Designing a 2-Axis CNC Machine

  • I need a specific CNC machine to make some custom parts. I also plan on making an aluminum CNC mill, so this project will help me catch the major flaws of the design.
    Parts:
    -cheapest Nema 17 stepper motors
    -24V 5A power supply
    -aluminum extrusions
    -specific parts will be available when I finish the project

    02:49 slight mistake , the stepper make 200 steps per revolution , 360degrees divided by 200 steps : 360/200 = 1.8 degree per step. Good luck with your project.

    Very interesting! Though your math was a bit off. The steppers are 200steps/revolution.

    How will you home the the axis?
    just manual by hand?

      Probably by hand, although I have some limit switches.

      @@TazerEngineering I just've seen the BTT SKR Mini e3 v3 has sensorless homing. I will try that on my diy 3-axis cnc
