Love for everyone to show some support to SKY Helicopters. They help me out a bunch and have a great Instagram that's worth a follow. instagram.com/skyhelicopters/
That dumb and dumber reference lmao. That was awesome. Another great video Brad! Edit: "do you know with the something" "No" lol best back and forth in the video
Man I love this channel, and I love YOU Bradley (no homo) You are a great guy, I will never forget when you took that one girl ice skating on a frozen lake in the mountains and made her feel like she was dreaming. With out you she never would have probably experienced that. Keep it up man, I get a sense of relief watching your vids after a rough day negotiating with stuck up people all day; seeing you do what you love in BC makes me smile too, I LOVE BC I live in Alberta, Edmonton, no mountains or nature. :(
I absolutely don't mind you taking people to the hot spring, for me you can take everyone there and I'll be watching since its such a beautiful destination! one day I'll got there myself for sure! you can even make longer vlogs while you're at there! I'll definitely watch it! I love helicopters and your content! wish they were a bit more often but still not complaining. cheers over from Scotland!
Antenna orientation the tips of the antennas have the least amount of signal output so preferably you want to have the antennas pointed up with the flat part of the antenna pointed towards the drone
Controller antennas/antenni's, whatever you want to call them, place them so that they are NOT end on with the area you will be flying in, as that is where the signal is weakest. So if you flying directly above the controller for example, have the antennas so that they are flat. If you're flying infront of you then have them upright, you can place them in slightly different positions to cover a larger range. It was a problem years ago, however technology has advanced and it's not so vital now, but for proper usage and range, just follow what I said and you should be good. It might be worth a quick Google just to make sure I'm correct, but as I say it shouldn't matter too much. Congrats if you read this far lol, anyway, great vlog enjoyed all of it!
So I guess if "anyone" comes upon that bridge ...they are just going to have to wait till you get back and leave? Nice!!!....p.s----Getting a "Thanks" from Bentley was worth the VOTES I CAST........Good Luck making The Top 5
Bradley so happy to see you doing so good on youtube now i subbed back when you did the videos with Tom and u only had acoupe thousand subs keep up the great work loving the videos
brilliant reactions. Alfie is great in GOT. pity you don't live here. i was looking a helicopter to help with going to see all 10 game of thrones doors.
Takes about 2 to 5 minutes to move the Heli depending how warm it is still. I know the next comment is "Well what if it's an emergency and someone was injured..." Well... Who would you rather run into in case of an emergency then a helicopter? In fact, one time I was parked on the bridge, and a guy came running up and asked to use the radio in the helicopter to call for help. I said, "There really isn't anyone listening that can help, what's the issue?" Him and his friends were riding bikes down the logging road and were racing down a steep hill. His buddy crashed hard and screwed his arm and took a bunch of skin off his whole body. I fired up, flew the guy down the river to find his friends. Then flew the injured guy down to a fishing camp to get help. I would have taken him all the way back to the city, but he didn't have any major injuries. So, I'm kinda okay parking on the bridge. As for the use on the road. This isn't a road that has any access. Any vehicle needs to be barged up the lake. We always check the logging camp before landing. If logging is active, which it hasn't been all winter, we land up above. If logging isn't active, then we park on the bridge.
Bradley Friesen that is really cool story, have you thought about making a series about stuff you experienced, seen through out your flying carrier? that would be really awesome and could possibly draw more people to the channel!
Thank you, Bradley for sharing this. I've returned to this video quite a few times every other month or so. It was Alfie Allen's name that drew me to it (because that man is just an acting genius) but then I realized you were the "Helicopter guy with the bulldog" and to my delight, I was well familiar with your beautiful and fun videos.
DJI antennas should point upwards and back a couple degrees when the controller is flat otherwise if they're parallel with the ground, half the signal is being directed straight into the dirt. 9/10 the drone will be ahead of you so as stated previously the flat side of the antenna should roughly point towards them. Great video as always!
As an island girl (Vancouver Island), I must say the edits on this particular video were amazing! Terrific story....fab shots....drone footage is amazing (ND filters can help in my experience for getting an even smoother shot, as they lower the shutter speed but your locations are so epic I wouldn't worry about it)....again thank you so much for sharing the experience....so much fun to watch :) :) Best of luck and I'll go follow Sky on IG too :) Cheers from Victoria BC
It depends on the antennas, but given the look of those two it would be the side. The waves are emitted from the sides of the antennas. So point the sides towards the drone. Beautiful video as always. Whenever I have the time and money you bet I'll try to be an helicopter pilot!
Brad, love your videos! Have you ever flown skydivers before? All we need is like....4000 feet AGL...would love to take a trip up to Canada during the summer...just sayin!
Bradley, Mavic antennas - Flat sides towards the drone at all times for best range. So position depending on how you hold your remote. Avoid the ends pointing at the drone.
Those dang antenna on the dji remotes can be tricky. It depends on where you are flying. I always try to get the most surface area of the antenna facing the drone when I fly.
The strongest signal comes from the sides of the antenna so try not to point the top to the drone. It's also a good idea to have one horizontal and one vertical so you have a signal overall.
The Mavic drone controller antenna are fine the way you had it by the end of the cut. The signal apparently comes out of the sides of the antenna's not the top.
wow. I was just turned on to your channel from beyondslowmotion. and I am very impressed by your filming and editing and flying skills. Great job! Super inspiring!
On your mavic do it just like rabbit ears on a tv bc they are a combination of patch and dipole antennas rabbit ears with flat side facing slightly upwards is optimal. I doubt you'll get this but worth a shot. Shout out if u do.
A question for you that most likely has been asked/answered before but could not find it! How do you get your audio? I've just bought a new Gopro and the Bose A20's, what kind of cables would I need to be able to get the in heli comms plus ambience and maybe even ATC like you have it? Any help would be appreciated. Not the most experienced audio person.
Love for everyone to show some support to SKY Helicopters. They help me out a bunch and have a great Instagram that's worth a follow.

