3 years, plus im sure some madlad fan will port it in a few months
If it wasnt exclusive, the game would be lower quality or lower effort. Exclusives bring out A game (attempts)

@@kyperactive same, i would be happy if it was on Android, i really want to play it, but im not gonna buy a expensive low quality apple product to just play a sonic game, and on top of that i have swore to stay away from subscriptions as much as possible
One issue i have with Dream Team (that I've seen in videos since i don't have any apple devices) is that other than their specific moves, every playable character plays the exact same. They all have a boost and a homing attack and it makes non of them feel unique unlike Frontiers where each felt (somewhat) unique compared to the other characters.
Yeah it's a big shame, but I think it makes sense since it caters a lot to people playing on touchscreens, I played the game on my phone for a bit, and it the controls were surprisingly good for a touchscreen. Also you can switch to other characters mid stage, and they all gotta play the same stage, so having them play similarly helps a lot for the level designers, and it clearly paid off, the level design is pretty good
Setting aside my gripes with Dream Team being Apple Arcade exclusive, Sonic Dream Team looks like a 3D Advance game (and that's a compliment)
Wouldn't Sega porting this game to more platforms be the most likely scenario? Sonic has been a multi-plat series for decades, & Sega has been interested in re releasing past Sonic games. They clearly want Sonic to be accessible to everyone, so I wouldn't be surprised if Dream Team is ported to other platforms.
I feel like they might end up adding more content to the game with updates and that kinda stuff, and then eventually port the "complete" version of the game to PC and consoles maybe
but if not, I guess at the very least, they could probably try to use some of the stuff from this game as a framework for the next mainline game, maybe?
@@marcoalves9029 Since the game was made using the Unity Engine and Sonic Team is very adamant about using their own engine, I don't think that will happen. However, it would be cool if they would implemented similar movement and design the levels similiar to this game.
Definitely like the unscripted raw thoughts style videos, wouldn't mind seeing these more on occasion!
This game has been an absolute blast for me. I've been championing for years to have a 3D Sonic that prioritized flowstate and fluidity as core design principles.
I didn't think Hardlight would be the one to do that, nor did I think it would be executed as great as Dream Team does.
I just hope that Hardlight is elevated and working on console/PC titles going forward. They have way too much talent for that to be wasted on mobile, when a game that builds off of Dream Team's strengths could be incredible. Out of all of the "blueprint" 3D Sonic games, I don't think a game has had the first rendition be as well realized as this game is.
Really hope it gets ported, or they get to work on a console/PC sequel once post launch development ends.

Really Sonic Team could make a better game than this.

This is a really good Sonic game. 8/10.
I was fortunate enough to play Dream Team on an iPad pro from 2019 and the game ran smooth at the highest graphical setting.
People complain that it is an Apple exclusive, but I feel if it wasn't for that apple money, the game would have not been that good.
Multiple characters, 3d zones, beautiful designs, the gameplay, and there’s kinda actual momentum…yea this game is very good…much better than superstars I would say.

The thing I really appreciate what sega and sonic team did was make new desgins! I'm talking about the old Sonic character renders, first they look pretty alright, but after a while they just became so stale, so bland, but with dreamteam, Sonic and friends look more fleshed out, and also just fits with the game. I hope they keep making different renders, because they are really good. A very weird comparison, but Crash: Mind over Mutant, had different art styles for every cutscene, with made it stand out! Sonic Dream Team looks amazing to play, and I might play this sometime!
Is it weird to say that I had a much better time playing this mobile game compared to Superstars? Probably not
Good video, I pretty much agree with all of your sentiments. To me, this is easily the most fun I've had with a 3d sonic title since generations and the fact that it is locked away from so many people is a shame! I made it a point to go and check out how the game was doing on Twitch during launch day and was surprised with how low I had to scroll down the browse page. Seriously, there was like a handful of streams with a total amount rounding near 200 viewers. That was really telling. Amazing game that is BEGGING to be released from the exclusivity cage.
Honestly, the story is bad. Literaly all we saw is a remake of Sonic frontier:
Eggman find a artefact and put Sonic and friends in danger: ✔
Sonic get miraculousely separeted from them and listen to a voice who help him to found the good way cause he lost : ✔
Sonic friend are semi fantomatics and need Sonic help: ✔ ( the only difference is you free them from the ghost form in the game )
A strange new character was created to take care the artefact: ✔ ( Eggman created Sage to help him found the artefact and control him later)
The strange new character have to sacrifice himself to fight the boss : ✔ ( Sage sacrifice in the first ending )
The strange new character begining to become more social with the helm of Sonic: ✔
Giant and purple final boss: ✔
Sonic and the other laught and go in there home: ✔
As a life long android user

