Love the way he said "yknow" when he did Paul haha
The "yknow" is the key to Paul. Put it at the end of the sentence and let it trail off. Dana Carvey knows that too.
300 people now agree
lol oh my god
Agree, but he doesn't have the pronunciations right with Paul at all, even the "y'know" is wrong pronunciation wise
Duooooooooo, Hari hari, Peace & Lov, Yap yap.
George is hard, nobody can pull it off perfectly but that’s a great John impression.
George managed it pretty well!!!
Steven Coogan can do a good George (All his Beatles impressions are spot on). He said, it's a bit like doing John, only high on LSD and with a hint of drag queen. I've only seen him do it once at one of his stand up shows, years ago though. TBH, he's pretty damn good, at a lot of impressions.
Kevin Eldon does all four Beatles perfectly. And George Martin.
Yeah, George is the one most people struggle with. Honestly he had such a unique voice
Justin long does a very good George impression as well
His "John" was spot on!
Not even close.
His George didn't work. The three impressions were passable.
You’re not British, huh?
John had a slower more careful approach but was quick witted at the same time. His accent was a higher British grade than the other 3- in fact his Aunt Mimi didn’t want John hanging around the other 3 because of their lower accent.
I closed my eyes when he did it - I only heard John come thru. He really needs to do a couple lines to prove if he is really good!
Why did he do Paul so accurately? He said y'know and the hand movements, visible increase in energy. The facial expressions. And he said "sort of like that, y'know" I swear I've heard Paul say that before.
Thats how paul says it sort of like that yknow
I think I've heard him say that too! In interviews whenever he hums/sings part of a song to move along a story about him songwriting, he often says, "Like that, y'know?"
@@monica3020 paul is dead
@@richardvanderstelt7365 you're an idiot
@@jpringle1979 come now, that’s a little bit harsh, no?
Besides. He is 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I once did a less impressive party trick of having four beetles in my mouth and now I have some type of parasitic disease.

That's funny as hell

@@Booksaremysolace what would shift this from being underrated to rated? Or do you just say things are underrated when you like them?
"And Ringo's right in the front like that, you see."
He's clearly never seen the video for "Help!"
Interviewer to Ringo: Are you a Mod or a Rocker?
Ringo (immediatately): I'm a mocker.
What do you reckon?
@@royayersrules In the "Help!" video, Ringo sits behind everyone else and holds an umbrella the entire time.
@@byronp2311 It wasn't exactly new even then, everyone was saying way before the Beatles got going

