Parents need to be parents and lead by example. Your child will learn more from you than from anyone else.
But the cat is out the bag and if they do that now parent and kids are going be at war because they should have put codes on the phone 📱 and these kids are already out of control and old people done made it wose because parents and kids are going be fighting about phone 📱 now going have kids lieing to there parent I'm 67 years old and these kids are different when we grow up my opinion
This is an easy fix. TAKE THE PHONES AWAY FROM YOUR KIDS! My gosh. Why are adults acting so darn helpless? If your child must have a phone, give them a basic flip phone with no internet access. Put restrictions for them on the computer/ laptop. It’s not that hard to do people. The real problem we’re facing is the lazy parent epidemic. As the adult, it’s your responsibility to take charge . Geesh🤦🏾♂️
Well said. Problem is parents use devices like a babysitter which is very irresponsible.
💯
The fact almost every social media platform has a 13 year old age limit requirement anyway is my biggest problem like the kids shouldn’t have had the accounts to begin with
Government should pay for fixed phones and its monthly bills which kids should use.
Well said, but it is not okay to deny your kids "awareness of there surroundings" aka news sources. It's just a stupid stunt to control there "world view".
Funny how all of these parents saying their children shouldn’t be on social media are the same parents that are always on social media and not out there with their kids or remotely involved in their kids lives.
How do you even remotely know that? You don’t know these people.
Funny how you get to completely make things up and think you’re intelligent. 😂
@@krukimoto6296The first guy said it?
So true....even when they are walking with their children, they totally ignore the kids and have their faces glued to their phones. Parents do a really crappy job nowadays.

It’s up to the parents not the government. Parents need to step up.
They haven't stepped up since 2012

Unfortunately way too many don’t and you can’t be around your kids 24/7
It's funny, Desantis doesn't like China, but he continues to copy them.
Only Chinese apps
No this is worse then china
I allow my teen daughter to have a monitored tiktok, and she's asked for SnapChat, but I said no, for now. I understand these apps are pretty bad for kids, but I don't see why we need government stepping in to ban them from using those apps altogether. There's already an age minimum on the apps, and parents can handle this one. Its just a weird thing to be worried about. Like, can you please address the cost of living crisis?
Parents have shown they can't. Lazy and don't care.
There are numerous studies on how social media negatively effects the brain developement of children. It's highly addictive, and even the creators of social media don't allow their own children to use it because they know how destructive it is. Look up Jaron Lanier and listen to him talk about how destructive social media is. He's one of the founders of it.
And this is why you’re automatically a better parent than half the country. You’re actually intelligent enough to think about things and how you want to parent your child.
It's the parents' responsibility to supervise their kids, not the government's.
And how is that plan been going the last 12 years?
So are they able to drive when they are 12yrs old then
Republicans disagree
this is directed at social media companies lol
Parents can’t be there 24/7 looking over their kids’ shoulders
I guess we let them drink, smoke and gamble then
I just wish they’d taken it further . Fine the social media platforms every time a child is abducted because they thought the person they were chatting with was another child-or every time someone deletes themselves doing a stupid tik tok challenge
You’d start seeing very good self-policing by these companies
What happened to Republicans wanting smaller government? Let these folks parent their children.
If parents aren’t up for the task, and they have not proven they are, the government has to step in.
@@slider903parents have been able to parent for thousands of generations, ours has no excuse. Our generation is simply lazy af and wants the government parenting our kids.

In America, you cannot tell people what they can and cannot do as far as what they read, watch on TV. Well, as a mother of 4, I'll give the solution that worked for my family. I simply pulled the plug. Computer a problem? Unplug. Phone a problem? Snatched. Tablet a problem? Snatched. Wifi an issue? Unplug. There were time limits. As they aged, rules were naturally adjusted. Honestly, there were no issues. Rules are rules, they were followed or there were consequences. Simple. Boundaries were set, end of story. My kids are now all grown. No one missed out, no one felt deprived, everyone survived.

It will eventually lead to National or International identification required for social media sites.

So much for parental control.

Perfect! Tell people how to raise their kids. What could possibly go wrong.
How would they enforce that is my question?
Too much attitude going on in the society we are living in is to put Family first so no one that young should go last.

How do they enforce smoking laws? They punish only those who get caught at will.

How will this work? All social media already has age verification and kids put in their parents age. ID? They will ask their parents for their ID. It should be up to the parents. They do realize a lot of kids have lots of fun and learn lots of stuff on this website, right??
My daughters are 13 & 15.. they’re not allowed to have social media and both are fine with that after seeing all the problems it causes especially at school. We frequently have discussions about it and they both are content with my rules..not being a prisoner to social media compared to many other teen girls is telling.. they both are so motivated and involved in their studies opposed to viewing crap that is sure to cause anxiety, depression and suggestive behavior.. I’ve always said we can revisit the topic at age 17-18.. both are ok with it. The most they have mentioned is that they possibly would like Snapchat .. only reason being is that according to them .. kids don’t ask or exchange phone numbers, they ask for their “snap”. My oldest thought at times it’s embarrassing to say she can’t have it.. it’s only come up twice in all these years.. not that a parent should have to explain their reasons but I do show them studies and newsworthy programs that highlight the dangers and negative impact.. just be involved with your kids.. I truly don’t feel anything good comes from social media but as a conservative I do feel it’s the parents job not government.. I just hope parents will take note of the dangers.. I’m sure many will say I’m wrong and that my kids do things behind my back.. totally false.. they’re both high honor roll students and they tell me everything.. now what we do watch together are videos by Prager U.. they thoroughly enjoy this and learn a lot.. Prager U is conservative , which I think the country has gone to crap with this “woke” mess n dei nonsense
Your kids are not learning from Prager U, they are being miss informed, sorry. It's going to be hard when your kids embarrass themselves in front of co workers or friends because of the mis-information Pragur U "taught" them.
