As long as you hear brode's sweet little lies it will all be fine, game seems fun for a week or 2 before you get hella bored. Slow grinding will be hella annoying especially if you don't get the cards you want.
@Adam Cosper just one, slow grind + fast gameplay has you doing the same plays over and over again. For a mobile game this is fine but when it gets to pc problems show. But if they introduce different way to get cards you like (basically giving me a choice of some sort) then playing it long term is possible. Game is fun tho its just i have no interest in playing Odin or hulk 10000 times for a chance to get a destroy deck or sonething else.

I love that it seems like there's multiple ways to build your deck - first would be building a deck of your favourite characters (obviously building around them for the rest of the deck), second would be to build the best deck you can, trying to have the most consistent deck possible and finally to build a deck that has a particular strategy that you have in mind. And the magical thing is - all these methods can work just as well, because of the way that the game is structured with random locations that affect the way you play and every round is vastly different. I love this, I hope it gets released globally or has a global beta test, not just limited to US, Canada, New Zealand and some other countries. Also, love the snap mechanic, it is very interesting and fresh in the CCG genre.
actually the complexity of Artifact was something that really pulled me in. Sad the economy killed the game on release (and also the game was pretty unbalanced from day1, some heros where very superior to the other). But the triple board gameplay, initiative, equpments was super cool.

Hey Trump, this game look really fun. I was really into betting on backgammon games with my friends and it has a very similar mechanic to the snap system in this game. Based on you advantage you could ask to double the value of the game and the opponent would either have to raise the stakes or forfeit on the spot. The extra layer really made the game so much fun.
Something about this game that attracts me to it compared to other slow moving card games and auto-battlers. More thinking and interaction and less waiting (other card games) and watching (auto-battlers) must be a better formula for a fun game.
@@symphonixblades that's like all mobile games though. Take a game like hearthstone for example, you "could" get all the cards for free, but the amount of time and effort required is not reasonable for anyone not playing the game like a full time job.

I play masterduel, but that is because of nostalgia and the adrenaline rush of winning with your favorite archetype. Sometimes you feel like a raidboss.

Since the only way to upgrade cards - and thus unlock new ones - is to use credits or boosters, and the only way to earn credits is to complete quests - of which you've a limited amount available per day - or to pay real money to buy the resources - which is also limited and time gated - once you've reached the point where you can do neither, you'll be stuck progression wise, even if you keep playing because completing games doesn't yield any credits, only boosters and XP towards quests and pass levels (that could admittedly give you stuff but that's an inconsistent source of income). Basically, you can get stuck, with no way forward but to wait for a daily refresh and that feels terrible, in my opinion. I think the game should reward you credits and boosters after every game played, otherwise it'll become too much of a grind. The way monetization and progression seems to work right now is a shame because I love the core idea of the game and the art is phenomenal. Supercell games work like this as well. Clash Royale and brawl stars are popular phone games that are pay to boost/win. They’re fun and apparently make ass tons of money. Games in general seem to be getting more and more predatory, with the mobile market in the forefront. I've also been hearing more and more complaints and even lawsuits against the companies of kids "stealing" their parents' credit cards to dump large sums of money into them. Gamers and governments really need to step up and realize this is not acceptable.
I'm confused about the upgrading cards thing, do you actually make your cards stronger in-game and that is the recurring loop that keeps people playing/earning/paying? Or is it cosmetics or building a collection that is what you want all the loot for? Or all of the above?

Game doesn't last that long too with only 12 cards in the deck, that's a recipe for stagnant meta. I really hope whatever they're doing with zone variety (and weekly zone) is really working to make each game feels "different", and not just some marketing bs. Need to try it first.

In poker gaining/losing chips is your health (and attack power), essentially, that's why there is a great importance in knowing when to play/fold, while in this case losing only affects your rank, so it's only important if you are really trying to climb the ladder. I feel like most players won't care enough about it to make it an important part of their strategy, unless you earn impactful rewards for ranking up. Of course, some will try really hard for the sake of it, but it seems like a weird system, given how prominent it is.

this game really should have been landscape not portrait. 3 locations wide plus tiny font would make landscape easier to read and stream better imo.

The upgrades are cosmetic but also your main way of aquiring more cards through boosting your collection level, so they're mandatory in that sense.
