    Are you using any material other than FR4, which is better, and is there a need for it?
    What are the N2 C2 Y1 capacitors, are they something like 100B 100C or regular NP0?
    Thanks!

    3rd harmonic at 55dB down is frigging outstanding dude...fantastic work. I would love a wider bandwidth version for all the ham bands but I know the drama required to get that.

    Hello Sharky engineer:
    Recently I'm building a large signal RF amplifier for narrow band use at 14.27MHz or 21.4MHz.I decide to use the Freescale MRF1K50H LDMOS in a single-ended Class C or Class AB circuit.But I can't find any impedance or S parameters about that LDMOS below 30MHz on the Internet.So I come here and ask you if you can find any these parameters.I appreciate it so much.

    So that's 2000 average! Wow! Does the power drop significantly on 55 volts? I have a 55x55 power supply. I know they are fragile on the input. What's the max? 10 watt Carrier but how about swing?

    • @MudDuckSharky

      10wPEP or CW max. I'll post a link to the specs under this vid in an hour or two, along with an assembly video that shows how to solder the fet.

    So where does a person get a 65 volt power supply ? Is that why hardly anyone uses these ?
    Is there no magic wizardry conversion flux capacitor inside the amp to convert 13.8 volts to 65 ?? That aside ,, how much is one of these completely built ready to hook up and use ? If you build it ?? Or do you not offer that yet ?

    • @fnordist
      @fnordist 3 года назад

      An HP ESP120 delivers 2950 watts of power at 48V, slightly modified with a higher voltage 3100 watts at 57.5V. 57.5 volts are completely sufficient, the LDMOS work more efficiently at this voltage. Whether 2500W or 2200W does not matter.

    Can you operate the water-cooled pallet in a hermetically sealed housing?
    Normally you have to cool the transformers and resistors with air and a fan, but I want to try to cool the components using immersion cooling. The heat is then dissipated through the metal housing.

  • @ElMorroPerez

    Can you run this at 14 volts. If so, about how much watts does it put out? I'm thinking about trying this in my Diesel Wagon...

    • @fnordist
      @fnordist 3 года назад

      you need at least ten 12 to 65 volt 200-300 watt DC-DC Boost step-up power supply modules
      "IN 8-60V OUT 12-83V" which are connected and synchronized via 0.1 Ohm resistors for this purpose. Cost is in the range of $150 with a good housing.
      You also need very thick power supply cables. 50 SQM, as short as possible to the DC DC converter.

  • @rodneyhodge652
    @rodneyhodge652 3 года назад

    I love how some people on here think 50 volt ldmos is something brand new it's not it's been around for years lol. it's just not finely making it's way to cb band lol. If it were not for people like Sharkey and minster I don't guess no one would know about it. There is many different options out there now days. It's just not cost effective lol.

    So these are illegal for CB usage, they violate federal law. Sell/using this will find you in jail and fined. This has been forwarded to local FCC office.
