An easier way to mix the honey with the water and aerate at the sane time is to pour the warmed honey (to make it more viscous) onto small volumes of water in a blender. After a few seconds you will have pumped far more O2 into the solution and you will have completely mixed the honey and water. That said, if I am making enough mead to bottle a gallon , I typically pour the blended mixture into a 2 gallon food grade bucket. That allows me to make a batch that is LARGER than 1 gallon so that when I rack into my secondary I have enough to fill that carboy right to the neck...

I experimented with some of that definitely a two honey to one coco oh and try some fresh orange in secondary from freshly squeezed oranges. Oh and just heated the jars slowly in hot water it was less messy.

+Andrew Nicholson I'll try the orange next time around maybe add orange blossom honey to it 🤷🏼‍♂️ yes definitely should've warmed them up

Sounds like would be great at 12 percent like you said and with some cherries or strawberries. You definitely would want something to cut that sweetness. Looks so tempting to try though. I love chocolate so I may try it. Nice content! I’m glad you tried it and let us know how it tasted I was more curious about that than anything.

Thanks I'm hoping to try it soon as I don't want to age this for too long!!

You have to let me know how it is. Lol the suspense is killing me. If I can get a chocolate mead that works I would be done.

I like that the yeast can be saved if stored in a concealed container... just hope I can find it later when I need it :P

Looks tasty! On a scale of 1-10 how strong is the Chocolate flavour? I'm tempted to set 1 off tomorrow

+Fisher Man it's quite weak maybe a four... I was tempted to back flavour it but that would just be a big mess
I'd recommend what I suggest in the video add more than 5 jars maybe 6 and 1 honey but stop it at around 10-12%
I might look at this again another day but it's definitely a unique taste

@@ANDYYSHAWW118 it's definitely worth ago, if you're using ChocoBee maybe add some cocoa powder during secondary. I'll do a proper chocolate mead some other time and compare them 😁

Why do you have to use a concealed container? Who is stealing your yeast?
