You might think that. And I am by no means type of talent, that Nathan is. But my experience is that the truly great players take joy in recognizing and helping young and talented trumpeters all the time. Personally, Clark Terry (may he Rest in Swing), Wayne Bergeron, Chris Gekker, Phil Smith, and many others have either worked with me and others one on one, in masterclasses, or even just generously hanging out. The greatest trumpet players are always interested in helping other (serious ad humble) trumpet players improve.
ive never watched any trumpet videos before idk why this was on my suggested, but adam seems like a great teacher and nathaniel is killing it! good work fellas
It refers to the size of the throat (the part just below the cup before the back bore begins). We offer a few models as HC and non-HC. For example: XL2HC, LHC = 3.7mm throats. Non-HC = 3.9mm. This affects the "blow/feel/resistance" of the mouthpiece. Most standard mouthpieces are around the 3.7mm. Monette and the "Symphonic" versions of most brands are closer to the 3.9mm setting.
Not only is he amazingly talented, he is polite, respectful, kind, Intelligent and pleasant to talk with.
Not entitled and actually worked at something to make his life better
Couldn't agree more!
Love how Adam is willing to share with young kids...not a lot of artists at his level would do that.

@@michaelfoxbrass That's really pretty cool....glad there are others out there! Maynard Ferguson did a ton for young talent too.
I can't wait to see what Nathaniel does later in his career. He doesn't even sound like he's trying!
These men are playing the horn like it's nothing 😒 damn ! 🎺 what a gift
Beautiful stuff! Great coaching, Adam, and Nathan is a gifted young man! Looking forward to hearing him continue to grow and play in so many settings.
Ohhh snap we get to hear him on the horns too!! This is going to be wild 🔥

Wow. This kid smokes. I dig it.
He will become one of the great horn players ever, I am sure!
Bro Nathaniel is the Goat! Hope to see more of him in the future
Some FANTASTIC teaching here. Brilliantly done 👌
Wow! Geez. Natural talent.

Thank you for the video God Bless..
He's playing way above high C and appears almost effortless. How????
Outstanding
17??? Woooo! Get it Nathaniel!
Can’t wait for part 2!
coming very soon!
Dude. This guy is 17. I’m 16 and have half the range he does. How in the world does he do it
Bravo!
Hopefully I can meet this guy at some point and even play with him!
you know I've never been able to play that double A in tune let alone sit on it for a bit. lotus mouthpieces man...lol
Thanks a lot Adam to helped me to choose my new mouthpiece last week in Roubaix, it was a great moment of sharing.
So impatient to receive it.
Great that you came to Franck's house of trumpet fun!
thank you.
when is part two coming out?
It's in the video pipeline, stay tuned....
I imagine this is what Jon Faddis or Maynard sounded like at 17
This young man needs to play some Drum & Bugle corp before he ages out. Blue Devils bro!!!
That's probably how he got his chops
@@mikeotoole7908 he just plays jazz. Our highschool doesn’t have a marching band lol
Wow good range
And this is only part 1?!
Was it a high compression mouthpiece?
He doesn't need it. I think he was finding the 9S Brass to be the best.

He does not. He's a Bass Trombone player and does NOT need more to push against.
It was at this moment that I decided to give up playing trumpet lol
can someone please the tell me what kind of tuner metronome is being shown in the video at 5:42? i would like to get that
TE Tuner or Tonal Energy Tuner. It is a crazy cool app and has A TON of functions beyond tuning and time keeping. Must get.
fantastique
6:12 what is he playing?
The mouthpiece = LOTUS 9S Brass. Don't know if he was playing a tune or just riffing on a theme.
Are these trumpets professional level instrument or just schoolboy learners ?

Lotus make me think their made in china
@@nickmalone3143 They are not made in China, we're producing our products in Italy and the rest Europe.
great teaching adam, would love to have only one hour of teaching compared of having a houndred lessons by someone else
This 17 year old is going to be a great player.i hear Clifford in him but with more range
🇩🇪🎺👍
What!?
Some intonation problems. Flat... can easily be fixed.
I hear a lot of screaming high notes here. What I don't hear is music.
Go check out his tapes. He’s testing horns. He’s an exceptional player
