We have a large and proud Polish immigrant community here in New Britain, CT, USA where SBD headquarters is located! I've lived here almost my whole life and grew up with people whose parents came over from Poland and worked at SBD, so I can't think of SBD without also thinking of Poland! It's a little funny to me to hear you don't get all the new tools over there
I'll put that on my list for tools I can hopefully afford sometime in the next 3 years! Hahaha. Looks like I'm good to stick with 20V for large tools and M12 for my smaller mechanics tools.

Dewalt hasn’t failed me yet so I don’t have a reason to swap them out but it won’t take much for me to go ahead and make that purchase.
Imagine a universe where B&D stuck with the ELU grey. I like Dewalt, but that yellow just drives me mad. I can’t flip through their catalog without psychological optic nerve games making me all frustrated for no reason.
Could you do some tests of different methods for using an impact? Pushing hard into the bolt vs just keeping it roughly on the head, holding to the side vs holding square on the bolt head
Great work on these videos, I will say that there is no going back for DeWalt. They are only going to keep taking over for a very long time. They have leveled the playing field and then some at this point and they have a secret weapon dropping in a couple of months at the most that will really help them come back to the top where they should be.
Well I bought mine today after seeing this video. I’d rather invest in Milwaukee tools but I already have a ton of the 20volt Dewalt batteries and chargers.
Highly encourage all of you to write to your favorite tool brands and let them know what kind of tools you want, and want kind of performance you need. I've write servel times to dewalt to come out with tools similar to Milwaukee impacts. I'm a fan of both Milwaukee and dewalt tools. I think both are great, I'll be buying these as soon as I see them in store.
At some point... (akin to digital cameras and megapixels, etc) you've got enough torque for the job. Maybe not today, or next year, but at some point we'll want info on how long they last, can we get repair parts, battery life/cost per use, ability to control the thing, etc. But right now, torque is king.
Wont be sometime soon. Still need a high torque to do many jobs on a car. If we could use only a mid or heck only a compact that would be easy street. I dont see that happening within the next 10 years. If it does, we can retire happy knowing we helped you all get there!

milwaukee guy here. sheeeeesh dewalt said yerrr hold deez!!! if you can get similar results with a 4ah dewalt then thats basically the kill shot. that m12 w/ 6.0 is just the best due size i think. this is deff some good competition. lets see if big red does anything about it.
Crazy how this new atomic impact is more than half the specs of Dewalts 1/2 high torque impact. Yet being substantially smaller. Makes me wonder when Dewalt actually does make another generation of the 1/2" impact; would it also beat Milwaukee? 🧐
At work I've noticed when I started putting the bigger batteries from dewalt on my 1/4" impact it seemed like it hit harder and of corse lasts a lot longer than the smaller batteries like the ones your using! My boss has the big square ones that are 20v with 6amp hours and then the biggest ones they make are the big 20v flex volt batteries and they are 9 amp hours and right off the charger they can break stainless screws off halfway sunk! Pretty much as soon as it starts impacting the flex volt batteries bust stainless screws off....so if I was you I'd buy one of them 150-200$ batteries and use it for these tests because i honestly think you'll get better results with them!
I've been looking at that atomic and their new battery. But then I have that aircat 1056-xl, I paid $99 CAD for it. Its small but it still doesn't have the power I need a lot of the times. The toughest nuts and bolts I deal with are suspension, brake anchor, motor mounts, crank pulley, and differential bolts. 90% of those I can get my IR2235 into those tight spots to remove. Hell my IR 2235 with a 1/2" - 3/8" universal swivel adapter will open nuts and bolts my aircat 1056-xl can't with just a straight socket on it. And then there is the speed of my IR2235. 2-3 hits from the hammer and it will loosen anything. When I need to do something simple like a tire rotation sometimes I don't even hear the hammer hit its already just spinning the lug all the way off. Even the Big Milwaukee/DeWalt 1/2" full size impacts are slower at spinning lug nuts off.
Well I though it was a little more acceptable than “thank fuck Dewalt pulled their thumb out their arse and bothered themselves to conjure up some new power tools, impressive or not.”
Yep thats my dilemma. I'm wondering if the 921 is enough beans for automotive work and pickup truck work like lug nuts and suspension bolts. Wondering if I should wait for a their next mid torque or not.
Dewalt has released a new battery the "Powerstack" line, i think only in 1.7ah atm but i believe they will increase capacities in the future. I Would be curious to see what these atomic series tools, or any of dewalts 20v line will do with these new very high amp output batteries!
