As a costumer I recommend that every 3-6 months you check your measurements against it and adjust as needed. I'm afraid I don't have a solution for taking away but for adding padding with quilting batting and some fabric should do just fine
Great vid, I suggested a little while back about doing a display for armour, I did not even consider about creating a mannequin with the measurements, love it. If I ever finish my armour going to make the same.
I made an xxl doll stand for mine, eliminating the need for holes in the feet. Tennis balls and dowel rods or pvc make great joints. Great stuff foam makes great limbs. Using great stuff foam also eliminates the need for as much skeleton. I love the way you do the Skelton.
XD omg your wife is adorable!! She needs to be in more of your videos. Watching the interaction between you two is hilarious. AND THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I've wanted to make a body double "Golem" for some time now with my costume projects, and now I know how thanks to you! You are great at all the things lol
The expanding foam tends to expand the duct tape in a different shape than your actual body. To prevent this, you could embrace a bit more discomfort and make a plaster body cast before you take the tape off. Then when the cast is done, strengthen the two halves up with some fiberglass and resin. Then you can strap it around the duct tape forms before you fill them and the foam will expand to your exact shape! And you have a handy body cast for any future projects!
It might be better to stuff the casing up with clothes and cotton etc and then do the plaster casting on that. That way you can just use a boxcutter or craft knife to take off the plaster cast and you won't have to worry about lining up two halves the right way.
nice. the full body form and pvc pipe skeleton is a great idea. I only did a torso on an old art easel. its good for somethings but some legs and arms will be good sometimes... I might make another.
How much of that expanding foam did you put in each leg? Only the one bag cut in half for each leg? Thanks for this I’ve been trying to figure something out.
I made one of these my own and I’m having an issue keeping it upright. I used just regular stuffing that I had around not the quick set stuff. Now the pvc pipe that holds the hips and spine won’t stay upright. I’m going take it apart and redo the skeleton out of wood
NEAT IDEA.. VERY NICE.. AS FOR A NAME.... KEVIN, BOB, STUART, LOVE THE ''MINIONS'' SO.... OR ''2 CLEVER''...!!! OH NICE RING TO THAT.... ''2 CLEVER''...!!
thanks for video, BF taped me up a couple weeks ago and the lack of movement was just scary XD but it was pretty funny when he had to go to the bathroom and I hobbled over to my bed room (I live entirely ground floor) and I laid down on the bed on my back and I couldn't get up. Ended up laughing so hard and crying it was too good XD
Excellent vid! Thanks for making me smile😃. I'm all for simple names, how about you call the dummy, er, Dummy. After all, he's the mirror image of Clever.
Nice vid! The 101 uses of a duct tape. Who would have known. If I may, I might called him Bard. I was closed enough to guess that your next project was a Druid. But hey! A Duct Tape Mannequin 🤣🤣🤣
@@SkillTree Man! I love that Druid staff vid (yep, your other vids as well). Reminiscence of good ol' RPGs where imagination run wild (and got all my dice set confiscated for bringing them to school, you know Colonial school). Oh wait. Next project maybe doing some D&D dice? 🤣🤣🤣
Another great vid, beautiful work my friend. How about you name it Clyde after the orangutan on the old Clint Eastwood movie “Any which way but loose”. Your channel is called “Skill Monkey”!
I've been watching for a long long time... and you still remind me of a squirrel Also something i learned doing similar long long time ago... If you try to use the roll and just unroll it around you instead of using strips. When you remove it the duct tape will actually Twist and it will be bad
Why didn't you keep it all together.fill it up with the foam and then cut the arms and waist away from the chest.it would've keep the shape of the chest and legs in the same area.and the arms would've been properly filled like everything else
They sell painter's suits with feet if you don't want to use socks. LOL. I would have to get help with the taping because I don't have full range of motion with my left arm. Can't reach very far behind my back with it. I would also need help with measuring the distance of my feet and the heights of things because I can't bend very well. LOL. It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again!!! I like this method, although I wouldn't use sika boom. Too fast acting and too expensive. Also, it sometimes shrinks after expanding.
He could be called Still Tree