It’s not only a mobile game. You can play this on your apple tv with your favorite console controller connected. That is how I played it on my oled and it works just as a console. It’s great
It’s a common issue with Sonic games. They always have to be limited on what systems they are available on and it’s annoying. Hopefully it gets ported in the future because remember when Lost World was exclusive to Nintendo consoles but got ported to Steam 2 years later
I played it on my M2 iPad Pro so I got Ultra Graphics at highest Frame Rate, so fun but I still wish it was on Consoles
I played it, it’s pretty good, especially (Ultra) Ego City Zone, I’d say act 1 is the best.
Other missions are pretty neato too but I don’t think I’d go back.
Bosses were hard to understand at first but I beat them.
I’d say this is a very forgiving game, you can also get over a thousand rings if you keep pressing the checkpoint button, rings will respawn while keeping the rings you already gain, I had a descent time exploiting that.
Final “boss” was boring though, beat it on my first try.
Pro tip: even on an old device, don’t do ultra low settings. It’s optimized for like, an iphone 6s, so stutters and 30 fps are built in. I played the game on a 2018 ipad mini and it could run the highest settings at the cost of battery, so medium at 1080p should work for most
Okay. This is interesting to see Cream back in action. She has been a spectacle for conspiracy theories for years now. I wonder what really inspired them to tag her back in?
Hopefully the reason isn't because Sega just wanted to use cream as a genuine pig. But I think it's cause everyone on hard light were huge cream fans. And I think it's also they wanted to make people happy and finally bring back cream. All she did was exist and Sega backstabbed her in the back for 10-12 years. They must have felt really bad!

This is a great game, though the description of having to buy a thousand dollars device to play it was a bit exaggerated, you can get an apple TV box for about 70 dollars, which is a lot cheaper.

It is the best sonic mobile game out there in my opinion.
It works really well if your device has an m1 chip or above
But the next one is Sonic advance trilogy and also a mini games who can play with and also a battle mode and a pinball mode and also Sonic advanced trilogy one two and three and Freedom planet DLC stories but even in Sonic Superstars when they discovered a black dragon. He is a new son of character named Blade when black lilac like was being created by Jack hedgehog But it was the Sega Way to create the black dragon against types of dragons. But lilac is the last dragon the water dragon when the connected to cyan emerald
About the creativity part, sega hardlight were the ones with the creativity
I played this on my M1 Macbook and it was so much fun, imo the quality of the game declines as the game goes on, but it's still so much fun
I think they really nailed the "dreamy" aspect on the first stage, other ones were cool but just didnt really feel like dreams

Sonic Dream Team is a good Game and I had a great experience with the Game. The playable characters are great but my one problem that I have with the Playable Characters is that Sonic and Amy have the light speed Dash and the other characters don’t have the Light Speed Dash. The Story is pretty good and the voice acting is good expect Rouge she sounds a little bit weird. While always Great Video SF Productions)

So disappointing how a Mobile Game is superior to the Mainline Console Releases in many Aspects. I also hate how I won’t be able to play this game in a Month because of the Subscription Service Bullshit.
I am only annoyed by Apple Arcade because Apple seems to go out of its way to make serious development on its devices a nightmare, especially for independent or small developers. Apple products require "Code Signage", which has nothing to do with coding and is an arbitrary license saying basically there is nothing malicious in the code. That makes sense. However, you need to pay $100 per year to keep it. Also, Apple aggressively forbidding 32-bit anything also scared people still working with old software that may never get a 64-bit version. I know 64-bit is better than 32-bit; however, there are some cases where some people have no choice.

I can see why Sega made it exclusive to Apple. It looks cheap and the levels seem very empty. The cut scenes remind me of the Storybook games for Wii. Easy pass for me.