Hate buttons on impact drivers. If you’ve got big hand you always change the mode when you pick it up. At least I did on my Milwaukee one. Trying this Dewalt now. See if it’s any better.
Can you slap a FlexVolt battery on the DCF911? Vince at VCG Construction was saying the Power Detect DeWalts Preform a lot better on them. Curious to see how they both do on one actually.
8ah is the way to go. Man caver tools proved 8ah is more powerful then 6ah flexvolt whether its a power detect tool or flexvolt advantage due to 21700 cells. 9ah or 12ah should beat the 8ah due to 15 21700 cells vs 10 but its really the cells that matter more then dewalt marketing bs
Can you do a video for noobs like me who simply cant decide what to get? Like a good general overview of your favorite tools in each category (ex. Favorite 1/4” hex impact, good 3/8” impact wrench, etc)
Honestly all the major brands make decent tools for the most part. It kind of depends on which tools you want, how much you'll use them and your budget. Whichever brand you choose, try to choose so that you can get everything you want from just the one brand. That way you'll only need one brand of batteries. I have milwaukee tools and have had good luck with them but a guy i work with uses ryobi which are less nice but much cheaper and he's also happy. Another guy i know has all rigid and he's happy with his as well.
I like all the new atomics.. the 850 seems to be an upgrade over the 887. Both are 1/4 inch. And the 923 is the 3/8 version of the 921. 921 is 1/2 inch. They're all really good

They still need to sell a 20v electric wrachet. Just bought a dcf894 mid torque in may...damn. I love it, but the smaller size of the new would make it a lot more useful. I guess next year i'll pick up the new one.
The statement at 0:55 mark is funny, since this is the "Torque TEST Channel" where we've frequently seen that the listed numbers don't mean much. Shop Tool Reviews reviewed the 890, but they've since changed their testing methodologies, so a real comparison doesn't exist.
There's a place for analog ...digital buttons are cool and probably make people feel like the tool is better because of it... but when you're actually using the tools analog is faster and more efficient
I'd like to see a flexzilla impact gun tested. It's a compact impact gun that is sold as a kit with V-style fittings, a nice hose, and impact gun for $100 on sale sometimes. It hits pretty good imo, and I use it more often than my Aircat. I'd send it in for testing if your interested. They rate it at 800 ft-lbs "nut busting" torque :). Probably half that though

I've lived here almost my whole life and grew up with people whose parents came over from Poland and worked at SBD, so I can't think of SBD without also thinking of Poland! It's a little funny to me to hear you don't get all the new tools over there
@@LowlyDegenerate Dcf850 cost for now is about 149$ for bare tool. So its a little expensive
I'll put that on my list for tools I can hopefully afford sometime in the next 3 years! Hahaha. Looks like I'm good to stick with 20V for large tools and M12 for my smaller mechanics tools.
I would just wait for a sale on either the mac tools truck or home depot. I have the DCF921 when I can't use my air tool and it works good takes lug nuts off from trucks I admit there's few times I gotta break out the Milwaukee but it does an amazing job
Nice tool, good for dewalt, but I cant put the yellow tool in my box!
I hear you there. I screwed up a few years ago when I started my own handyman business and bought all dewalt. I started to regret it a year ago when I noticed Milwaukee has a lot more cordless tools that I could use. Dewalt hasn’t failed me yet so I don’t have a reason to swap them out but it won’t take much for me to go ahead and make that purchase.
pokes Milwaukee with a stick: cmon do SOMETHING
Imagine a universe where B&D stuck with the ELU grey. I like Dewalt, but that yellow just drives me mad. I can’t flip through their catalog without psychological optic nerve games making me all frustrated for no reason.
Could you do some tests of different methods for using an impact? Pushing hard into the bolt vs just keeping it roughly on the head, holding to the side vs holding square on the bolt head
Woo hoo, new Torque Test Channel video!
Great work on these videos, I will say that there is no going back for DeWalt. They are only going to keep taking over for a very long time. They have leveled the playing field and then some at this point and they have a secret weapon dropping in a couple of months at the most that will really help them come back to the top where they should be.
I’ve found that usually the difference between the big 3 ( Milwaukee, Dewalt, and makita) they are usually similar enough it’s just a color preference
Dewalt Baby! The strength of a thousand warriors!!! Joe the Tool Guy is a complete Bad ass! @joe the tool guy
Well I bought mine today after seeing this video. I’d rather invest in Milwaukee tools but I already have a ton of the 20volt Dewalt batteries and chargers.
