    For those who don't know the reason why australia has a uranium pipe, earlier this year a small capsule containing a radioactive substance (around an 8x6mm cylinder protected by lead) went missing on the side of the road in WA on its way from Pilbara (about 700-800km/400-500 miles south of Broome) to Perth, which was lost for two weeks. It wasn't until around the beginning of February that the capsule was found. Although the pipe is uranium, the capsule actually contained Caesium-137. Just a neat little fun fact for y'all who aren't an aussie/are an aussie but don't read or watch the news (so most, because we are lazy)

  • @aetherde
    @aetherde 11 месяцев назад +6

    As a german I cannot confirm that all metal pipes would make this sound. The difference in sound when metal pipes fall can be attributed to the material and surface they interact with. When a metal pipe falls, its sound is influenced by various factors such as the density, composition, and shape of the pipe, as well as the nature of the surface it falls onto.
    The material of the pipe plays a significant role in determining the sound it produces. Different metals have distinct properties, including their density and composition, which affect how they vibrate when they collide with another object. These vibrations create sound waves that we perceive as noise. Therefore, pipes made from different metals, such as steel or copper, will produce varying sounds when dropped due to their unique physical characteristics.
    Moreover, the surface or the ground onto which the metal pipe falls can influence the sound it produces. The surface can be hard, soft, or have varying textures, which affects how the pipe interacts with it upon impact. When a metal pipe collides with a hard surface, such as concrete or a tiled floor, the sound produced may be louder and sharper. Conversely, if the pipe falls onto a softer surface, like carpet or grass, the sound may be muffled or dampened due to the absorption of energy by the surface.

    I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply.

    Starting at 0:26: The perfect mix between the constant bouncing of a dropped object and the fall of a solid metal bar. The result? That what was happening to Australia was like a kind of trigger that makes it rumble a lot the first time... IT EXPLODES! And that is what happened to Finland.

    Finnish metal pipe soudn was actually a shell casing falling from artillery piece, which was firing at Soviet positions.

    I like how the greek pipe falling just made a boing sound,and I also like that the mexican pipe was just a warp pipe from mario, that the japanese pipe falling just made a lego sound,and that the bamboo pipe falling just made a bamboo bonk noise. (I also like the shattering noise that the ceramic pipe made)

    This is crazy relatable. At 0:02, the company prints the text for a reason that’s yet to be discovered. But the best reason I know is to let builders in the UAE 🇦🇪 know what pipe to buy/use.
