    This is SO helpful for studying!! Really puts all the pieces together. Are there grants to do more of these? You should find them and do it, its SO useful.

      It doesn’t. He just refers to „enzymes“ which is very not specific..

    Very good animation - one issue though is the rossette (ring) is actually hexameric in structure, meaning there should be 6 lobes with either 3 or 6 polymer synthesizing enzymes in it - i.e. 6 lobes, each lobe producing 3 or 6 glucan chains. This is the current and most widely supported model (I work in Simon Turners lab on this protein complex)

      Hello Thomas, I am student of M.Phil and have recently started work on it. Can you recommend me articles to understand details about structure of this enzyme/enzyme complex?
      It'll be great help, Thank you

      @@tehreempervaiz5927 I'd recommend a review by Polko et ap 2019 in Plant Cell 'The regulation of cellulose biosynthesis in plants', and Turner et al 2018 in 'Cellulosr synthase complex organization and cellulose microfibril structure'. Of interest will also be the 2020 structure of a lobe by the Zimmer lab: Purushotham et al 2020 in Science 'Architecture of a catalytically active homotrineric plant cellulose synthase compmex'

    This is amazing! It does a really good job of bridging the cellular level mechanics with the broader organismal scale in a visually appealing way.

    How does the cellulose move out of the cell membrane? Is it through diffusion?

    • @Preciouslily4655
      @Preciouslily4655 3 года назад +1

      Cellulose is just a tough substance and cell wall of plant cells is made up of cellulose

    • @bio3700
      @bio3700 3 года назад

      Hello. I hope you are well. Cellulose is just the structure of plant cell walls. It doesn't actually diffuse, it keeps the cell wall strengthened. Hope you understand.

    • @tonischoolemail6500
      @tonischoolemail6500 2 года назад

      I know this was asked a year ago, but it doesn't seem like it's diffusing. The enzymes take the smaller pieces of the cellulose and transport them out of the cell by adding them onto the protein. You're looking for how the enzyme works. It's probably not diffusion because it doesn't look like that's what the enzyme is doing.
