Inner Image is a triumph, the progression from Future Still to Interlude to Inner Image just flows, it feels very intentional and structured from Future Still to Interlude, but there's a delightful sense of you having fun, exploring, poking around sonic zones and aural landscapes that feels more...I don't want to say improvisational because there is obviously intent and skill at play in Inner Image, but there's something a bit more impressionistic and free-wheeling in it that I really love. You can tell you were having fun with it, letting your muse lead you where she will! Bravo, looking forward to what you're in studio working on at the minute given that progression!
I'm thinking about ordering just for one of those shiny Metallic packages...lol...I'm sure you've heard Jonsi, the Sigor Ros side-band, also great...After Jimmy Page, the Lead Singer for Sigor Ros is the best guitarist to use the violin bow against his strings to produce beautiful expansive textures...Anywho, the Deer told me to tell you "Hey'"---They're at my house now....Keep on Truckin..Will
Space and Space Art were two separate and unrelated groups. Space was the one that wore those space suits and they had a more disco approach, they're the ones that released Magic Fly, in 1977 around the same time Space Art released their debut, which was the one you were showing. Space Art featured Dominique Perrier who later played for Jean Michel Jarre.
Buongiorno, Dereck! I listened to your new album on Bandcamp and enjoyed it. I thought the textures were varied and resplendent. Perhaps on future releases you can attempt to use real rhythms rather than synthetic drums as I think this adds a human aspect to the music. But if that's the direction you're going for by all means do it again.
Absolutely agree with your comments on DJ Shadow... I like Tortoise so yeah... gonna check out HiM. Love what you share! 🤩

You are a light in these days dereck.Your videos are important to me.
Interlude by Dereck Higgins is worth the pennies. The music changes subtley, and is one of my best albums for travel.
It's beautiful music, really.

I'm sitting at home making these recordings for my pleasure. Not bothering with that. I've said a few times this music is for me first.
do you listen to eai [electroaccoustic improvisation] (the genre)?
I don't listen by genre so most likely I do.
