  • Take a look at the grocery store shelves and you will see an incredible number of food choices. How did they all get developed? Who works to make sure these choices are safe, nutritious, and delicious? Who comes up with new products and how? Who works to maximize value for producers?
    Food scientists do this and a lot more!
    We took a tour of the Food and Agricultural Products Center at Oklahoma State University to learn more about food science. It turns out, we not only benefit as consumers, but it improves our state economy as well!

    There's the potential for a lot of money to be made (or maybe lost) in the food industry. Come up with the next great product, and watch the $$$$$ roll in, if you can market it.

      A big part of what they do is help food entrepreneurs develop business plans and product and packaging strategies. They have helped several Oklahoma brands make it to market.