His Ringo was quite impressive.
@Elizabeth Thorburn Jones kind of
It just needs to be a little deeper.
He did all four on the spot, each Beatle has completely different voice. Each completely separate from the last. For what it was is impressive
Yes being that Ringo is always the toughest one to get right.
Ringo's a lot deeper ngl, a bit closer to Paul þan George
George is by far the hardest one to pull off, but the other ones were pretty much on point
I think the paul impression was overdone
These impressions remind me of the voice actors in Yellow Submarine
Aren't them the Beatles themselves?
@@giacomoc4119 no the Beatles didn't do the voices in the film which I found was off putting, in fact the Beatles didn't even have much involvement in the film.
+@@DaringNote62 Wasn't it 1, 2, 3, 4?
@@DaringNote62 Aside from the live-action sequence at the end.
Funny thing, one of the voice actors, Lance Percival, actually voiced Paul and Ringo in the cartoon series that aired from '65-'67, before Yellow Submarine was but a twinkle in the producers' eyes.
@@aaronorenstein5963 Lance Percival was also the voice of "Old Fred" in Yellow Submarine. Also, Geoffrey Hughes, the voice of Paul in YS, was Onslo in "Keeping Up Appearances", and still sounded like Paul in YS...
So technically, if they did a Beatles animated movie now, they could have Simon Pegg play all four 😁
Hilariously, they've never made an animated Beatles movie with the voices of the Beatles.
@@MisterSynyster As a kid I had no idea it was not their actual voices in Yellow Submarine but after re-watching it in my later years it is pretty obvious. Great film.
Nothing technical about it so I'm not sure why you said that unless you just thought it sounded smart.
@@MisterSynyster no animated movie is ever made with the voices of the actual people. If they were able to get the actual people, they wouldn't have to animate it. Think about things every once in a while.
@@juliebraden6911 I'm imagining the Underwater scenes in Yellow Submarine might have gotten a bit expensive for live action, no? Think about things every once in a while.
Dhani Harrison does the best George. And that's without even speaking!
Agreed! No Paternity test needed there.
@@wanderer1955 I think a paternity test is needed to make sure George is his father and not just him
@@sylph8005 "and not just him". What the eff does that even mean?? Clearly English isn't your first language.
@@wanderer1955 English is my first language, but I kinda knew that I was screwing up that sentence when I wrote it. I was probably tired too. To ruin the joke by explaining it, I was referencing how they look exactly the same, so they would have to make sure Dhani was George's son instead of just actually being George.
@@sylph8005 Ah! Now I get it!😁
This is why their harmonies sounded so good, diverse tones and resonance.
and then you have the Beach Boys, 3 brothers who sound similar, 2 of which sound incredibly similar, their similar-sounding cousin, and a childhood friend who also sounds similar
@@notanotherjamesmurphy5574😂😂😂 brilliant. Seriously never figured out which song was sung by whom.
Generally, really different voices cause harmonies to sound off because of the diverse tones, resonances and harmonics. That's why sibling harmonies often sound better.
@caveydavey2486 Could you share an example of this?
I once heard that harmonies that are slightly off tend to sound more real and earthy, where perfectly aligned harmonies sound a bit fake and robotic (like what you might get with autotune).
Bee Gees
Simon Pegg is so fab. Georgie was a little wonky, but the rest were great.
In order to do a proper George Harrison impression, you need to be throaty while talking/ singing in the higher registers.
What are you hearing?
Who is Georgie?
@@martinmartinmoone3104 George Harrison? Lead Guitarist Of The Beatles? No?
@@raghuvansh1293 I grew up in Liverpool with the Beatles and nobody called him georgie
The George must be the hardest of all to imitate, for anyone. One reason that George's particular intonation sounds so brilliant on the early songs, especially. I can listen to a song like "You Like Me Too Much" on loop for over an hour.
This is TOTALLY my theory too! so weird to hear someone else say it, I'd long pondered the idea that the reason P, J and G sounded so good in their harmonising together was because all cavities were present, nasal, mouth and throat, wow this is mad to hear echoed
Damn thats a dope theory
It's really cool to think of it that way, but the singing voice is quite different from the speaking voice. They actually activate distinct parts of the human brain, that's also why most people sing without accent! :)
This is an incredible theory
@@DaniloSilva-pl3sq What do you mean, without accent?
@@ramonparelladamartin4877 Most people lose their accents when they are singing
I love how he does a soft S with Ringo “It’s right up in the front, you zee.”
George was off, but otherwise it was good.
To me, his imitation of George sounds more like John than is imitation of John lol.
Dan B Yeah the George sounded like early 60s John to me. I have found that nobody can do a good George, maybe it’s his slightly different accent
george impressions are literally impossible
oh please
justin long did a really good george impression in walk hard
I'm hearing John, Paul, John again and Ringo.
lol the way he says "You know" as Paul sounds like the Queen's English.
No
what the fuck are you talking about?
Didn't you know Paul has often been standing in for the Queen for decades?
It's ALL the Queen's English...
@@michaelrawson6261 na.
Nailed them. Twice as effective that each only got a sentence and he was done. Like a drive-by impression
Any other Americans like myself thought he said “math” not “mouth” at first?
I think that’s because they do math in metric
It wasn't just you. That he didn't say "maths" should've tipped me off.
I could not figure out what he was saying at first. I thought he was maybe saying "your man" (?). (I'm American.) Finally realized towards the end. So you not alone! I thought the impressions were spot-on though!
I thought he said brain, I was confused
@Da Dole99 you're cool
Very good. Simon proves here once again and then twice again that "The human voice is the greatest musical instrument."
John, Paul, and Ringo were spot on...George wasn’t bad, just not as good. Either way...applaud this bloody man!!! 👏🏻 😂
I do believe the fab four would love this. Simon pegg is such a talent. R.I.p. John& George🎶😎🎶.
0:24 paul hand gestures were spot on haha
"George Harrison" from Broadway here: and I agree with comments listed, George is very hard to nail down, took me a long time to find that space where you speak in his voice. It's similar to John but it's a bit more gentle and the speed of his contemplative cadence is definitely key. I feel like his voice changed a lot too. You watch A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, his voice has more of a drawl and sibilance to it, maybe after coming off of having a sore throat from their American tour. But when you get to 70s and 80s interviews, his voice is much earthier, like he's channeling the spiritual guru that he's become.
I thought he was just going to do a Liverpool accent for all of them but he actually nailed each one.
I really enjoyed this. I'm from the States and have been a Beatles fan since I was a 70s kid. Sadly, they were broken up by then, but their music lives on.🎙🎹 🎸🥁🤘

