My mother is Peruvian, my wife is Peruvian and yeah Peruvian food is top 3 (and No 1 depending on my mood)... Your intro on Lima was perfect, "grey" is the word to describe it. But the food... the food is something else. Love from Sydney.
I visited Lima in 2019 and honestly this video does not do justice to the city. In the end one who doesn't know the city thinks "Ok, Lima is grey and has great food... I'll pass". You missed on showing Circuito Mágico del Água, Barrio San Isidro, Huaca Pucclana, more of Miraflores and Plaza de Armas. I saw all that in only three days and those are places anyone would surely enjoy. For those crazy about football like me, I'd add that the National Stadium Tour is FREE, having the chance to visit the dressing rooms, Presidential Booth, the pitch and Museum...
@@rogersilveira6036Lima is all about the food. It’s amazing, and that’s what the video focuses on, it’s the best food in the world, that’s what I think is the most special thing about the city, people go to Cusco for the sites. And that’s totally ok!
Dear Malini Angelic, Lima is grey only 6 months a year, from May to November, from December to April it's sunny, with hot weather, blue skies and turquoise sea
Although shorter compared to other videos, I enjoyed this vlog so much. Lima offers many things, food is of course one of its pride but the cultural and historic heritage of an important city for several centuries cannot be dismissed. Hopefully you got a chance to witness that too.
Visited Lima about 40 years ago. As a child I remembered it as big dusty city. But I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Lima these days. The food, the architecture, the sites and above all the people. I have to visit again!
Lima has changed a lot for the better. I recommend staying in Barranco. It is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods by the sea, with abundant art, Republican mansions, restaurants, and bars. Additionally, Barranco is just a short walk to Miraflores
You're wrong. Lima has a beautiful blue sky in the summer. Additionally, Lima is a huge city with clear water beaches that you can find to the south, such as Punta Hermosa, Santa Maria, or San Bartolo.
Come on! Lima has a lot of great things but blue skies and clear water beaches are not on them. “El sur chico” menos. Beaches up north, close to the border with Ecuador are a bit better.
@@alllifematter327 I won't even start on tap water (and I've visited the drinking water treatment plant). And let's not forget the sewage treatment plant ( or the lack thereof) 🤣🤣

Great Work Angelica. Where is your spanish accent from ? Peru has an special Ocean. Peru is special because of its deep dark blue ocean waters. Very unique in the World. This is due to the hyper- abundance of Plancton. Where "hyper" where means "in excess". This is due to the Peruvian Current also called Humboldt Current. A huge amount of very cold water running from South to North. This current is as big as twice the size of Peru. As big as Colombia + Venezuela together. The hyper-abundance of fish and seafood made of the coastal areas of Peru the perfect scenario for stablishing the first civilizations in all America as Caral with 5,000 years old . Ceviche and several other seafood dishes, is the consequences of that abundance of fish. Also Peru was the origin of Surfing, but not for sport, instead for fishing using Caballitos de Totora. I appreciate a lot your very good informative video. Thanks from Lima.
I love this video! I got more calm and intimate vibes from this than some of your other videos so it's nice to see a different pace. I never knew Chinese immigrants influenced the cuisine in Peru, looks delicious! Keep up the great work you two

Great vid Malini. Thanks! Lots of street food too; was in Pueblo Libre and an old man on a bicycle had a metal box with smoke pouring out of it. He’s selling Tamales Ahumados, smokes tamales; amazing! Four major food types in Peru: 1: Mariscos: Seafood, like ceviche, choros and la chalaca, jalea, etc. 2: Criollo: Indigenous meals: seco, pachamanca 3: Chifa: Peruvian Chinese foods: lomo, like you cover! 4: Pollo a la Brasa: Rotisserie chicken Love them all!❤ Peru is to only country in the world where Coca Cola is NOT the most popular soda; it’s INCA COLA!!
I often have a hard time with youtube food reviews and commentaries; I find them annoying and not to the point. You, on the other hand, have found the right balance and your food narratives are spot-on. Thank you.
Well, now I'm hungry. :) Great video! What timely content. I am planning to move to South America for a couple of years towards the end of 2024. Peru was recently put at the top of the list of contenders, so to have this video come up so soon after deciding does seem like a good sign. Argentina was second on the list, but I'm feeling good about Peru. I hear Lima in the winter might have one hitting the pisco bottle a little harder. Apparently they average 1 hour/day of sunshine thanks to the climactic effects of the Humboldt current. I'm thinking Europe for the Peruvian winter!
@@maliniangelica1 It certainly looks like it! I'm a big ceviche fan, so I'm excited to try their version. I'm also pretty certain I could live out the apocalypse on a stash of empanadas, so... But none of it appears on your video, and you even say something like:"Lima isn't a textbook beautiful city"... Weird!! I consider myself quite objective, but in this case, you haven't been fair. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all.
The historical centre is in the video, so is the great food, so is the seafront, but I think more authentic places like Surquillo are just as beautiful as the malecon, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, and for me Lima’s beauty goes beyond the obvious.
