    Weird and amazing) that they found the perfect looking young Jessica Chastain, who can also act her ass off like her older self. Casting should win an Oscar just for that.

    What blew my mind after a few watches is the makers of the tesseract ('they') were human, but descendants of the Brand/Cooper/TARS colony. TARS would still have the data from the Black Hole, in turn, would have evolved the colony differently than Earth.

    I love that, if you think about it, we are even getting a form of fairy tale ending. The hero returns victorious, receiving praise for his heroic deeds, and is gifted the hand of the fair maiden. As Murphy says, she's likely just bedding down for the long nap. Just waiting for the heroic Prince to wake her up when he arrives.

    Fact is... we know NOTHING beyond the event horizon of a black hole. When Cooper drops into the black hole is complete speculation and creative liberty. And this... is brilliance. I love this movie and their take on the events of what might happen in the singularity of a black hole. Love? True is the psychiatric trope of movie making. You find that love is the 'answer' in many films. The Matrix for example. But this, it did not feel like time travel. It was more time experiencing. The science in this movie is impressive. The visualization of what a black hole might look like is boggling to the mind and probably the most accurate ever to us in the 21st century. Love this movie and I totally love your reaction. Tears are okay, if not necessary. So thanks for showing a little emotion. The best line of the movie to me is, 'because my Dad promised me.' OMG, as a father myself, keeping promises to your children is in one word, SUCCESS! Keep reacting, I'll keep watching.

    • @MrValentineReacts
      @MrValentineReacts  3 месяца назад +2

      That's probably why it is so profound; it may very well be accurate. Having recently re-watched The Matrix I resonate with your contention.
      This film legitimately gets better with each viewing. Cogent arguments you made, and I'm grateful you watched with me 🤙🏽

    • @danifeatherby
      @danifeatherby 2 месяца назад +1

      To be fair they had a great deal of creative license even over and above what we do and don't know scientifically given that they even state that this is not a naturally occurring black hole but a obviously engineered one by "someone". That automatically throws out the standard rules of expectation of scientific realism. Moving into a dimension of space and time that we cannot even grasp let alone perceive it can literally be anything or imagination can come up with for it. Full respect though, because what they did come up with was gorgeous!

    I like your stuff, but I think this edit fell short. Interstellar has many scenes and sentences that really need to play out for you to grasp the gravity of the situation. You can't take a powerful moment and cut it into 1-2 second pieces, it doesn't work if you can't hear the humanity in the actors voices. I think you should take it down and release it in two pieces so you can make it easier to follow. Respectfully.

    This is my favorite SF movie. Congratulations for being one of the few reactors who understands the events in the tesseract. Few reactors do.
    The events in the tesseract are based on the idea of God’s time. This was conceived by Boethius (480-524) in his book, "The Consolation of Philosophy," considered one of the most important works of medieval philosophy. To explain how God’s omniscience can be reconciled with human free will, Boethius said that all time, for God, exists simultaneously (because God exists outside of time). Inside the tesseract, Cooper experiences God’s time, which suggests that the fifth-dimensional beings (i.e., our future selves) have evolved to a godlike state. The idea may be even older: in Virgil’s “Aeneid” (19 BC), Aeneus visits the land of the dead, where he sees all the dead, past and future.
    This movie has, I think, the most extraordinary casting achievement ever: Mackenzie Foy (young Murph), Jessica Chastain (adult Murph), and Ellen Burstyn (old Murph). Their facial structure is so similar, I totally believe it is the same person. Burstyn, by the way, won an Oscar for Best Actress back in the 70s and has won a Tony and Emmy too.

    11:35 Since you put up the "Nooo" graphic, it's clear you realized at some point that the poem "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" was written by Dylan Thomas, a Welshman, in 1947.
    It's likely, although unconfirmed, that Thomas was thinking of his father (who died 5 years later) while writing it.
    It's a short poem, so I'll put it here so folks can enjoy the entirety and not just a single verse:
    Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
    Because their words had forked no lightning they
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
    Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
    And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
    Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    And you, my father, there on the sad height,
    Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    ******************************************************
    Dylan Thomas died in 1953 at the age of 39, just 11 months after his father had passed away.

      How do you feel about Santa and similar stuff? This isn't a 'gotcha'; I'm genuinely curious. I don't know where I stand because a lie is a lie, but you don't want them to miss out on something their peers have either.

      @@Neogeddon We had a ton of fun as a family with Santa, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy, and other make believe. It was always explained that, like television and cartoons, that it was all fun, but not real. And that many kids had different ideas of what was real and what was make believe and that it was not our place to tell them that "Santa is not real". That was a discussion for them to have with their moms and dads. As they got older we had many conversations about how this applied to other areas of their beliefs and lives. It was a good foundation and a great jumping off point for raising kids that could have friends and acquaintances that may not believe all the same things they did, but they could still be friends. You can see where this can apply in many adult situations too. I never felt like they missed out on enjoying the fun because it was explained that it was supposed to be fun... and it was treated as fun. To this day, both my adult kids still get something from "Santa" each year... usually something cheap and silly. This year was a spatula for my son who is exploring cooking and socks for my daughter who is has discovered the sock monster that lives in the dryer is real!