Loved the jack skeleton quote at the end
Can't believe someone actually recognized it! Lol. Nice catch!
Your golem is awesome. Destined to be foamous!
Thank you! He was a lot of fun to make, and SO USEFUL!
Having been a child of crafters and married to one, I have learned to just get your own scissors for your projects. It's safer that way.
It appears so. Been sneaking those ones for a while now. About time I got busted I suppose
@@SkillTreemy good sir you played a dangerous game and it bit you in the ass it happened to me too
I love your wife, dude! Watching you two interact whenever she helps is so incredibly adorable and #LifeGoals
GREAT IDEA.... very useful for sewing and design.
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM
Great vid, I suggested a little while back about doing a display for armour, I did not even consider about creating a mannequin with the measurements, love it. If I ever finish my armour going to make the same.
It will go way faster if you can get 2 people to give you a hand with the tape part.
At least one of whom you have NOT annoyed!
Yall are absolutely adorable ❤

I’ve been wanting something like this. Thanks for the build.
finally, an affordable way to make a stunt dummy that doesnt involve fursuits
He’s a golem, and he’s silver… so I’m suggesting Goliver 😊. Great build dude 👏🏻.

Very clever. You're always coming up with great ideas I never considered.
Thanks!😁
The way she said 'twenty four hours later'😂😂😂 embrace the comfort...😂😂😂
It would be so rad to make a bunch of these for different kinds of armor
Use this same method to make a last for leather boots. You need to make some boots!!!!!!!! Great video keep it up😃👍✌️
How much of that expanding foam did you put in each leg? Only the one bag cut in half for each leg? Thanks for this I’ve been trying to figure something out.
I liked watching your video.
I vote on naming him Chester
You could call him “not so Cl3ver” 😂
That is awesome I want to try to make one myself I have costumes I want to try to make
Excellent project 👍👍
Great video thanks
PS maybe do a plate armor build
Definitely something I will be giving a try soon 😁
Great video @Cl3ver. I really enjoyed this. I might have to do this when I am able to get back into the house.
Let me know how it turns out if you do!
I was just thinking that I would like to see your whole harness in one place and boom, there's a new video where you show it off.
It was cool for ME to see it all together. Having a mannequin really makes a difference when displaying
Wonderful....Thanks.
Thank YOU for watching!
@@SkillTree You are welcome. Can you make a video on how to make a jacket with a felt fabric ...Thanks.

Good scissors are padlocked thru the handles ;)
“My TEN INCH measurement I pulled from between my hip joints. 😏”
🤣 I know, I know.... but if I didn't use a smaller number than the real deal it would just scare people away 😉
😂
I didn't know I needed one of these until now. Actually, I probably need 4 or 5 of them. :)
Awesome channel. Have you ever done any silk screening
This is more entertaining to watch than I expected.... and educational as usual :)
As for name... Silva?
I just got Duck Tape to make one this weekend. Timely. Thanks
A few names TInman, Ducky, Scarecrow(or Scareclever), Minime/Mineclever, or Mark 1. Your videos are getting better as you go... Keep it up...
Ducky is cool. Or maybe the creature is the scientist? Then it could be a Ducter.
🤣 all great choices!
@@sick0832 Doctor Ducter... I like it...
1:12 your not alone you got us, your wife and your dog
You should make some copper rings
I love this video I have a question can you make a mannequin that is sitting down as well
Does it also do chores?
Awesome, man! Really useful for my airsoft gear. Thanks!
" we shall call him not so mini me" , this was a good one, I was laughing and learning the whole time! 😂

im looking to do this and price it out... Do you know the length of each roll of DT?
Foam man
👍👍👍👍
Hey there Skill Tree! I was hoping you could get a chance to make your own Banner! Give yourself a nice backdrop to add to your whole design!
The best name ever
GREG
because it's surprising to name something that's epic something that's mundane

You should name him Smeagol.
Awesome
at 18:35 am i the only one who got flashbacks to boys in the school bathrooms? like when they would have that tape vertical rather than horizontal XD
This suggestion shouldn't come as a surprise XD
Jeff the Destroyer
🤣 But then I will have nightmares about him living in my basement

Wouldnt it be easier and same price to buy a mannequin?
You have to make a head with your measurements now
nastro uomo!
Another awesome video. We need to figure out how to get you more views.
What kind of whiskey do you drink?
I am partial to burbon mostly (Bullet and Elijah Craig are two I really like). I enjoy a Japanese whiskey called Hibiki too. How about you?
@@SkillTree I'm partial to bourbon myself. Buffalo Trace is the best. Give that a try, if you have it in your neck of the woods
Johny Johnson

Hi
You could name it “Frank”. Let’s be “Frank”, the puns are there. If you somehow put him in one of the beer steins... Frank-in-stein?
Or spend $75 on an actual mannequin. But where's the fun in that?
True! Way less fun. Also, not my EXACT size 😁. Can you drop a link to one that price though? That's really good. Is the quality good?