Same
Highly encourage all of you to write to your favorite tool brands and let them know what kind of tools you want, and want kind of performance you need. I've write servel times to dewalt to come out with tools similar to Milwaukee impacts. I'm a fan of both Milwaukee and dewalt tools. I think both are great, I'll be buying these as soon as I see them in store.
My advice for Milwaukee is big sales until your new line of better than Dewalt comes out! 😄
Considering how damn long it's taken big yellow, I don't think big red is all that bothered
@@TorqueTestChannel like electric cars, we're all waiting on that magical battery technology for sure
Awesome work by Dewalt! Hard to beat the DCF901 deal at Lowe's right now though where you get a DCF901 for free after buying the compact drill and impact driver combo
For which kit? On my app it showed that you get a free circular saw
@@ThadrinC they give you a choice
@@ThadrinC use the website instead of the app to choose your free tool.
I’m a Milwaukee guy, and someone came in and said I’ve got that newDewalt that’s killing your Milwaukee stubby…. Now what? I said…. Good now let’s go to work💯
Made up story 🤓
I was going to get the 12v but i really didnt want a new battery i have tons of 20v dewalt stuff and would just like to keep them, now that we have these my dreams have been answered
This.
Do you have angle grinder for dewalt? If you do which on? Cheers
@@abccde3832 I don't own one but I've used them and they worked great for me in the automotive field.
Only reason I’m ok with the 911 is because it’s used as a free tool with a lot of different deals so not bad for a free add on
milwaukee guy here. sheeeeesh dewalt said yerrr hold deez!!! if you can get similar results with a 4ah dewalt then thats basically the kill shot. that m12 w/ 6.0 is just the best due size i think. this is deff some good competition. lets see if big red does anything about it.
We only have to wait a generation or two to see. That's the nice part about these tool wars.
Crazy how this new atomic impact is more than half the specs of Dewalts 1/2 high torque impact. Yet being substantially smaller. Makes me wonder when Dewalt actually does make another generation of the 1/2" impact; would it also beat Milwaukee? 🧐
rumors are it will come
@@dstblj5222 let’s hope I have patience for those rumors to come to fruition.
I'm late to this comment but since nobody else mentioned it. yes, their new one did. It's a beast.
I've always liked and own both Dewalt and Milwaukee.
Uh oh…honey, I know what I want for Christmas after the first rush at retail price drops…;)
very nice, wish they would have released this a year+ ago before i got into the m12 line for the stubby. But hey, "no ragrets"
I thought that was “No Regerts”? Am I really arguing how to correctly misspell a word? Lol
I’m in the same boat... team yellow 20v stuff and m12 fuel stuff
@@TCPUDPATM haha i was referencing the "no ragrets" tattoo from the movie We're the Millers
Love the joke, sad to see not everyone gets the joke.
I own Milwaukee, makita, and metabo tools. Unless we get a new stubby in the next 12 months, looks like I'm getting another battery platform haha.
Homedepot has a buy 2 batteries and charger for $199 and get a free tool, which you can pick this atomic impact wrench. Not bad.
I wanted to buy a dcf894 but... i'm now waiting for this 921 in France. I hope it's not too long
I've been looking at that atomic and their new battery.
The main difference I have noticed between air and battery is that battery has lower rpm so they seem less powerfull
Thank God Dewalt has brought something new out.
Well I though it was a little more acceptable than “thank fuck Dewalt pulled their thumb out their arse and bothered themselves to conjure up some new power tools, impressive or not.”
@@ShainAndrews it’s a figure of speech….
@@FishFind3000 he probably knows that, he probably owns a Milwaukee
Makes me happy with my purchase of the 921
The 12v line is so hilariously cute.
Look. Is big tool but small bat. Plz use.
I wonder to pair this 921 with power stack 1.7Ah to see if it gives extra punch
and smaller size
Can you do the Worx Impact Driver. I really like their drill..
@torque test channel I’m looking into getting the atomic to break a stubborn caliper bolt cause jerks at les Schwab way over torqued it
So when you had it in reverse, was it measuring breakaway torque?
Fiesta fiesta
The king is dead, long live the king! Not really, both are great but it's cool to see Dewalt making this tool
If the current most powerful DCF921 is the Atomic model, that means dewalt has a flagship that hasn't been released... Can't wait for that!
Yep thats my dilemma. I'm wondering if the 921 is enough beans for automotive work and pickup truck work like lug nuts and suspension bolts. Wondering if I should wait for a their next mid torque or not.
