@SoNowhere_Xin: Alipay has a better translation feature than google. Not many Chinese in Xi'an know English, best to use made up sign language or the translation feature or point.
Lovely that you travelled to Xi'an, I did my bachelor there and it's definitely incredible! I also highly recommend you guys go to Chongqing if you can bare the hotness there(both food and weather), as it's so unique to be a modern city built upon mountains. Anyway, have a nice trip!

I prefer it to air travel whenever I can, since it’s much more convenient, environmentally friendly, and equally fast (airport usually locates way out of the metropolitan area, much harder to get to than the train station ). When you use translations apps, you need use very simple English when translate since Chinese language is very direct.