saulogycustoms yep straight up and down.
agreed, perpendicular to the drone
Love their reactions, and the editing was great! Great work guys!

What's gonna happen the day someone needs to drive across that bridge but comes to find two helicopters and the canadian santa blocking their way.
He's said before that its an abandoned logging road.
Takes about 2 to 5 minutes to move the Heli depending how warm it is still. I know the next comment is "Well what if it's an emergency and someone was injured..." Well... Bradley Friesen z
Ohh ok. Great content as always! Made people think I'm crazy from laughing to myself on the train.
Bradley Friesen that is really cool story, have you thought about making a series about stuff you experienced, seen through out your flying carrier? that would be really awesome and could possibly draw more people to the channel!
This way, wait um, that way. Great flying and great video!
He Bradley, the way you had the antenna set up on the mavic controller was prefect.
Excellent piloting as always Bradley, both the little and the big heli;) awesome guests as well!
Such a beautiful spot to fly!
God your videos are amazing. Also actors from 2 of my favourite series, perfect.

Thank you, Bradley for sharing this. I've returned to this video quite a few times every other month or so. So needed the airwolf music on initial takeoff :)
Those intro reactions made my day!! Nice Brad!!

Two thumbs up! I giggled the whole time!
Awesome dude! deserve everything bit of popularity you get!

beyond awesome. you are amazing
The grading on the drone shots was so good
brad love your vids. I forget if I ever asked you to do a vid where you explain all pilot lingo. like when you talk to the tower and other pilots.
Awesome job on the video, you are an inspiration to everyone who has a You Tube channel!
These episode are so fun to watch.
Nice vlog. I loved the reactions.
I guess the do not distract the pilot on take off and landing rule does not apply? But you seem to handle it well. Another great video.
Brad, love your videos! Have you ever flown skydivers before? All we need is like....4000 feet AGL...would love to take a trip up to Canada during the summer...just sayin!
AWESOME episode
Well Done Bradley. Nice Episode! :)
Greetings from Bavaria!
Those Thrones boys love ya Brad.
incredible man! your videos are super fun to watch
You are sorely tempting me to bring my jetski up there for a third time... I can't get enough of that place... is the river up right now?
I like the part where Bradley says he flies a lot in the MS flight sim. That makes me feel better!
AMAZINNNN PLACE BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT
He picked up on the your beautiful joke whilst concentrating on landing in a restricted space. That there is skill.
Awesome content, awesome aviation, keep up the outstanding work!
Bradley, Mavic antennas - Flat sides towards the drone at all times for best range. So position depending on how you hold your remote. Avoid the ends pointing at the drone.
Epic video as always. Great work guys!
Those dang antenna on the dji remotes can be tricky. It depends on where you are flying. I always try to get the most surface area of the antenna facing the drone when I fly.
3:23 was that a bird call?! 😂

Dreamjob :D Love the good vibes as always !
This was epic!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

wow. I was just turned on to your channel from beyondslowmotion. and I am very impressed by your filming and editing and flying skills. Great job! Super inspiring!
Bradley, are you gonna be at EAA Airventure in Oshkosh this year? Would love to meet you!
Nice video, brad and trev
Would you be able to do some more cockpit videos specifically with ATC, landings and mechanics of helicopter flight?
Just awesome
Is Bradley a tourist guide ?? He is always showing beautiful places to people.
The Bob Barker scene of Happy Gilmore was filmed at Fury Creek Golf Course near Squamish
That dude in the front was scared shitless.
Mihai Mihai that was Boyd Holbrook
Awesome as always 👌🏻
Brooooo! Please a new video my man!! I miss them so much! ❤🙏
Really cool stuff. Definitely deserves more views :D
This was just great man
Do you guys have Will Sasso on your radar at all? he's from Vancouver and comes to visit his folks every now and again.
Bradley... you gotta get Gary Vaynerchuk up there.
On your mavic do it just like rabbit ears on a tv bc they are a combination of patch and dipole antennas rabbit ears with flat side facing slightly upwards is optimal. I doubt you'll get this but worth a shot. Shout out if u do.
Good job Brad. keep it up
A question for you that most likely has been asked/answered before but could not find it!
How do you get your audio? I've just bought a new Gopro and the Bose A20's, what kind of cables would I need to be able to get the in heli comms plus ambience and maybe even ATC like you have it?
Any help would be appreciated. Not the most experienced audio person.