I realized my dcf887 impact driver doesn't like the I push down hard on it, the anvil skips
I just ordered and received the dewalt 913. I'm excited. Nice work.
Dewalt needs a ratchet
They announced that they are releasing a ratchet soon
Dewalt has released a new battery the "Powerstack" line, i think only in 1.7ah atm but i believe they will increase capacities in the future. I Would be curious to see what these atomic series tools, or any of dewalts 20v line will do with these new very high amp output batteries!
Hate buttons on impact drivers. If you’ve got big hand you always change the mode when you pick it up.
At least I did on my Milwaukee one.
Trying this Dewalt now. See if it’s any better.
I just wish DeWalt had the same or similar battery base as the Milwaukee M12
Can you slap a FlexVolt battery on the DCF911? Vince at VCG Construction was saying the Power Detect DeWalts Preform a lot better on them. Curious to see how they both do on one actually.
8ah is the way to go. Man caver tools proved 8ah is more powerful then 6ah flexvolt whether its a power detect tool or flexvolt advantage due to 21700 cells. 9ah or 12ah should beat the 8ah due to 15 21700 cells vs 10 but its really the cells that matter more then dewalt marketing bs
So more angry pixies + smaller package = more chooch.
Magnificent work!
I bought the DCF921 three month ago and every time I use it I have to disconnect the battery to make it work next time
Can you do a video for noobs like me who simply cant decide what to get? Like a good general overview of your favorite tools in each category (ex. Favorite 1/4” hex impact, good 3/8” impact wrench, etc)
Get a fuel mid torque and a fuel non surge 1/⁴ ,if I might add get the 1/² midtorque instead of the 3/⁸ because the sockets tend to be heavier
Another guy i know has all rigid and he's happy with his as well.
honestly these days between the big three there is nothing crap and its all pretty much excellent
I like all the new atomics.. the 850 seems to be an upgrade over the 887. Both are 1/4 inch. And the 923 is the 3/8 version of the 921. 921 is 1/2 inch. They're all really good
And now we know why the 12v 901 did not get a selector switch. They saved it for the 20v Atomic. But that's ok. The 903 has it.
You should do the Mac bl spec hex driver or the DeWalt XR driver!
Back to the drawing board Milwaukee
Have you tried maybe the Aeropro A301?
I just ordered the 913b with 2x 5ah batts and charger for $199 in Amazon. Seems too good to pass up. Hopefully not too good to be true.
Hey TTC!!! I request you test the 2235Ti and 189Thor (and maybe other air impacts?) on your dyno with their other power settings. (Aka turn the regulator dials down) Curious what those numbers are. Thanks for all your hard work and research for us techs!
GREAT Vid as always!!
Thanks for your work, you got a new sub.
Which battery would give the 921 more juice? An XR 5ah or a 3ah with the 21700 cells?
So which compact impact drill can replace or is on par with the Milwaukee M18 big impact drill?
Anybody got news if a new m12 stubby is coming out ?
They still need to sell a 20v electric wrachet. Just bought a dcf894 mid torque in may...damn. I love it, but the smaller size of the new would make it a lot more useful. I guess next year i'll pick up the new one.
I’ll stick with my 20 year old Ingersoll Rand 2135 titanium, I never get tired of that good old air impact sound.
We got one, just hasn't fit into our schedule yet!
Best review out there thank you
I think the dcf923b is gonna be calling my name once it’s released.
Please do the Aircat 1057-TH, could be a contender for #1 spot.
Bought a 921 for $125.....gotta shop around!
I really wanna see the 3/8 12 volt extreme brushless from lowes I got one for $99 came with bag 2 batteries charger and belt clip
Could you test dewalt against mac tools and see if the only difference is the color
Yes!
Is the XR line dead? Did I miss something? Where's the new XR stuff!?
will the dewalt dcf921b take off lug nuts and axle nuts..?..
Everybody so eager for the biggest number don't bother to think about ergonomics or how much a fastener can take.
I don't care for brand I care for the best overall tool for the job.
I’m very curious to see how that new 20v 1/2 compares to the other DeWalt 1/2 that I sent in, the 20v mid torque. Can’t wait to see the video!!
Lol, that video was going to be this week. But new tool keep delaying our vids! I believe that video will be comparing vs mid torques though, because some cross brand similarities there. But you can still compare the numbers here vs that of course
@@TorqueTestChannel soooo, will it be uploaded next week? Or are you gonna drop it this Friday? 🤔🤔 Two video week?