Brilliant impressions, never heard all fab four impressions before. Simon is amazing.
Damn, had to watch that a second time. He definitely nailed John and Paul!
Yeah, he nailed them and did them in his mouth

Wow he got them exactly. 👏
Search "Jess Harnell does all 4 Beatles voices". That's how it's done. Harnell did the voice of Wacko on Animaniacs, among other voices
Thats funny. I said the same thing and then saw your comment. Yeah, Jess was way better.
I just watched Jess, he wasn't as good as Simon Pegg.
Harnell's impressions were rubbish, well at least to a British person.
All the Beatles sounded the same.
Well, if he does Wacko, he's basically doing Ringo with an American accent.

George Harrison: These are not the droids you’re looking for
Sir Alec Guinness had that kind of speaking voice throughout his acting career.
You will not find a greater hive of scum and villainy
Simon Pegg just makes me smile as soon as I see him,he is sensational.
This is a good impression. Commenters arguing otherwise may be mistaking an _impression_ for an _imitation._ They're not the same thing. An _impression_ is just what it says: the artist's subjective impression of a person, a caricature that gives us the flavor of its subject by emphasizing a particular quality or qualities that we identify with the subject. It's not intended to sound exactly like the subject. The theory is that caricature conveys the subject more forcefully than a strictly accurate representation would. The genius of a really good impression/caricature is the creator's emphasis of traits that the audience at best only subconsciously recognized, but which become instantly and consciously define the subject once revealed to the audience. In this case, what makes the impression good is the idea that the four Beatles speak from different parts of the mouth; in this sense it really is one impression of the four Beatles collectively, not four separate impressions of the four different Beatles.
The Brits use the word brilliant far to often. Having said that, Simon Pegg is forking BRILLIANT!!!
Wow. Best Beatles impression I've heard & it was a throwaway....
Absolutely. Brilliant Simon
2hat wasmkst impressive is how he switched between them all so quickly as he explained it 😆
That was great🎉🎉🎉
I wish the clip was longer 😉
I never knew the Beatles did a Simon Pegg impression
+1 Priceless ... !! Well, Done !!
Just like Peter Serafinowicz, Simon does 3/4 very well. George is tough.
Peter is a Liverpudlian, so it comes more naturally to him, whereas Simon, from Gloucester, applies the techniques shown to manipulate the tone along with the accent. Both very talented in creating characters and sometimes new voices to bring them to life.
Albert Hammond does George well.
@@Mudge07 It's not any more natural for a Liverpudlian to manipulate the tone of their voice than someone from Gloucester! The only added difficulty for Simon is getting the accent right, and it's not exactly one of the more difficult British accents.
The Shaun Of The Dead set must’ve just been one big Beatles-Off…….. with zombies
That was flat-out incredible!
Great work Scottie!! Always enjoyed your work dedication on Star Trek and Mission Impossible! I hope you are part of their next movies!
How the Beatles live in your "Math" .... kinda makes sense too. Thank you for your glorious channel!!!
I do a Pete Best imitation but never could make a living with it.
“I was quite prepared for that eventuality!” 👌🏼
Fun fact: Jess Harnell does an impression of all four Beatles at once for the voice of Wakko Warner.
Thats not true. Its just Ringo but in a higher register. Oddly enough that video was recommended right next to where your comment was.
@@jetnut89
Actually, I've listened closely to a lot of Wakko Warner dialogue, mainly 'cause I'm a huge Animaniacs fan, and I can hear little bits of John and Paul in there. Occasionally there's a little smidge of George. Also, is it the vid where Jess explains his Animaniacs audition?

Fantastic! One regional accent, four distinct speakers. Golden.
He didn’t really sound like George. He nailed the other 3.
George has that real thick liverpudlian accent. Very difficult.
I sure wish Simon could get a part two Paul movie. The first Paul movie is so fun and unique. We all could use another Paul movie during these unsettling times.

One thing that stands out to me in George's vocals is how much he was apparently trying to emulate John. Either that or they just naturally had very similar tonality.
Stevie Riks is the only one who can really nail George and he imitates the other Beatles fabulously as well (especially John). He's got a channel on RUclips. Look him up by his name.
