- More than 10 years of work are behind the development of this Hillclimb/Time Attack weapon and what once started as a stock 270Hp Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 3 is now running around 760Hp, thanks to highly reworked version of the 4G63T powerplant. The reason behind using such an earlier evolution is because of how sturdy the earlier cast iron block engines and transmissions are, so as strange as it sounds this beast uses a stock 5 speed transmission. How remarkable is that on a car that is being raced for such a long time and is capable of a 0-100Km/h sprint in under 2.5 seconds?
This is a reworked version of one of the very first videos of our Channel, with added footage of the run that gave the overall victory at Platres Hillclimb 2016 to Mr. Lambrou.

Even so I own an Evo 3, I must admit that yes the block is sturdy, but the one people swap to is the 6-bolt block from like the 1G Eclipse or previous chassi of the Lancer GTI. They lack the under piston oil spray though.

Not really, more of a case of it being at the time one of the very few gearboxes capable of handling all the power. But now on 2019 a new unit may be on the way 👍

@@marfrandema1884 They were 7 bolt, but there seems to be considerably less reports of crank walking on them. And no the 6 bolt GSX has almost nothing in common with the Evo1-3 other than the gearbox casing. Same platform, but quite different in many ways. The RVR turbo is quite similar to the DSM but was fitted with the 7 Bolt.
@@SouthlandFlyer evo 1-3 is 7 bolt... 6 bolt is out of some dsm and vr4 galant... 6 bolt is the better/stronger motor that is much less prone to crankwalk... (I have a 6 bolt in my evo 3 because of this exact reason)
@@ce9aftw713 yes i am aware. Ive got a 6 bolt in a mirage that ive awd converted. Using 7 bolt head and a general mix off parts. Dome vids one my channel.

This is Platres in Cyprus, but curiously there are really some similarities with the Amalfi GT4 track 🤔
Amalfi coast doesnt exist in real life, only the straight does and it wasnt amalfi it just was capri.

Why? Make a prototype of what exactly? It's simply a street car built for hill climb use. It uses group b inspired aerodynamics (similar kit can be found on the Sport Quattro S1 E2) to create downforce.
@@philip_si i love the aero 0 problems with that what i say is that you have to keep the base of the design, headlights and grill you can't touch them. Now It can be a lancer a logan or whatsoever that as it stands you can't appreciate the difference anymore.
